It's our anniversary. We have no plans.
My family never did anything for that weekend, just enjoyed the extra day off and nice weather (hopefully), but i know a lot of people do plan stuff.
It worked out well for our wedding because we had a lot of out of town guests and it made it easier for them, but i do know some people complained.
Personally, if someone has a wedding on memorial day weekend i don't mind because i feel like it's a celebration, can be a lot of fun, and gives me something to do. Unless it was for a close friend, i wouldn't be too thrilled about a shower though. Even though it's only a few hours, it pretty much eats up your day and isn't as fun as a wedding.
We usually take Memorial Day, 4th of July & Labor Day weekends to travel to either Pittsburgh to see my SIL or Chicago to see the IL's so it makes the trip longer than a quick 2 day weekend there.
This year we're going to FL the Sat. of Memorial Day weekend, since the following Sat. we have a wedding in St. Pete Beach, so we thought we'd make a vacation out of it so it's 1 less day DH has to take for a vacation day.
B was born on the 28th, so we're going home to celebrate his 1st birthday and *hopefully* get him baptized, finally!
