Re: Top Names for 2010
Summer - Be careful, I will hold you to that someday!
Brianna,
I think you automatically get that name after giving birth.
Ok, fine. We'll call her Ella then? Or is that popular too. Oh well. DH is set on Elizabeth. Which, I don't mind because it's sweet he wanted to name a girl after me. But Elizabeth sounds so old fashioned to me.
You know, after yesterday's funny, I think it would be hilarious if someone nicknamed their kid "Parp."
Speaking of nicknames....Bill and I are going to nickname ours Fuzzy, after Reilly Fuzzel Road down in the Houston area. Only because the name made me laugh.
Julie for the win! I'm cracking up, out loud, over here.
No no and, heck to the no.
Disclaimer:
*I apologize if I have offended anyone with the name Beth*
Did I miss the "parp" thing? I know I saw it, but I didn't get the reference at the time, and I still don't get it.
Someone please explain.
Gotcha. I must have not gotten that far. I had to stop reading it because I got distracted and never finished that one.

HA HA too funny! I think Ella is cute!
Wow.. I am impressed so many already have their names picked out..
We are no where close.. every time I suggest a name, DH claims "Veto!".
I have always like the following girl names:
Alyssa
Alexis
Celeste - apparently this one is too stripper name sounding??? :-/
Evangeline ( Eva or Evie for short)
Magdalena

Ooh, Lizard. I love it.
I always liked being in the middle of the alphabet because at school we always had to give speeches in alphabetical or reverse alphabetical order.
If your in the middle, you never have to go first.

related, i really like this website for browsing names. they have them sorted by nationality and religion and such.
my favorite girl's name has been steadily climbing the ranks for several years now. it's in the top 50 now i think. makes me sad. NO ONE had it when i was growing up, and it's the feminine version of my dad's name, so i was pretty attached to it, but i'm rethinking now. i do NOT want to end up with a "jennifer/jason" situation.

Your Olivia could be Lizard and my Olivia could be Livy for when we babysit each other's girls.
Too stripper sounding? What is on his list then?
Alexis- it's close to Lexi, which I really like. It has gone from 440 in 2000 to the 200's last year. Maybe I'll add an 'e' to the end because it is not moving very fast.
Are you going to find out whether it is a boy or girl?
Aww, that is perfect for twins!

My friend just had twins, boy and a girl. And she was SO against picking popular names.
So she picked Alexis and Noah.
::scratches head::
ETA: AND, then she would get pissed when people would say "Aww, those are cute names and really popular right now".
What did you expect them to say? OMGEEEEE, I've never heard THAT one before!
Don't laugh but Tuesday and Wednesday (I do like them, tyvm) aren't in the top 1000 for last 11 years. And neither is our middle name which I will not share. However, Wednesday is not happening because it would sound weird and would be a mouthful with our last name.
I used to really like Addison but I'm just not feeling it anymore. Others that I do like: Reagen (#127), Kennedy (#110), Trinity (#73) (but DH says people would think about the Trinity River so he's not sure), Rain- not in the top 1000 for the last 11 years. DH loves Ziva. Reagen and Kennedy have nothing to do with the presidents. The only one that would work with our plans to have a K and L would be Kennedy and Lexi (I posted that earlier).
God, our kids are going to be weird.
ETA: Oh and Sawyer.
Jaymi, my cat's name is Wednesday!
I like Colton.
Our boy name, ahem, my boy name is Ryder Russell, Russell is DH's middle name.
DH isn't completely sold on Ryder, but he'll come around. I wasn't completely sold on Elizabeth either. And he wants her middle name to be MIL's middle name. So, we made a deal that if we have a girl we'll go with that, and a boy, we'll go with Ryder. Fair enough.
I know! It's cute. Plus your cat is black, right?
When we named Cadence, people came out of the woodwork saying "ohhh, that's SO my girl name!!"
Then, within the next 18 months, two friends of ours had girls... named Kaydence and Kadence. That kills me.
Her middle name is Denise, after my mother.
Our boy name is Chance William.
