Re: QOTD

  • Yes- we were in and out of the house all weekend, so it made it too tough to keep windows open.  Plus with it raining at night

Yes.  We actually had it on a few weeks ago when it hit 80 and then turned it off.  Gabriel has a really hard time sleeping when it's hot.  He's typically a warm body, so rather than fight with him all night we turned it on.

Same reason we turned ours on.  Nick is a warm baby.  Our house said it was 75, I was fine, but he was miserable.

Kbaby likes to give me a hard time b/c Gabe never has pants on when it's hot :)  The socks are usually the first to go, then the pants.

Nick doesn't wear socks or pants when it's warm out either :)  I had him in short yesterday, but that only lasted a few hours.

  • We made it until about 10PM last night.  Once that breezed died down, there was no way I was going to be able to sleep with the humidity.  If we had a ceiling fan in the bedroom, I might be able to deal with it, but it was just too stuffy upstairs.  Our thermostat said 78 downstairs, so I knew it was going to be hot upstairs.

The poor kitties were all flopped over cool areas in the house and noses were bright pink.  Poor babies.

  • Nope, I loved having all the doors and windows open.

I turned ours on, but we went out of town and left the dogs at home (our neighbor was watching them) and I worry about them getting too hot.

But we have a tiny house, and this is pretty much the only good thing about it, heating and cooling it is pretty cheap! We don't hesitate to turn the air on whenever we get hot, and heat on whenever we get cold. The last couple weeks we have had both heat and a/c running!

    We tried...

  • No, we haven't turned it on yet.  We are looking into getting a fan for the master bedroom.  But for the most part we get pretty good air flow through our house with the windows open.

  • Nope. We had all the windows in the house open instead.

  • I caved yesterday after trying to get some cleaning done around the house.  I am 9 months pregnant and just couldn't take it anymore!  I have no idea how hot it is outside right now, but the air is still kicking and I am happy! :)

Nope, I don't have central air.  I use window air conditioners and since the temps have been bouncing around so much they haven't gone in the windows yet.  It wasn't so bad really though.  I put on the ceiling fan last night when I went to bed and that was all I really needed.
