What would your name have been if you were born in 2010?
(Stolen from the SAHM board.)
Go to the SSA site and look up the rank of your name for the year you were born. Then look up the corresponding name for that rank in 2010.
When I was born in 1975, my name (Kimberly) was #7.
In 2010, I would have been named Abigail.
Re: What would your name have been if you were born in 2010?
Sarah - #5 in '83
Ava - #5 in '10
Christopher was between Breanna and Margarita as a girl's name!? That seems so weird, I've never heard of a girl named Christopher.
Wow, our name really jumped in popularity in the six years between us!
However if you went with the more conventional spelling of Kristin (with an e instead of the second i) that was #36 and I would be a Taylor... much better than Khloe... I like the name Chloe, not Khloe...
Just think of how many Kristin/ens there are if "en" was number 36 and "in" was #42!
It did...and now it's down to 131.
I could look at names all day!
I just told DH that if he had been born last year, his name would have been Logan (statistically speaking). He looked at me like WTF? LOL.
I was also browsing around the names near Helen (#369) in 2008. She just missed being Madisyn, Tatum, or Nataly.
I also noticed that #351 was Nayeli. I've never even heard of that name! In what part of the country is that more popular than Helen?!
You have simultaneously made and ruined my evening. MH had pretty much the same reaction. He humored me, but when I kept talking he looked at me like "really? I paused the Tivo for this??"
If Owen (#51) was a girl, popularity-wise he would've been Jasmine. Yuck...not my style at all.
DH's name has increased in popularity since he was born
was 130 in '84 now 35
He would be Marcus - which really is not that far from Lucas
Marcus and Ava
Ditto
So, in 1974, Daniele was # 992 (Danielle was # 40). In 2010, Lilith was # 992 (Riley was # 40).
a) I'm surprised they even had my spelling ranked in the top 1000, seeing as how it's the old French spelling and I've yet to meet anyone in the USA with my spelling, except for one person whose last name was spelled Daniele.
b) I am so glad I wasn't born in 2010 (for a number of reasons, really) because Lilith and Riley are just not "me." Lily would be fine, but no way am I a Lilith. And let's face it-- when I think of my personality, a sweet flower is not what comes immediately to mind! LOL
This was fun, though!
No offense to the Rileys and Riley lovers on this board, but to me Riley is a dog's name. I've known/know SEVERAL Golden Retrievers and Yellow Labs named Riley.
I don't think of Lilith as a sweet flower -- I think of Cheers and that awesome sculpture in the MFA (which is kind of creepy). But you're right, you don't seem like a Lilith.
If you used Megan - it would be Amelia #41 which I love and was high on my list for DD
If you used Meghan it would be #164 and would be Summer. Soooo not me. Every girl I went to school with in the South was named some derivative of Summer or Crystal.
Erika was #104 in 1978. If I were born in 2010, I would have been Ellie. Not so far off and a decent fit!
Hubby Adam was #36 in '76. He'd be Evan by 2010 standards. Also not bad and a similar feel.
Interesting...
#143 in 1987 in 2010 I would have been Aliyah. I don't feel much like an Aliyah.
DH was #20 in 1984 which would make him a Joseph today. I don't see him as a Joseph but I think that the names are comparable in origin.
Wow, my spelling was actually on the list!
- Jaclyn, #134 in 1984
- Lyla, #134 in 2010
Huh. Not bad.
Matt's name was #3 in 1982 (shocker!). If born last year he would've been a Michael. Although it would be kind of funny if the #2 and #3 for last year were switched because #2 is the little dude's name.
Fun! Sarah was #4 in 1981 and Olivia was #4 in 2010. Funny because Olivia was on our short list for girl names for Eli, but I felt like it was too popular.Tim was #26 in 1983 and John was #26 in 2010.
Elias was #158 in 2009 (Eli was #90). The girl names of the same rankings were Aliyah and Katelyn. In 2010 the boy names that had those rankings were Cody and Carlos. In 1981 Eli was #346 and in 2010 it was #65. Times change!
Kristen - #73 in 1976
So that would make me Trinity. That made me laugh and think of The Matrix.
