Gas prices ruining lives? and clicky poll
Re: Gas prices ruining lives? and clicky poll
*butting in* my dad is a VW diesel fanatic. He had a TDI drove it for 10+ yrs, sold it and bought a new one. He loves them.
H has said before that he's read that Americans have a negative savings rate. So while it's sad, the poll is not surprising.
When I dropped $700 on one of my cats at the e-vet, a CW said "I don't know what I'd do if that happened to me."
Did I want to spend that on my cat? No. But I love her dearly and will do anything to make sure she's ok. That's why we have an emergency fund. For when little cats decide to eat ear plugs.
5 cats. 1 baby.
It stinks to pay more, but we both have really short commutes, so it doesn't hit us as hard.
Now, if either of us had an hour or more commute, it would sure hurt our budget a lot more.

Yep! Both were VW's. Car #1 was a VW Golf TDI and Car #2 is a Jetta TDI. I would have stuck with car #1 since it was paid off but I really needed a 4 door vehicle with the baby.
I really love VW. If they had made the Tiguan in a diesel we probably would have gotten that instead of the Jetta. However, the Jetta actually has a bit more trunk space, surprisingly.
DH has the VW CC (gas) and that gets really good mileage too, like 30 MPG.
