So, H's best man from our wedding (and the guy who introduced us!) is getting married on October 8. He asked H to be in his wedding party. Now, at the end of May, we have still not received a save the date or any information about the wedding at all other than the date. I'm talking we don't even know what time the ceremony is.
I guess they have time left to get things together but it's coming up on the four month mark and the clock is ticking. His FI mentioned that there will be over 300 people there since they both have large families so it would seem like they would want to be right on top of this. It's out of state in NY and we still need to know about traveling, booking a hotel, time off of work, the Bachelor / Bachelorette party, rehersal dinner, pretty much everything. Does anyone else find this weird? H seems to think they still have plenty of time, but I reminded him that I mailed out our save-the-dates 6 months in advance for the people traveling out of state. I want to have him ask them how the wedding plans are coming along, but don't want to nag anyone or seem rude.

I think it's weird to those of us who did and believe in save the dates. It is totally foreign to someone like me who is a planner.
However, it's easy to forget that not too too long ago, no one EVER did a save the date. You knew when the wedding was by word of mouth or when you got your invite in the mail, and you booked your hotel and all then too.
