Weekend Plans/General Chat Friday

I am never really sure what we do on Fridays anymore, so:

What's going on this weekend?

Anything else you just want to talk about to pass the time until the weekend?

Re: Weekend Plans/General Chat Friday

  • Tonight we have my cousin's graduation party, tomorrow a family reuninon and then sweet, sweet Sunday is just for doing nothing...woo hoo.

We have this teenage boy in our neighborhood who wanders around with his acoustic guitar on singing, he is like a midevial minstrel...it's kind of strange/cool. Anyway, last night we were at the neighbor's house and he sang some John Legend and I seriously got a little weak in the knees. He is 18 and I felt like a perv.

  • The only plans I know for sure if mom's garage sale and a wedding tomorrow.  I was hoping to fit some car looking into the weekend but not sure if we will have time.

Wish I was going to the G2G tonight!

  • Yay for the G2G tonight!  Other than that, no real plans other then last minute shopping for the honeymoon.  I'm still looking for another bathing suit and cover up.  I think we're going to try and go see a movie on Sunday night.
  • Tonight - No G2G for me.  :(  I am going to my BIL's birthday party... we are all going to the Slighty Stoopid concert, and I have no idea who they are!

Tomorrow - Main St. Days in Grapevine and relaxing.  :)

    Sunday... probably the same!

  • Today I'm finally picking up our canvas from Lynn and working on my presentation for my interview next week. Our dinner plans for tonight fell through, so I might be able to make the GTG depending on how far I get on my presentation.

Tomorrow we have a meeting at the venue for Courts' first wedding gig, which is next month. Then in the evening my friend is coming over to play Glee Karaoke and Dance on Broadway on Wii, lol.

Sunday I'll be doing some more getting ready for my interview and I might see if my SIL wants to go see Bridesmaids. She's on modified bedrest, and she's normally an on-the-go type, so she needs activities and distractions. :)

  • Tonight I will be at the GTG!

Sat- I need to finish my last small batch of thank you notes (I know I am super late on them) and finish the book club book.

Sun- Matt and I will likely go shoot some basketball, and I need to menu plan and grocery shop to ensure I have planned out meals for the week.

I (we Matt) found some pics of me this week that were horrific and reminded me how far I have come with my weight loss but I still have so far to go.  I need to kick it up again because my goal was always to lose the weight and be at my "maintainable" weight (which is 35 more lbs) by the time I was 25 well as long as I do it before my 26th bday or am very close to it I wont feel let down.

  • Tonight:  G2G but before that I have so much to do!  New tire, drop off check at the florist, print up table seatings, print up check-in tickets, cut out check-in tickets, put poker chips in baggies, pack up all the stuff I'll need for tomorrow into my car.  Whew.

Tomorrow:  breakfast with two good friends who were burned by what happened earlier this week.  A mani, a trip to the Apple store in Southlake, and who knows what else before I go pick up my dear work friend who will come with me to prom to help with set up.  And then, PROM.

Sunday, I will sleep in but I think my MOH and I are going to see "Bridesmaids" and go to lunch.  We'll see about that one.

On a side note, Bill's car is making a funny noise but he's still going to Houston.  I think he's going to end up renting a car to go and that's fine but I have no idea when he's going to get his car looked at because next weekend we are taking my dad to Austin for the day and then Sunday we have a show.

  • Anna- I know you will be repeating yourself but when do you leave again to go to NJ?

  • I'm really exhausted already and it is only 9 am.   I also have a million errands to run and things to do this weekend. I don't know how I am going to fit it all in and still have time to rest.
  • Lacey-  Thanks so much for the VS bathing suit suggestion.  Since I only needed tops, I went for it and ordered four on Sunday.  They were delivered this week and two of four (which is all I needed) work!!!  Now I don't have to dread bathing suit shopping!

Tonight- Shopping with my mom for a few things for my vacation.  I need a few new sundresses and some new sunglasses.  I am thinking about taking a sun hat for the beach.  Question:  Could I wear a straw Fedora as a beach hat???

Tomorrow- My nephew's soccer game and shopping with DH for his vacation wear.  I would rather eat dirt.

    Sunday- Hopefully, NOTHING!

  • Tonight: G2G

Saturday: I really need to clean my house.  Also, I want to paint this bench in our entry way and I want to paint the canvas I bought 2-3 weeks ago.

Sunday: I don't know.  Relax?  Read?  I finally started the book.  Take that Sarah.  ;)

  • imagesaramc27:

Question:  Could I wear a straw Fedora as a beach hat???

Yes you can.  Be careful if the straw is loosely binded together, though.  If there are 'holes' your head can still get sunburned. So, don't forget sunscreen.  :)

  • Tonight:  G2G!  And no cake, sorry.... see my late-night addition to the Thursday chat.

I have Monday off, so this weekend we're going to be hanging out together before DH leaves for (hopefully) his last out of town job.  I have been making a list of house-stuff to do, which we both enjoy.  Church Sunday, maybe lunch with my siblings, and possibly a movie in there somewhere, and it should be a pretty fantastic weekend!

  • Lacey- And you'll proabably have it finished before I do too! :-p

    Tonight- G2G!

Saturday- Meeting my photographer to pick up my wedding album.  Cleaning house.

Sunday- I want to relax and read some more of the book club book!

Anna- I know you will be repeating yourself but when do you leave again to go to NJ?

I fly out on Tuesday. The interview is 9-4 on Wednesday, then I fly back that evening. I should be landing around midnight on Wednesday. :) Then on Thursday I have a phone interview at 12:30pm. Should be a super crazy week!

  • Also, we have a departmental staff meeting at 9.30.  Last time we had one of these, they announced a bunch of layoffs.  I'm a little nervous!  At least there are bagels, I guess....

(Last time, the only person who was affected in our department was the VP - apparently he built such a good department, he's no longer needed.  He's still here working on the transition of his successor.)

  • Yeah, I should probably do some reading this weekend, too. I'm only a third of the way through the book! I read about a quarter of the book the first weekend, but I've been reading before bed and only make it through a few pages before I fall asleep.

Wow, sounds like y'all all have great weekends planned.  I'm not sure that I'm looking forward to mine.

Tonight is a birthday party for a friend.  Tomorrow morning we have a 5k to run benefiting the DFW Lab Rescue group that I volunteer with.  Then we have about an hour to get home shower and get to the Aggie Crawfish Boil.  We are volunteering to work there for the first half of it, then enjoy the rest.  I told DH that we need to hang out together Saturday night, because I'm leaving Sunday for two weeks.  So, Sunday will be doing laundry, and packing for my two week trip.

Somewhere in there, I need to finish recovering all the dining room chairs for the set I am updating.  Very excited about my, new to me, updated furniture!

I really think I'm just not looking forward to leaving for two weeks, not so much for this weekend.

  • No G2G for me tonight. Since I've been out of town this week Brad wants to spend time together...I guess he does love me after all! Big Smile

Tonight, we're going to go to Babe's for dinner and then Main Street Days in Grapevine.

Saturday, hopefully, we'll be adopting Sweet Pea from Angela and packing for our move next weekend.

Sunday, I've got to get caught up on grades. So, I'll be spending the day grading and resting.

  • This morning I forgot my cell and my book (which I found out yesterday I have to turn in next Wednesday and can't renew it because of a hold).  I am out of my cereal for breakfast and lunch items at work so I get to go to the cafeteria Ick!  for lunch and I will be making a peanut butter-banana sandwich for breakfast.

I've been in a really bad mood since yesterday and I'm pretty sure it's because of our weekend plans.  I need to snap out of it soon.  Tonight I had planned to workout and finish up some things for our trip and then work out tomorrow morning and pack before we leave so I can finish my week BUT DH told me last night he wants to leave real early tomorrow morning so I don't even know if I will have time to workout tonight because my to-do list for tomorrow will be moved to tonight.  And if I think about it, I could probably do MIL Bingo.

We tried the Love Shack last night and it was different.  The fries are like potato shavings and there is a lot of peppercorns on the burger (can't figure out if it's in the love sauce or the patty).  I'm pretty sure Tim Love was there chatting it up with everyone.

  • No G2G for me either. I'm going to see my friend and her twin babies because it'll be my last opportunity to do so for a while. Before that I'll probably do some cleaning and get a pedicure.

Tomorrow I'm not sure. No big plans which I am loving. Possibly Main Street Days in Grapevine, maybe laying out by the pool if it's warm enough. Sunday, probably the same! I love not having to study!

Yes, pool is also on the list if it is warm enough.  We miss the sun from Mexico.

DH has been wanting to the last few weekends, but I've had to study. :(. So it'll be nice to finally be able to!

    Third Anniversary

This was the weekend we were supposed to go on the rode trip to see DH's family, but we decided to postpone it, so we don't have a lot going on.

    Tonight will be date night.

Tomorrow morning we will be going to a friend's PHD graduation at SMU, which I am excited about because I love going back to my alma mater and seeing the beautiful campus.

On Sunday, we might spend some time with DH's family here in town.

BTW, a couple of night's ago DH ended up telling a lot of his family over the phone about our news ( I am still not ready to tell the world.. maybe in about 1 more week when we are officially out of the first trimester). I was surprised that several of them asked if this was planned. Hmm, yep, we are both 31 yrs old and married and have stable lives, and made the decision, so I am pretty sure you are not going to be seeing us on 16 and Pregnant anytime soon. I was slighlty ticked off by that question...

  • And I'm extremely anxious for grades to post.

Leslie- since it's my first semester at UTA, can you tell me generally when they tend to post grades to MyMav? UNT was really quick about it.

I love going back to SMU!  :-)  It is such a pretty campus!

And that was rude to ask if it was planned!

    Tomorrow: birthday party for BIL

Sunday:  drop Chris off at the airport.  (this week went by too fast) :(  Then probably catch up on laundry and tv shows that I missed all week.

Aw, Kathy I'm sorry some of them reacted like that. That's strange. The only thing I can think of is because maybe they thought since y'all haven't been married very long, it wasn't planned? Oh well....can't please everyone!
