Officially starting the infertility roller coaster
We're scheduled for our first consult with the RE on June 1st.
My ob/gyn is doing some preliminary bloodwork next week to check my thyroid and progesterone levels, and I am starting Clomid next cycle.
DH is getting his little swimmers checked out next week, and is pleased that at least he's allowed to produce the sample at home, and deliver it to the lab.
And so it begins . . . . . . . . . . . . .
Always missing my Mommy (1954-2010) and Daddy (1943-2012)

Thinking of you! ***HUGS***
I can't speak for everyone, but you KNOW I'm around if you need a shoulder or just someone to vent too. And yes, of course, celebrate with too!
Well...
My wish for you is that your ride on this roller coaster is a short one. You guys can do this- you can.
Just promise me one thing- you will INSIST to be monitored while on Clomid. Too many OBs hand out scripts without properly monitoring and that can be dangerous.
I'm here if you need to talk.

Hmm . . . she didn't mention anything about monitoring. I will ask her when I talk to her next week after my bloodwork comes in. Won't be starting round one until the following week. I just picked it up and read all the side effects in the brochure that came with it -- it's some scary stuff. I may decide to hold off a cycle until I talk to the RE before starting it. I'll have to give it some thought.

Yeah, don't be too scared of the Se in general ( although if you feel weepy- totaly normal). It is just that with Clomid, you will most likely produce multiple follicles. If you develop too many, it can lead to overstimulation- which is dangerous. Also, if you get pregnant , it could lead to higher order multiples.
You'll want cycle Day 3 blood work and an u/s and then you will usually start clomid that day ( or I've started on day 5). You will then go in close to when you ovulate for a check of your E2 levels and you will have another u/s to see how many follicles you've produced/ how well you responded.
That is when you would make a judgement call as to wether or not to try. Every follicle holds an egg that is a potential baby, so you'll want to know what is going on in there before you pull the trigger.
Good Luck...
Dont start clomid until you get HIS results... and make sure u go for ultrasounds.... multiple eggs = multiple babies...
I got pregnant on clomid 100..... so im sending u my clomid luck
you should be getting CD2 or 3 internal ultrasound
and then after you finish your 5 days of it another internal ultrasound to check on the embies
and another one to make sure you have mature ones close to your ovulation date. If you dont O they will tell you when to trigger based on this ultrasound to force ovulation.
Are they starting you at 50 mg?
ha ha ha!!!
You can SO pay me in thin mints.
I was actually going to suggest this as well. There is really no reason to put these extra hormones in your body if your DH's swimmers need some help.
Yes, she gave me a scrip for 50 mg and said to try it for three months.

He is going in next week, so we should know before we start anything else.
