Re: B&M Monday
We moved this weekend - in the rain - and I'm so tired. Thank goodness we're only reviewing this week for finals and working on grade recovery. I would be in a world of hurt if I had to actually teach this week.
Only 4 more full days and 4 half days. I can make it!!
I wish it would be acceptable for us to do grade recovery. We have to teach/present new material up until Thursday. We have RRR days for Friday and next Tuesday.
That almost sounds like a number they just picked out of a hat.
I have some kids who could use some grade recovery time but I don't think that would float very well over here.
Do you ever find yourself being upset at someone for what they did, yet they turn it around and are upset at you just because you are upset with them? Even worse, I am finding myself trying to get back into their good graces. WTH? Why do I do that?
We are supposed to go visit my dad this weekend but for a variety of reasons, I don't really care to right now. So I'm trying to find something for us to do instead that would be relaxing. I found 1 B&B that sounds interesting but it's 5 hours away; I thought about Hot Springs but it is 5 hours away...everything that I am coming up with is 5 hours away so I thought about doing something local. I just can't make up my mind. Any suggestions? I don't really have a budget in mind either.
DH has been with me the last 4 days and now he's back at work and I kind of miss him.
I also have no idea what to do today.
That's not lame. I always miss DH on Mondays, because I'm so used to hanging around with him all weekend long.
Julie, what school do you teach at again?
I'm just tired. I had an awesome weekend with great friends. Wish it didn't end as soon as it did but now I'm just exhausted. We stayed up until 5am Friday night/Saturday morning and then 3am Saturday night/Sunday morning. I'm not 19 anymore and my body doesn't do well with that little of sleep but I wouldn't change a think about this weekend.
The only think I really have to B&M about is that I'm having b-pics done on Friday with my sisters and I still have no idea what to wear. We get 2 outfits each and I just haven't had time to go shopping and find something I like.
We still have 3 WEEKS of school left. There is a good chance I will kill a student before then, and I don't think I should be held responsible. The district is at fault for holding us hostage until June 10.
There was a baby bird under my car this morning who must have been blown out of his nest by the storm. I got him to hop under a bush in the yard, but I'm so sad that he probably won't survive the day. He was hopping all around and chirping. I can't stop thinking about him :-(
Shannon,
That's so tough about the baby bird. I would probably be thinking about him all day long as well.
And....we heard about your district and we heard that they didn't apply for the waiver like we did. Is that true?
Oh good. At least I'm not alone
.
Monday's are always difficult due to this. Are you feeling a little better?
Ahhh... I'm sure that's hard. Just try to think that he is in happy bird world and safe!!

I don't know, we're only making up the 2 snow days that are built into the calendar, we just started late this year, and I really think we work more days that some other districts. I don't get why!!!
DH's birthday party was Saturday night and was fun. My B&M involves the surprise guests who were waiting in my driveway when I got home from book club. My in-laws and DH's grandmother & great-aunt and three other of his family members.
It was a party with lots of alcohol and friends - nothing says drink up like your parents and grandmother! I mean, DH was glad to see them, but kind of wished they would have at least called to let us know they were coming.
My house was still a mess from that morning, DH didn't get to shower because he instead had to entertain them while I cleaned/made food and went to the store for more food - because we now had 7 additional guests.
Then my MIL says to me " Wow, I really thought you would be more prepared." YOU SHOWED UP THREE HOURS BEFORE THE PARTY...COMPLETELY UNEXPECTEDLY!
OMG girl, that's no fun. I am sure that is hard. I went through that for about a year with my DH. I didn't like it at all, except sometimes it was nice to have a day to myself. To do girly things like hit up Hobby Lobby! LOL
I am the same way with Mondays, especially since Matt doesnt work right now I seriously debate calling in most Mondays because I hate leaving knowing that I could spend more time with him.
Shannon, That is so sad about the bird, I will be thinking about that all day now.
Yes, Julie. I am. Hard to tell if it's the pain meds, or the antibiotics though. I just hope this antibiotic ends up working when it's all said and done. We won't know until we find out the results of the culture. They should call today or tomorrow.
I feel the same way during the weeks when Chris is home. I hate going to work while he's here all snuggled up in bed!!
That stinks, Brianna. I know how that feels, though. My ex was a cop and we worked completely opposite schedules and didn't get much time together. And I'm sure it's even harder when you have a child!
Do y'all try to make time for a date night during the week, or something like that?
That's just odd. However, we will be working on Sat. the 4th. All day and graduation is that night and most of us have to go.
No dates nights for us typically... maybe once every couple months. Our "local" babysitters are in Grand Prairie and Denton... we live in Grapevine and I work in Plano... so once we're home, we're home.

Well, dang. I say y'all need to find a closer babysitter

Waying heavily on my mind would be losing the flying benefits (if that's possible). However, I hope he finds something fulfilling soon.
Doesn't your insurance cover hail damage?

Yes, but then we have a premium increase according to DH. Hopefully the hail won't materialize.
