Wedding wear for pregnancy
Any moms or pregnant ladies have to attend a wedding while knocked up?
I have four weddings (no funerals.. ba dum chee) this summer and I will be 7-9 months pregnant. They aren't super formal, but I will need a cocktail dress for all of them. Do they make maternity cocktail dresses? Can someone point me in the right direction?

Re: Wedding wear for pregnancy
Go to Nordie's website. They have a bunch. I actually got mine at a little place in Manayunk that no longer exists, but Nordie's carried it as well.
Thanks
Just found out last week so still getting used to this whole pregnancy thing
I am getting two different dates: September 18th and September 27. I am getting the full anatomy scan on Friday so I think we can pinpoint the date a little better then.
So it appears that Baby G is the size of a papaya.
I'll probably wait a little bit longer. All of the normal dresses I wear are super tight and I know aren't going to fit me now, so I'm just planning ahead a little.
Birth plan? pffttt. That can wait. I need cocktail dresses first
Congrats! I am totally nosy and need to know the backstory here!
Ditto. I read "just found out last week", then realized the full anatomy scan and due dates. I'm due at the end of October and already 17 weeks! That means you are totally over 20 weeks and missed half of the pregnancy!
Haha, I had a feeling someone was going to ask how the eff I didn't know I was 5 months pregnant.
I have a medical condition that causes me not to get my period every month. The last time I got it was December, and the time before that was July. So going 5-6 months without it is completely normal for me. Because of this medical condition I was told that getting pregnant was going to be very hard, if not impossible, so we haven't used protection since... 2004?
I got zero morning sickness. I had some heartburn, but I just figured that I am turning 30 next month so my body doesn't handle food like it used to. I was tired a lot and started gaining weight, but I attributed it to stress of moving/ buying a house. Even when I started feeling the baby moving a couple weeks ago, I just thought it was gas.
I went to the doctors on Tuesday because I thought I had a bladder infection ( I was peeing like every 30-45 minutes) and she decided to run a pregnancy test. It came up positive. We were scared shiitless, but figured we were only like a month or two out and had options. On Thursday we went for our first ultrasound and were told we were about 20 weeks, and we got even more scared and realized we didn't have as many options.
We are getting more used to the idea, and are now started to get excited. We are still a little scared because we hadn't planned on starting a family for another 2 or 3 years... not in 4 months
Thank goodness we moved out of that apartment!
This is totally my plan for Baby Numbers 2.0. I would like to wake up one day 5 months along.
Honestly being pregnant with #4, I forget sometimes that I even am! I can't even believe that I am 17 weeks already. This pregnancy is flying by!
They asked us on Thursday if we wanted to find out the sex and we were so shellshocked we said no. I think we will find out on Friday though because, as JEGs said, ' we've had enough surprises'. We both think it's a boy though.
Our family is crazy excited. This will be my parent's 5th grandchild, but my ILs first (JEGs is an only child). We had a housewarming party on Saturday, so we broke the news then. My mom literally jumped up and down
It was kind of cute. My oldest brother cried and my youngest brother keeps texting me 'I can't believe you are pregnant!!'
I would think for as often as you have been pregnant the past couple of years it wouldn't be that you would forget you are pregnant but the opposite. You would assume you are pregnant even when you weren't
I'm not gonna lie-- minus the complete unpreparedness, it's kind of kick ass.

ha! yes- that would be great!
Congrats!! What a crazy story- everything happens for a reason.
As far as dresses, I'd agree to wait until it's closer. Also, Old Navy has some cute dresses- not sure if they would be formal enough or not. I have a wedding in July (3 weeks before my due date) I refuse to buy a dress so I'm hoping I can borrow one from a friend. And I'm not looking forward to going to a wedding in mid summer when I'm 9 months pg. But oh well....
sorry for the double post- won't let me delete it. wtf.
>>And I'm not looking forward to going to a wedding in mid summer when I'm 9 months pg<<
Yeah, I have a wedding on September 17th. If my due date is on the 18th I don't think I will be attending
It's in Honeybrooke, PA and JEGs is in the bridal party so we aren't sure what we are goign to do.
I also have three bachelorette parties, one of which is a weekend in OCMD. I am not looking forward to hanging out with a gaggle of skinny girls in their bikinis while I look like a beached whale at 7 months pregnant.
You are a real-life "I didn't know I was pregnant"! Wow, congrats!
I totally had some gurgling in my stomach the other day and was like umm, could it be? I can totally see how you might mistake that. I mean, I've never been pregnant but it just seems like it definitely could be possible.
I did a double take when I read your dates but holy crap. Congrats (and lucky you)!
Very true! I think with the first, you have more time on your hands and really take it all the different changes to your body and new baby movements, etc. Not that this one isn't special or anything, but I have less time to really sit back and just enjoy, and more time spent on running after 2 crazy toddlers.
And Congrats Amer! Looks like you need a "To Do" list Asap!
)
Congratulations! That's a crazy story!
And as far as the beach goes, you won't likely be huge by 7 months. I went to OBX when I was almost 7 months and I was proudly baring my bump and boobies in my regular bikini. Own it, rock it, enjoy it.
For dresses, def. wait until closer to the weddings. Target is good for less expensive dresses...Boden now sells maternity too, so you could check that out (bodenusa.com). Also Nordies, Gap, Ann Taylor Loft.
Wow! Just, wow! though I could have easily gone through half of my pregnancy the same way. The only thing that made me realize I should take a test was the fact that i couldnt remember the last time I had a period. I was 8 weeks before I found out. They didnt do ultrasounds as often as they do now, so honestly it didnt really even hit me until we had our one and only ultrasound and I actually saw him.
I was teeny tiny when I got pregnant and until I was about 7 months I just looked bloated. I honestly took a pregnancy test every few weeks because I had no symptoms at all. Besides the fact that I was 18 and in total denial that this was happening to me even though I knew I was having unprotected sex.
Anyway, CONGRATS!!!
Congrats Amer! What a crazy story... hope the next few months are less surprise-filled!
I believe Ann Taylor Loft has a maternity line with dresses. Probably cheaper than Pea in the Pod - although their sales can be really good!
