Re: B&M Monday
That's been the reason he's stayed so long. He actually works for Am Eagle, which has potential to be sold off, resulting in loss of privileges on AA... which would make his job much less attractive. Plus, his benefits are WAY more expensive than an AA employee's are.

Hmm, well I would say the amount it would raise your premium would be less than the amount you would pay if you paid for the damage out of pocket.
Sarah,
Sorry about your work situation. I think there are plenty of jobs out there right now, it's just a matter of finding them. As sad as it is to say, our job market is actually better than it has been in a while.
I know it is scary and such a daunting task but it doesn't hurt to look and apply. If you get offered a job, you don't have to say yes.
Oh, I almost forgot.
A drawback of having a gas hot water heater? Um, well it really sucks when the pilot light goes out and you have to take a cold shower.
Ugh.
I don't know if this is our situation but sometimes, ours just says "Yeah, I'm not going to give you any hot water for your shower. Deal with it."
This happens a lot with my vitamins, I hate it!
Due to my sinus problems, I usually gag when I take my vitamins and some of the bigger pills.
Depends on how much the premium increases and how much your deductible is. If your premium increases, then that's more money over many months and may cost more than if you would have just paid out of pocket. My .02.
True.
That's true...it's just been so long since I've looked for a job! And I don't know where to look really. I mean I know the typical places, but it seems like getting a job here is all about the people you know.

Luckily the hail was small and did not damage my car. The NWS reported ping pong to golf ball size at the FW zoo though, crazy.
What type of job are you looking for?

When I was job hunting, I used all the job search engines such as Monster, CareerBuilder, etc. I uploaded my resume and 75% of the emails I would get pertained to sales positions, which I wasn't interested in. However, some were actually related to the field I was looking for. I just basically browsed those websites all day every day and sent tons of emails with my resume, even if I didn't think I had the "required experience". Let them tell you no.
I also used my college career center website.
I know that's not much help, but that was my MO when I was job hunting.
ETA: A strong resume is key.
Sarah, I've heard that you should apply to jobs where you meet 80% of the qualifications. As far as knowing people, do you have any former professors you were close with? You could ask them if they know who's hiring in the area. Also, talk to your friends about wanting to find a new job. Put a bug in as many ears as you can, so that people will think of you when they hear about an opening.
Jaymi, what about Glen Rose/Granbury? We did that once. We went to Dinosaur Valley State Park, stayed the night at a B&B in Granbury, then visited Fossil Rim the next day before driving home. It was fun and not too expensive.

I use indeed.com, the student career services for UNT and TWU even though I am not a student and the paper.
I know UNT Career Services has lists of employers specifically for each major, which I thought was really neat. You can gain access to that even if you weren't a student here.
Others: linkedin.com, craigslist, monster, dice
EDIT: I found this while looking for someone else: http://careercenter.unt.edu/sites/default/files/pdf/students/majors/coas/political_science.pdf

Just do it!
Ugh. I fear the same thing with my MIL this weekend. I'm hoping since SIL and her fiance are going to be in Mexico, that she won't try and have people over. Crossing my fingers.
Which B&B did you stay in? I saw The Inn and was really interested in it until I saw the price!
My B&M: I had a fantastic weekend, but I'm exhausted. I kept waking up this morning and then going back to sleep - until 8.05. So, I was late. Oops.
Also, I really miss DH... my house is just lonely with him gone, and then last night I kept being a scaredy cat at dumb noises. I had been doing really good about not getting scared over nothing, but not so much any more.
We stayed here: http://www.manoroftime.com/index.php
The room we stayed in had a bunch of WWII memorabilia, which was kind of weird, but it was walking distance to the downtown/square area, which was nice.
We LOVED the Inn! Your right, it was a bit pricey but it was really nice.
Conversation I am having right now:
Person on the phone: What's your first name?
Me: Julie.
PoP: Is that with a "y"?
Like July??
Yeah.
Also, I know we've talked about it before, but I am going to have a company called Cottage Care come and clean my house on Wednesday. For our 2000 sq. ft. house, she's going to charge me $100 for the first cleaning and $85 for every other week. I'll let you know what sort of job they do. It's almost 1/3 the price of Merry Maids.
Does anyone want to be around family this weekend? LOL.
