I had a blueberry bagel with strawberry cream cheese for breakfast this morning. It was only 128 calories and pretty much made my morning.

Re: Chit Chat Thursday
I went to bed super early last night, slept in until 6:45 this morning and I finally feel well rested. We started a movie last night when I layed down and I didnt even make it through the previews.
That sounds yummy! I made the mistake of not eating breakfast this morning and I'm already hungry!

I can't believe that a mom called her lawyer about our date form. Yes, we want to know who your child is bringing. Yes, we have a right to know if we need to look out for trouble. Get over it. Just because you think your child can walk on water doesn't mean that they're not immune from the policy or picking a stupid person to date.
And, prom tickets were on sale for five and a half weeks. Why are you waiting until two days before prom to come in and try to buy tickets and pitch a fit when you can't sit with your friends because the table is full?
I feel sorry for people who think the world revolves around them.
I have "Rollin' in the Deep" in my head and it won't leave.
Other than that , my day is going just peachy.
For you In-N-Out fans, Bud Kennedy from the FW Star Telegram just posted on FB:
Welcome, pardner: Whataburger is delivering orange cowboy boots to both In-N-Out Burger (@innoutburger) stores in Allen and Frisco
Too funny.
I love Rollin in the Deep.
There are no bosses in my office today. Woo.
A friend from HS called me last night out of the blue just to catch up. Man, that was a long time ago. Crazy how life changes.

I thought for sure this sentence would have ended with "by switching to Geico". LOL
Congrats though, that's awesome!
Haha - I read, "We just saved a bunch" and immediately my mind filled in the rest with "by switching to Geico". Oh Geico - looks like your marketing techniques are sticking with me. Congrats, though.
Holy cow!! Get out of my head!!
Warning, possible TMI (pet related):
I have a small, hairy dog. Sometimes when he does his business, things get messy... so this morning I check when he comes back inside, and things were fine... but apparently my dog shts glitter. He's just that awesome.
Is your agent very small and green? Does he have cave man friends?
I love "Rolling in the Deep".
I feel very accomplished. Our principal was not on campus yesterday and probably not again today. Normally, I would have worn jeans. Nope, I dressed professionally today.
I am still fighting with this one chaperone about bringing her husband with her. I had to take her because she's coming with a special needs child. That already means that I am down one chaperone that could do actual prom work that evening as she will watching that one little girl. Now she wants to know, if she doesn't eat, can she bring her husband because she is afraid to go places by herself. Really? You're a grown woman. I suggested that she could try to find a ride with one of my other chaperones. I've already been warned that she will try to go above my head. I seriously don't understand why you can't go somewhere that's work related without your spouse. It's not a date. It's not your social event. It's work.
~Lauren - WOO HOO That's great news! I plan on doing this on Friday! Can't wait to see what we save!
~BL - I just about did the same thing, but got up to eat. I feel much better than I did yesterday! I guess I needed to sleep.
~Angie - that's hilarious!
I tried my first cup of get relaxed tea last night and I passed out within 15 minutes. I hit the snooze button twice because I did NOT want to get up this morning and I am still not exactly awake. While I like Rose and Lavender, it smells and tastes gross.
And, since some of you are in the "real world", I was wondering what your take on this situation was.....
I have several friends at one of my campuses who are in leadership positions (team leaders, dept. heads, etc). They discovered over the past few days that all but one of them was being removed from their leadership positions. They were told: via voicemail, text message, email and one hasn't officially been told yet by the administrators but she's pretty sure it's happening to her. Also, I have spoken with several and none of them were given a reason as to why this was happening.
Do they really tell people bad news this way in a business setting? Is this even appropriate? I am appalled that a woman with whom I have been working since 1999 would treat long time employees this way (most of them have been here since I came).

In my opinion, communicating such information in this manner is inappropriate and unprofessional. A meeting should be set up, so there is no room for miscommunication and any questions/concerns can be asked or addressed immediately. Then the decision is final and the issue is over.
I don't think it's appropriate at all. Our company definitely doesn't function like that. They have a meeting with you in private. I'm suprised that that's really happening and feel bad for them. How awful to find out something like that via text message. Really?!
Julie - I worked at RadioShack Corporation when they did their huge layoff in 2005. They announced the week before the layoff that it would be conducted via email and we had to attend a mandatory class about "the email" that told us what to do if we got "the email." We were told what day and time it would be sent.
On that Tuesday we were allowed to wear jeans (gee, thanks) and we all sat in our cubes hitting send receive at 10am. You began to hear gasps and sobs and you knew that the email was hitting people's boxes. Those eliminated had until 11:30 to pack up and say goodbye, then they were hearded like cattle into a giant conference room with the HR team and got into lines according to last name to collect their severance and sign non-disclosure agreements.
It was truly the biggest HR fail ever and it was horrible. The next round of layoffs in 2006 were done differently and in person, so I guess they learned their lesson.
What makes this even "greater" is that my MOH was informed via voicemail and in the voicemail the administrator told her that, if she wanted, she could come meet with the administrator but that she was going to be gone to meetings until late Thursday afternoon and she could come see her then.
Haha! You guys are so funny, I think that was in my head when I was typing that. Funny thing is - we have Progressive.
ETA - Julie, I don't think that is professional at all. With all of my job change/boss changes they have either told me face to face or on a call (but that was only because they work in Florida and I work in Texas).

Actually, now that I think of it, they didn't learn their lesson. My friend got laid off there last month and was tapped on the shoulder by her supervisor and told to follow her. When she asked where they were going she was told "on a field trip" and was delivered to HR with no explaination. She was told she was laid off, walked back up to her desk by an HR person, allowed to grab only her purse and was escorted out.
Her things were mailed to her, she worked there for 15 years. They digust me. So glad I left.
This completely disgusts me as well. Sometimes I think I can't wait to get out in the "real world" and start working but if that's what's waiting for me, perhaps I'll stay in college forever...
Both of you get out of MY head! I actually went onto Geico today and realized that I could save almost $50/month by switching (and with better coverage). I called Allstate to see what they would say...
So, I just posted on TK - "I saved a ton of money by switching to Geico"
Bio
Julie - Totally inappropriate. My company had one-on-one meetings during several big layoffs a few years ago which I thought was nice.
The problem, you ask? Some people did not get their meetings in a timely fashion so their email and computer login accounts were deleted prior to them being informed. Also, they received an extra paycheck earlier in the week that week... those who had direct deposit noticed and knew. Yeah, fail.
