Re: FFFC
I need to get this out. And let me preface this with neither I nor any of my engaged/married friends had an engagement party, so I don't know the norms or specific etiquette.
My brother and his finance got engaged on Easter. I knew her mother really wanted to throw them an engagement party and had been told the date (which is one of my good friend's bdays so I'm kinda bummed about that, but they are inviting my friend to the party).
We got the invitation yesterday. It included registry info. WTF?! They haven't been engaged a month and they are already registered? I know it is because they are buying a new construction house and are closing late summer. And after I thought about it I figured it was probably a good idea that they registered because people will most likely bring gifts and they might as well get something they actually want. Okay, fine. But to put the info in the invitation? I think it is gift grabby. And I'm perturbed (obviously). (I think registry info in shower invites is okay.)
Oh and also, my brother and FSIL are 3 & 5 years younger than me respectively. Recently they've been coming out to events (like bday gtgs) with my friends. I'm fine with this, but on one hand it is kind of weird. I mean, they're my HS friends and their SOs. But whatever. Since they've been hanging out my brother invited some of them to their engagement party. I hope they aren't insulted by the registry info and think they were invited so they'd bring gifts.

CRAFTY ME
my read shelf:
An exBF is getting married in a few weeks I think... and I can't wait to stalk pics on FB. I have no idea what I was doing dating him in the first place-- yuck. I still am dying to see pics and judge his wedding.
First, I want a cleaning lady! Second, I hide the bags too.
CRAFTY ME
my read shelf:
Sam, I can't believe he hasn't noticed yet!
I also hide shopping bags from DH. If he's home when I come back from shopping, I leave them in the car until he's not home.
I'm not sure which of these I find more hilarious. Men are so dumb.
I was so tried this morning that I put on two different colors of eyeshadow. Clearly I did not have my coffee yet.
I also hide shopping bags from DH...especially shoes. When he asks, are those new, I always reply. No, I have had them for a while and I was waiting for the right outfit to wear them!
My FFC....I've gained 6 lbs in the past 3 weeks. I hope it's just retaining water and not the fact that I've been all sorts of terrible with food lately.
I also had birthday cake at work 3 days this week and a blizzard for dessert last night....guess that's not helping my hopes of weight loss?
Me too
CRAFTY ME
my read shelf:
i shop mostly online and feel a need to vanish my packages before anyone sees.
this is ridiculous since all of our accounts are joint (and my CC shows on Mint).
I also have not done any work. I am paying some bills and making a grocery list and menu plan for next week.
LOL, I don't hide my online shopping packages or bags, but I always tell DH what I buy b/c I get buyer's remorse. I rarely buy stuff for me, though. It's always for M (she can't possibly wear all the clothes I bought for her this summer!) or the household, so when I do actually purchase something for me he's actually glad.
This isn't flameful and most of you already know....just two more cycles before we start TTC again!
We're so excited, but a small piece of me already worries how M will handle not being the only center of our world. Then, I see how excited she gets when she sees her older cousins and how she loves playing with them and I think she'll be okay.
I secretly get really proud when i see Mariela doing things her older cousins didn't/don't do at her age. She actually fed herself apple sauce with a spoon this morning, she eats anything, and she already has a pretty large vocabulary for a gal her age (and it's english and spanish). i know all kids develop differently, but it makes me feel like we might actually be doing something right when I compare her to the boys. Girl power!
bwahahahah! I'm sorry but this is awesome
One of my coworkers once wore two different colored high boots (brown and navy, I believe) to work, with a skirt, so it was obvious. So she had to stand there in front of students teaching all day.

Speaking of shopping, this was this morning:
Yes, that's 10 cases of tea. It was BOGO plus a 10% case discount.

1. I am not happy with my post pregnancy body. Things just aren't the same and I knew it was going to happen but I still don't like it. It makes me self conscious especially when I'm teaching.
2. I saw a former athlete of mine at the gym today and I seriously thought to myself, "is she eating" but I didn't say anything because she has always been trying hard to lose weight to have the "gymnast body she is supposed to have"
3. I really wish we were driving up to the IL's tonight instead of tomorrow morning. It is a 6 hour drive, if we left tonight Lucy would sleep most of the ride. Since we are going tomorrow morning it is going to be harder with her. DH is going to be too tired after work to make the trip, which I understand, but it isn't my preference
haha, P looks sooo unimpressed.
I never knew an almost 2 year old could roll his eyes, but he definitely can, and does.

hahahaha
Seriously.
I bought 10 new tops online last week, and they were delivered to my office today. JS stopped in when he got home and saw the bag. He asked what I had gotten, so I started pulling things out and showing him. He held everything up, told me what he liked about everything, what was going to look cute, etc. He even mentioned a top that I already own that would look great with a skirt that I bought (?!).
Wade never commented on anything I wore, even when I would ask out right what he thought of something. He'd never go shopping with me, either.
JS wants to go to the Mall of America with me, and tonight we're going to Bed Bath and Beyond.
I wish Wade would have shown more interest.
I used to do this ALL the time when I was with Wade. It wasn't worth the lecture! I also had a rule of 25 - 50. Meaning I'd say I spent 25 - 50% less than I actually did
Hmmm, I feel like this should have been my FFC for the past 3 weeks. I haaaaaaaate my joooooooob.
