I'm glad you got it to work, cause after last night I REALLY need to discuss Bachelorette!

  • Dear weekend-

     Thank you for some relaxation.

     Dear nesties-

Hope you got to do some relaxing too!

  • Dear Nesties,

I was lurking right when y'all switched over here (from the Knot), and I know there were a lot of you just starting to use the Clarasonic and loving it. I finally caved last weekend and bought the cheapie Olay version, and this weekend I have a couple of spots (when I normally only get one from hormones, so it shouldn't be happening now). Did any of you get a little breakout about a week into using it? Just curious if this is a normal part of the exfoliating process, or if my skin is trying to tell me it hates my new gadget and I should give up on it.

  • Dear Nesties,

We got a call that step-daughter fell off the monkey bars at school and may have broken her arm.  She is at CareNow getting x-rays but it's looking like it's broken.  First day of summer and she is hurt already Sad

Update: She broke both bones right above her wrist.  She is off to get a cast now.  Poor thing will be in it most of summer.

Yes, a lot of people experience some "breakthrough" breakouts shortly after they start using the Clarisonic.

It's supposedly all the dirt and crap that isn't normally cleaned off your face using manual washing, coming to the surface and irritating your skin.

I've been using my Clarisonic for about 2 months now, and had a few breakouts right after I started using it but they've essentially stopped now, and I'm back to only breaking out around my period.

Ditto.  Except I've broken out a lot this week, too, but it's mainly because it's getting more humid.  My skin always breaks out when the seasons change.

My skin always breaks out more during the summer in general.

  • Thanks for the reassurance! I Googled this weekend, but just found testimonials like "it's been three days, but my skin is already amazing!" Which just makes me feel worse, with my distinctly un-amazing skin over here.

What's worse is that I'd talked up the product to DH before I even bought it, telling him how awesome it was, etc. (And turning down his suggestions on what to try instead). So, now I really didn't want to be wrong about it!

  • Dear Nesties,

I'm considering going to my NP who does extensive hormone/blood testing to see if she can find out why I am always so tired (no matter how much sleep I get) ... I know it isn't normal because this didn't start until a couple of months ago.

Anyone ever had this done/think it was worth it?   She apparently does saliva testing which is much better than blood testing.    I don't like taking drugs at all, and I'm SO not the person to constantly drink caffeine or 12,000x the daily recomended value of B12. (seriously, I read this on a supplement label...that can't be healthy).   I'm not tired in the morning, it actually usually hits me around mid-afternoon.

I'd rather just find out what's really wrong than try to take things to offset it.

You are so sweet!  It's my current favorite.  I keep switching favorites when I go through all of the pictures again.
