Confessions anyone?

Ok, so it is not confessions day....but I have a confession I need to get off my chest.

I didn't just dislike, but HATED the movie the Hangover.   I thought it was terrible and I didn't even watch the whole thing.   I generally like stupid comedy movies and I just really didn't even find it funny, at all.

Can someone please explain to me why on earth everyone on God's green earth thinks its the best movie ever made?

I don't get it either.  I always feel like I missed something in the movie even though I watched the entire thing.

  • Tiffany- I refused to watch that movie because I thought it looked stupid.  So I am probably the only one who hasn't even attempted to watch it.  I just knew I wouldn't like it.

  • Tiffany - that totally disappoints me!  :)  I thought that it was way funny... but mostly because of Alan and his dry sense of humor.  I love that.  But, best movie ever?  No... not even close.
  • I'm struggling because I don't know what to do.

I loved The Hangover but then I like inappropriate things.  The Goods is a little more inappropriate than The Hangover.

  • I agree 100% on the Hangover. I also thought the gross humor in Bridesmaids was stupid too. My cousin who saw both movies with me? Rolling in the floor laughing. So maybe it's just a preference?

A part of me wants to say something about this whole TK vs TN thing going on over on TK right now, but more of me just wants to not be involved. I just hope N&M doesn't get wind of it...

I think this is why I loved the movie so much.  He has some great one liners that just got me.  I think watching it with 4 guys at the movie tavern the first time was my favorite part because they were laughing so hard!  I'm actually excited to see the 2nd one.  But I'm like Julie were inappropiate things make me giggle.

Honestly, it's not a flame against you - do I hope like hell N&M doesn't jump all into the thread about what elitist witches she perceives us to be? Yes, but you have just as much a right to be mad about something as I do.

I just don't understand what the big deal is about people posting over here. We don't ask every new person who pops up over here for their martial status, so what does it matter if someone wants to come and post over here if they have been on the Knot/Nest/Bump for 5 years or 5 minutes.

I think we all left TK to get away from the drama that seemed to be more constant over there and some how we have now been involved in two instances of drama with TK in the last two weeks.

I feel like with the group of girls we have over here any new person that posts and is obviously immature or annoying won't stick around anyway because we tend not to be drama feeders. If a new person posts and they are cool, that's fine - stick around, we were all new once.

Honestly if whoever posted last week had just started posting and hadn't mentioned who she was nothing would have even be said/started. As Brianna said, we are not The Nest Police - and from the looks of the thread last week, we don't seem to be the ones imposing these "rules" about who can post and who can't. I'm not sure where the "rules" came from but they are ridiculous.

If you want to talk about weddings, engagements, bachelorettes go to TK, if you want to talk about diapers, cervical mucas and daycare go to TB, anything else - welcome to TN!

  • I had a few laughs over it, but it wasn't that great.  I have a weird teeth-losing-phobia, so I was unbelievably stressed/grossed out about that the whole movie, so I couldn't enjoy it.  I think if it hadn't had that part, I would have been more open minded about enjoying the rest of it... as is, I never want to see it again, and I'm still undecided about #2.

I confess that I'm worried about family drama this weekend... Me, my sis/BIL, and bro/SIL will all be at my parents - which doesn't happen very often.  Their dogs don't get along well, as in, want to rip each other's throats out, which leads to similar feelings for the pet-parents.  It's a stressful situation, and I've been trying to convince my sis to try to work on their dogs getting along better, but I'm just a bit nervous about it.

I confess that I don't know why I had a dream and Julie was in it.

We were in a supermarket scavenger hunt against each other. Then someone from the knot that I vaguley recognized ( and wouldn't be able to remember who they were now) came in and teamed up with Julie, so it was 2 against one. Then we were down to the last item, and both of us were reaching for it at the same time. The knottie knocked me down, and Julie grabbed the item, and they won.

Anyone care to attempt to interpret that one? LOL.

No idea about interp, but does anyone remember that game Supermarket Sweep? I used to watch that every day during summer vacation when I was in middle school. I sort of loved it.

I used to watch it all the time!  I was actually thinking about that show when reading Kathy's post.

It's weird that Kathy had a dream with a nestie and they are talking about dreams with knotties on the other board.  Sarah (SparklingDiamond) asked me in my dream last night if the song playing was DMB.  And then we were both excited we both knew DMB.

  • I confess I would like to slightly strangle my husband.  His friend called last night to see if we wanted to get together on Saturday night.  Why does he have to say "OMG that sounds like SO much fun but I'll have to check with Jaymi first."  Why can't it be "Let me check the calendar"?  Why must it be up to me?  And if we don't go, who does it look bad upon?  Me.  I've been waiting for a night at home where we can just chill and it keeps getting pushed back.  We have had stuff going on every night and haven't been able to relax and have a night at home in like 3 weeks.  I will be skipping church and the like on Saturday to sleep in and go out Saturday.

This.  DH always makes it seem like whether we participate in something is 100% up to me.  And if I say no, then I seem like the bad person.  A good example - one of our couple friends wanted to get together for dinner.  DH plays bball with the husband and some other guys.  The husband tells everyone at the bball game about the dinner.  DH KNOWS at this point that we already have plans.  Does he say anything? No.  So, when we say we cannot go later, it looks like I said no.  WTF!

  • Lacey - DH is the same way..... except only if it is something he DOESN'T want to do.   That way I am predestined to be the bad guy even if we are free and I don't mind doing whatever it is.
  • It's the same with my DH.  Now I make him decide on some things and tell him I'm not making the decision because I don't want to be the bad guy!

  • I confess I hate the hangover and most stupid funny movies in general.

I also confess I am having the day from hell and fell as though I have pissed the world off and caused a ton of extra work for people that could have been prevented had I thought about how something I did would be percieved.  I am in need of alcohol after work in a very bad way.

  • I confess I love the Hangover and cannot wait to see the sequel tomorrow.  BUT, I didn't like it at all the first time I watched and was like, what is all the hype about?  But it comes on cable constantly and now I've seen it a dozen times and still laugh every time.

I confess I don't want to go to Ben's parents' house this weekend.

  • I confess that I think my breasts are smaller now than they were when I was 12 (I've lost a lot of weight since then) and I'm seriously considering breasts implants so I don't feel like a boy in a swimsuit.

I know these are supposed to be flame free but feel free to flame on that one.

Thanks for the positive vibes.  In the past it has been just being understaffed (which is fixed now), I was the only supervisor for 60 people.  Today however is something I did that has people in an uproar and is causing work for HR and people above me to do damage control. :(

I confess that I'm lurking today mostly, but couldn't resist commenting.  I have the same problem, Brianna.  Well I don't think it's a problem! LOL  When we were looking through our pictures yesterday, I got emotional too when I saw the ones of our first dance.  I confess I started singing "Marry Me" in my head.  :~)
