I've BEEN to a JOP wedding then Applebees circa 2006 (and I think we did just show up). I was more dressed up than the bride, whoopsies. But they're still married and going strong. Not changing my answer tho, sticking w/ 4 mos!
I think a JOP wedding and restaurant reception can be just fine, and is a smart move for people who really can't afford anything else. That is totally not what is wrong in this scenario!
Maybe on a Monday, it will be ok to just show up without a reservation. I hate waiting for a table, though, and for 15+ people I imagine you may have to wait a bit.
Ok so here's the tally.
1. He is the guy she cheated on first fiance with.
2. They have been together for 6 months.
3. 2 week engagement.
4. Facebook wedding invite.
5. Applebees reception. (Not gonna dog on the JOP wedding because sometimes that's what works for people).
Anything else?

Can I put in a guess of 5 months, 3 weeks and 6 days until someone cheats or moves out/first break up, 2 years until they actually break up, and 4-6 years until they get divorced (because divorce costs money)
Seriously though, it's a weird situation. Up to you on the gift...I probably wouldn't based on the facebook invite/short notice/lack of commmunication between you two. Also, I don't know if you mentioned it for sure (I'm at work and reading/writing this has become a 30 minute process), but are you going? If you do we need details in an update post on Tuesday.

No, I'm not going. The wedding is in FL. I probably wouldn't spring for a plane ticket for this wedding regardless, since we're not close and it's basically just dinner at Applebee's with a bunch of strangers, but it's possible that if I had more time to get a good deal, I might fly down and see the rest of my family.
