Today my boss was talking about how his son is taking the ACT for the 5th time trying to get his desired score & our intern said he took it 7 times. I took it once & was satisfied & didn't have any friends take it multiple times. So...

Did you take it multiple times?

Were you happy with your score?

Just once, very happy despite having mono during the test.... I think I needed a 25 to qualify for the scholarship I wanted and I got a 34 and the scholarship. Works for me.

Were you happy with your score? Yes. My stuck up boyfriend at the time told me not to expect to get better then his 27. I did. That made me happy :-)

Holy Cow! 7 times?!?! That seems a bit extreme...

I took it twice.

I had a 3 or 4 point increase between my first and second testing, which is pretty significant. I was happy with that. I ended up with a 30 or 31... I don't remember...

Oh man, me and the ACT did not go well together. Despite my high gpa, honors, yadda, yadda, yadda...I got a 20 both times I took it. I still got into the honors program at UMD because of everything else besides that damn ACT score.

I took it twice I think I got a 25 then a 27.

I seem to remember hearing that it was bad to take it a lot, maybe colleges looked poorly upon that? But that was 10+ years ago so I don't have a clear memory.

Meh. I am really good at tests and school. Then my smartass picked architecture and married another architect.................. look how smart I am now *eyeroll*

I blame the ACTs haha

I took it once, I only needed like a 17 or 18 to do sports. I think I got a 25 or something like that.

I am not very good at standardized testing so not failing was good enough for me. I took the ACT twice. The first time I got a 17 and the second time I got a 19. Both scores got me into college so I was happy. My brother on the other hand took the test about 3-4 times and got the same score (15) each time. He even did tutoring and a ton of studying for it. The ACT is just not for some people. Myself included!

See, back east we take the SAT, but I took the ACT as well b/c at the time it had a 'logic' section and I knew I could rock that ***. And I did. But taking the ACT is not common back home.

I think my score was 30? Whatever it was, it was the equivalent of 200 points more than my SAT score. Yeah.

I only took it once, but I thought for sure I would have to take it multiple times. I'm horrible with tests...it seriously causes me to have anxiety attacks.

I believe I received a 26.

I took it twice. The first time I got a 25, was disappointed and then found out that the timekeeper shorted us on time on all of the sections. Our entire group was permitted to retake it for free. I got a 31 the second time.

I took the SAT's too... I also did MUCH better on my ACT's than the SAT's. I actually think it was pretty close to the equivalent of 200 points better than my SAT score too... I am not good at the vocab stuff...

I took it the week my dad died... not a good situation, I actually don't really remember much about taking it..I know my boyfriend drove me and took it took and drove me home...but not much else. I got a 27 I believe...not bad for not remembering it and going through mega sadness

me too!! I was feeling like a dummy reading everyone's scores. I think I got a 21 and like you graduated with honors, was top 10% in my class, blah, blah, blah. I think all the testing is crap if you ask me.

I am also in the same boat as Loki. The SAT's are more widely taken in the south.

I am also in the same boat as Loki. The SAT's are more widely taken in the south.

I graduated 8th in my class out of 342 kids ..... because I got a B in gym class haha.

I took it twice. The first time, I got a 27 and I really wanted to get in to U of M (as well as beat my sister who got a 28), so I took it a second time. I got a 30 the second time which accomplished both (although I originally got deferred at U of M so it wasn't entirely smooth sailing).

Took it 2 times. Got the same score both times. I was happy, but thought I could do slightly better. I got a 27. Out of my siblings I got the lowest score.

I took both the SAT and ACT because I wanted to go to school out of state - I got a 25 on the ACT and I either 1190 or 1290 on the SAT, i can't remember. It got me into the school I wanted so I was good with it!

I took it once, and when I went to turn on my calculator to do the math portion, it didn't work. Awesome. I *think* that I got a 26. I can't remember for sure though, because I took the LSAT twice for law school, and I can't remember those scores for sure either (or even the range). Either way, I did well enough to get a really good scholarship to GVSU, which is where I wanted to go. Once I found out tuition would basically be covered between the merit scholarships and others that I got, I saw no point in torturing myself again.

I took the ACT and LSAT once. I'm not into S&M lol!!!! I got good enough scores to get me into where I wanted to go so no point in retaking.

I took it two times. The first time I did better on two of the sections than I did on the other two. The second time I did better on the opposite two sections than before.

I got a 29 both times. I was miffed that I took it twice and the score didn't even change.

This. In fact, you all are the first people I know who took the ACT. I took the SAT twice, though.
