Friday night at The Bishop's Collar...

Yeah that's right my name's Yauch!
Re: Friday night at The Bishop's Collar...
Eh, I don't know. I agree they could have handled it better by asking you to stop.
But I think it's rude to light up where people are eating. Just because you can smoke on the patio doesn't mean you should.
I think it sucks as a non-smoker to be confined to eating inside b/c people are using the outside eating area as a smoking section. I admit I am not familiar with The Bishop's Collar, so I don't know what their outside section looks like, but I know here in the Jerz people light up at a restaurant if there is any open roof-less space at all.
I think the smoking section should be completely separate from where anyone would be eating. In fact, I don't really even think restaurants even need to accomodate smokers.
I agree with this, but I think that's on the restaurant, not on the patrons.
Either way, passive aggressiveness sucks.
i know the smoking rules are like after 8pm at outdoor seating in philly? i'd side eye you if i was at the bar with my kid and the peson next to me lit up, but i would side eye myself for being at the bar with a kid at 8pm.
no really.
my FIL does this to people aka talks about them when they are the table next to you. i told my husband i hope he get popped in the face one day because it is rude as hell.
I will say that if walked onto a patio that was marked 'smoking section' and I was the only non-smoker there, I wouldn't have the reasonable expectation that I was going to get a smoke free meal.
However, if was an outdoor eating section where a large majority of the people weren't smoking and someone sat next to me and started to smoke, I'd be pisssed.
I completely agree with this (as well as what LD and Rum said) and it's rude, IMO.
I wouldn't say that it is rude ...but maybe inconsiderate is the word. There is no smoking section any more, so outside is for " everybody". You gotta share the air and yeah, what I still come back with is that smoking makes grody air.
Edited to add: smoking outdoors at a drinking only establishment is a free for all.
Well, I do appreciate everyone's different views on the subject. It's one of the only seats in town where I can eat, drink smoke and watch the Phillies on the TV above the bar all at the same time, lol.
The perspective that I handled it badly before she did is interesting, that is all.
Yeah that's right my name's Yauch!
ITA.
I can't wait to read this girl's Yelp review of the place....LOL
