Are there any particular species of which you're not fond?
I'm not a fan of geese. They poop everywhere & they're mean. I hate when I'm running & I get the side-eye from a goose cause I never know if that fuucker is going to come after me.
Re: Animals You Dislike
I was at the gym on Sunday & there was a news story about a whale landing on a sailboat. It made me think of you.
I saw that on msnbc.com, the guy said there were bits of blubber on the boat, but he's sure the whale is fine, just swam away... EEEWWW and aahhhh
Ok. I'm totally not judging, but I'm dying to know why.
I actually like geese. While they can be mean little animals, we have fun feeding them in our backyard.
ETA: I hate most bugs. That's really all I can think of.
Specifically? I just can't get on board with him. Scares the crap out of me everytime.
Other than that, ditto Sikes & Ashlee on most insects and silverfish. I loathe roaches, but everyone does. I am however totally judging Ashlee on the whales thing.
Okay, it's rational in my mind, and my points are random, but here it goes.
First off, some of my biggest fears are heights and really big things (like planes, tall buildings, giant boats, submarines) Then, I'm scared of what's in the ocean. You have no clue what's in there, it's SO deep and so vast. Next, when you're a child and you hear about Jonah and the Whale and see Pinnocchio, you believe that whales will, in fact, swallow you whole. Then again, as an adult, in Finding Nemo. Also, people say whales are gentle. That's bull. They're fierce, and they're not to be trained (looking at you, Sea World and Tillimuk (sp?)).
I'm sure I have more points and reasons, I'll edit this if I can think of them. But I hate Pacific Life commercials, and during football season it's the WORST. Also, that Mountain Dew one. That's how you lose a possible consumer!
LOL!! Thank you for a much needed morning laugh.
Ashlee....a whale joke for you (this is from a "teacher" forward)
A little girl was talking to her teacher about whales.
?
The teacher said it was physically impossible for a whale to swallow a human because even though it was a very large mammal its throat was very small.
The little girl stated that Jonah was swallowed by a whale.
Irritated, the teacher reiterated that a whale could not swallow a human; it was physically impossible.
The little girl said, 'When I get to heaven I will ask Jonah'.
The teacher asked, 'What if Jonah went to hell?'
The little girl replied, 'Then you ask him'.
some people do like to taunt me. this was purchased for vdub:

I am scared of the same thing and DH thinks I am crazy. I LOVE the ocean but I don't like to go in it since you have no idea what is in there. The idea of being on a boat in the middle of the ocean freaks me out, which is why I probably have not taken a cruise before.
I also can't stand the idea of going into a lake since I don't know if something is lurking at the bottom. For some reason I think that if I was in a lake that Jaws would pop up and attack me.
Goats are AWESOME. We had two as pasture mates for our horses when I was a kid.
I want one that faints. And I want one that gives off milk so I can make goat cheese.
Love goat cheese!
DH wants a goat too. We were at a petting zoo with our nephew and this one goat kept blowing raspberries on another goat to get him to move over. It was hilarious!
Hahaha no. I was thinking about it while driving to work this morning. Random, I know.
At the Zoo today, DD and I pet goats. They are quite cute.
How is it that my BABY is going to be 3?

Snakes, roaches, silverfish, flies, ants. I guess those are not technically animals though.

I'll be the dissenter and say that I actually do like Vultures. They look really cool flying around and someone's got to do the dirty work. Otherwise those poor little roadkill animals would sit there day after day looking sadder and more horrible. Also they're kind of funny because they're so huge, yet they hop around.
Animal wise.... I don't really like pigs. Little pigs, sure. But I think big pigs are pretty gross.
Also I hate gerbils because one bit the crap out of me as a kid and they aren't cute.
Otherwise, I pretty much like everything, even spiders. Not crawling on me or biting me, but they're ok. I had a pet banana spider outside the window when we lived in our condo and loved watching it remake its web every morning. It was gorgeous but kind of scary. The day we found out we were moving here and were actually going to take it to our new house and release it in the bushes, the gardeners sprayed it. I thought it was covered in dew and wondered why it wasn't eating its morning breakfast of a moth when I saw it curl up and drop off. It was like fricking Charlotte. I cried.
