Re: Chit Chat for Thursday
See, to me February is the one that should be removed (sorry to any Feb. babies out there). It's not even a real month for crying out loud--and it just adds a day in when it feels like it! Who does that? That's like getting an invite for you and your date to a wedding and you reply with a plus 4.
This morning I had an English muffin at Subway for breakfast, it was okay, not great. I really wanted chocolate milk but knew I should get tea or orange juice instead - I got the chocolate milk and sadly, it wasn't that great.
I ripped my shirt this morning with my E-ring. Kind of frustrating.
Sunroofs in cars were made for mornings in Texas. The wind and the new Britney Spears song really improved my morning.
This this this! Except Kate Voegele instead of Britney.
I can't tell you how many times I give in to what I really want (or what I thought I wanted) and it turned out to be a huge disappointment.
Yes, I continue to learn this the hard way. 300 calories for chocolate milk v. 110 calories for orange juice = 20 more minutes of running than I had planned for this afternoon.
Fruit and yogurt parfaits made with greek yogurt aren't the same. I hate that greek yogurt is better for me than regular.
I love it that my week is so stress free so far that greek yogurt is the only thing on my mind.
There was something recently that I really regretted because it was such a disappointment but I can't remember what it was.
Leslie,
What is your workout regiment? I am going to work out for two hours a day M/T/Th/F this summer. Wednesday is swimming with friends so I'll get a little workout then.
You could also look at is this way though: The glycemic index of chocolate milk is way lower than orange juice (by half) and has roughly 9grams of protein which will keep you feeling fuller throughout the morning.

Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday - I run/walk, generally 3ish miles of running and half a mile to a mile of walking for warm up/cool down. I am working on increasing both speed and distance during these runs. I do arms weight training these days as well. The run/walk usually is 45 min to an hour, weights 15-30 minutes depending upon if I killed it during the run...haha.
Sunday, Monday, Wednesday - I do a workout from EA Sports Active 2 for Wii - There is a a 9 week challenge and you do a trainer led workout 3 times a week for 9 weeks, I am just finishing the medium level this week - moving to hard next week. If I feel up to it, I will do legs weight training on these days but I am finding the running to be building serious muscles in my legs. These workouts are generally 45 min to an hour.
Friday - Sometimes I do a run if I am feeling it or I just take a rest day. I find my runs are generally better on Saturday morning if I do a rest day.
I have been using MyFitnessPal for iPhone to track calories and they put me on a 1300 cal/day diet. That is to lose 2 pounds a week with no exercise, so to avoid starving myself I have to eat back half or more of my exercise calories, which I also enter into the app.
Meh - Thanks! That is a good way to look at it...and chocolate milk is (generally) just so freaking good!
Oh I really like my fitness pal! It's so easy to use! ... now if I would just remember to enter all my food
a few weeks ago I asked a question about my legs being so sore when I run, and yall suggested a foam roller. It worked miracles! My legs have never felt better!
Re: chocolate milk
I've been reading and hearing every where that chocolate milk is supposed to be the best thing to drink after a work out. However, I'm pretty sure I'd get sick or something.
RE: Chocolate Milk.
@Julie - if you drink it the second you finish, I can see getting sick for sure. bleh. But if you drink it after you've cooled down a bit, it is great. It is one of my main motivations for working out!
@ Summer: Do you watch Happy Endings? Yesterday you typed amazing just like the girl Penny says it on the show. I adore that show. I am literally laughing out loud for most of it. Wednesdays have become my favorite tv nights with Modern Family, Cougar Town and 2 episodes of Happy Endings. The :30 minute sitcom has returned! Of course I still make us watch Jeopardy before all this mindless hilariousness ensues.
I have been absolutely horrible this week with working out. I haven't done it since last Wednesday. I had Thursday off but then on Friday when I got home, I got changed, sat on the couch and next thing I know is that I am waking up. Saturday I didn't want to wake up any earlier than I already had to. Sunday was my day off and this week has sucked ass. But I've hardly been eating since last Friday so something has to cancel something out somewhere.
TCU's football team drinks chocolate milk after a workout or game. And (ahem, Summer) beer is supposedly good for you as well post workout.
I do, as a matter of fact! But, I wasn't thinking about that when I wrote it! hahaha
DH and I LOVE that show. hil-arious. I really hope it keeps going and it's not one of those new sitcoms that only lasts a few seasons and gets the boot.
ETA: Sarah,
You know I've heard before that it's actually good for your body to take off some time from your workout routine when aunt flo is visiting, if that makes you feel better
I'm waiting for DH to get off his conference call, then we're leaving for Houston.
I'm really trying to contain my excitement.

Haha. Hope you guys have some fun. Tell your DH I said good luck! What's his goal time?
Thanks girl! We are going to see my BIL and SIL while we are there, and nephew. That will be fun.
His goal is just to finish this time, honestly. He hasn't trained nearly as much as he did for the past two Ironman, and he knows that. Normally he does one a year, but this one is only 6 months from his last one in November so he's had a hard time finding the motivation to start training so soon after his last.
This is his last one for a few years, he's going to take a break and focus on the short distance tri's.
Summer - good luck to your DH!

Thanks Lauren!

I can't stand matchy-matchy E-pic outfits. White shirts and jeans, etc. My Facebook friends apparently think it's cute.
Yes that makes me feel a lot better! :-D I did do a workout this morning and feel slightly better :-p

Me either really. I like some of them, but it just depends on how the pictures look. If they are old school then I don't like them and if they are like Brianna's then I love them. I thought hers were super classy and timeless!
I so agree Summer. We had some friends who recently did white shirts with khacki shorts for both of them and it just wasnt cute. I am all for coordinating but you do not need to match.
Aw thanks! Ours were white shirts and jeans... but the shirts weren't the same style or anything.
