DH has an AS in Fire Science and is a Firefighter/Paramedic. He has also completed several certificate programs (20+ credit hours) in various search/rescue, confined space, hazmat etc. Besides working full time at the FD, he is an adjunct instructor at Macomb Community College and MSU.
