I have a vent.
I just saw a former coworker in the hallway and we ended up riding the elevator together. As she was getting out, she asked "any children on the way"... uhm, nope. I'm just fat. Thanks for asking though.
I am sure she could have meant "do you have any kids?" but I'm fb friends with her, she would've known if I had kids. I'd be posting picture of them for cryin' out loud.
I know I'm sensitive to those comments but it still doesn't make it feel any better. Granted, it's been 3yrs since she's seen me in person, but still...
She's the second former coworker to insinuate that. WTF people. I'm really going to try and not let it ruin my mood but it's really hard not to. Makes me want to never wear this top that I'm wearing, again. Which will only cause my wardrobe to be that much smaller and makes things that much harder in the mornings.

Re: anyone have Monday vents/confessions/AWs?
I keep having inappropriate dreams about a local Dj.
Melinda, I know you'd get a kick out of that one.
VENT
Huge tree branch half snapped and is about to fall on my veggie garden and garage. There goes more money spent on tree maintenance...
I have an AW -
I got promoted at work last week! I'm now a Senior Web Designer and I'm pretty darn excited about it!
I want to scrub the house before we leave for vacation in 3 DAYS!, but I can't get motivated to get anything done.
Also, I have to go back to my classroom and box up all this crap that I need to get rid of - old groody blenders, mixers, and just JUNK. I didn't want to set food back in my classroom until July when I teach my summer baking class. Also, if I had boxes to pack up the crap, it would already be boxed and ready for them to take away. blargh.
(Hi Puddle!!)
Vent 1: As noted below I REALLY hate car shopping. I just wanted it OVER WITH. NOW! Any cars that get me excited are way out of our budget. :-/
Vent 2: I sleepily reached into my toiletries bag Sunday morning at the cabin and cut my finger on my razor. It bled a LOT and still hurts like a muddahfuggah. It is making typing today hard and that is my finger that types AutoCad commands. :-(
Confession 1: DH's BFF and his fiance that I've never met are coming into town Friday morning. I'm really excited! I confess I really like the BFF's hugs. I'm not attracted to him in any way but he gives the best hugs.
This will be his 2nd wedding so I'm going to try REALLY hard not to call this fiance by his ex-wife's name (they are similar sounding names.) We are all going to the cabin for the weekend and then the fiance is flying home while the BFF is in town all next week working the hockey draft.
Confession 2: We learned about the engagement of one our dear family friends yesterday. My first thought was, "Darn, we have to find somewhere to put the dogs while we go to the oot wedding." Bad Jenny! I am happy for them but the guy is kind of a magoo. As long as they are happy that is what matters.
AW: Ummm....nothing this morning. Ask me again once we've found a car and maybe I'll AW it out.
Hey Kizz! We need to do another GTG this summer. And soon!
I'm dying at Magoo.
YES WE DO!! That was so much fun.
OMG, Magoo totally fits him. Nice guy, but if you met him you'd say, "Oh yeah, what a magoo."
Vent: I got my windshield replaced before we left for Colorado back in April. Last Thursday while driving on the highway of doom (same one that cracked my windshield before) a Mn/DOT truck kicked up a rock and cracked my windshield bad...on Saturday night another rock hit my windshield...now I have two very big cracks, and one that has spidered out...all on a windshield that is only 2 months old!!!
Awww: Ds is on a word explosion...my new favorite word he says is Pineapple (said Pie (pause) Apple). Its too darn cute!!!
That sucks - but your insurance should cover it regardless of timing (yeah MN law that requires no-deductible glass replacement!!). DH's windsheild was hit by a golf ball (live near a golf-course) and needed total replacement . . . and then less than 3 months later it was hit by a baseball (work near a baseball field). Both times we got full replacement without paying a dime . . .of course, the insurance company laughed at us, but it was more of a sympathetic "I can't believe your crappy luck" laugh, so it wasn't too bad!
Vent: Our condo has been on the market for almost two weeks now and we haven't had a single showing.
We got a call for a showing on Friday - but then it came to light that the potential buyer had a dog and wanted to know how flexible our association's "no dog" rule was. Turns out, it isn't flexible at all and there is no chance a dog would be approved . . . so after a flurry of emails and phone calls over the weekend to make sure this rule was firm, we were told that the buyer/looker probably wasn't going to do the showing . . . . but it wasn't confirmed until 8 am this morning. So of course, DH and I cleaned and organized and made everything look pretty . . . only to find out that it wasn't necessary. GRRRR
Thankfully we don't need to sell so we aren't feeling a time crunch or other pressure . . . but it is still really frustrating since we but in a lot of work to get it ready for the market and now we aren't getting any sort of response.
Confession or AW? - I got nuthin'
That is precious!!!
When my did was little she said lots of adorable things. Pasketti (spaghetti), yo-grit (yogurt), and ambooliss (ambulance).
eta: Did should be SISTER. Hahahahahaha. Oops.
Confession: I really need to stop looking at my Heartsy daily emails... I've bought three things off there in the last week. Granted, they are usually gifts for other people, but I need to tame the habit
AW: It's my summer vacation and I'm actually treating it like one - doing what I feel like doing (reading, relaxing, etc). Up till this year I usually felt guilty if I wasn't doing something "productive" - no more!
2nd AW: Hosted a bridal shower for my cousin's fiance and it went really well. Another cousin and I planned all the games and people had fun. I had my living room painted a couple days before the shower and it looks great, and my house is all clean since people were coming over - feels good!
No vents for me... life is good
Confession: I went to a friends bridal shower with a pampered chef host. I was planning to only buy a gift for the bride, but then of course I found a couple items I couldn't live without. $50 later I'm excited for my new items.
Vent: I hate Mondays, especially Mondays where my schedule is booked all day.
I cannot accept this!!!
AW: I got engaged this weekend...
Confession: I'm not getting anything done today because of of the previous issue.
We're kind of going out.
Congratulations!!!!!
Congrats Melinda!!
Congrats!!
Vent:
I'm highly irritated that I'm dealing with my second running injury in the past 4 months. Just got back to training 2 months ago and now I've got a calf strain that's pretty much taken me out entirely from my 1/2 marathon training. It's been a LONG mental battle to accept that.
I hate my leg. I want to cut it off.
:::Our Adoption Journey:::
Evan James was born 1/24/13 and matched with us 2/20/13. The LOVE OF MY LIFE!!!
Congrats! Very exciting news.
Vent: I'm a little upset with a friend over some things she said about my daughter being pregnant and I'm having a hard time getting over it. It's not something I could really talk to her about, and I'm sure I'm just taking it the wrong way, because it's a sensitive subject for me, but it's really getting to me. And I feel like my life is a complete mess compared to her perfect life and I feel like she is just a little judgmental towards some of my decisions.
Confession: We are probably moving to my FIL's when he moves to warmer climate in a few months and I REALLY don't want to. FIL & DH don't want strangers living in the house (it's been in the family since it was built so it has a lot of sentimental value), but I don't really want to live there. But for the amount of money we are going to save in rent/mortgage, I can't really say no.
AW: Can't think of anything.
Congrats Melinda!!
AW: We got our deck finished this weekend (we had paid help...) and I planted my veggie garden. I hope it's not too late in the season to actually get a decent harvest.
Vent: I am feeling a lot of random anxiety lately.. I need some me time to get my life back into a calm place of mind. We've been insanely busy lately, I hope I can just lay outside on a blanket and enjoy the nice weather this evening.

Congrats, Melinda!
Confession: Andy started his next master's program last week, and while I initially thought I would hate him being gone 2 nights a week, I actually kind of enjoyed the nights he was in class last week. Maybe I'll get tired of "me time" eventually, but for now, I'm not hating it.
Vent: The darn gophers in my yard are taking over. I need to get rid of them, and I'm not sure how. I tried the "nice" methods, using 2 different kinds of repellent. They didn't work. I think I have to kill them before they kill all my plants. Ugh. I can't use poison (that can't possibly be dog friendly and I only want to kill the gophers, not my dog!), but the thought of trapping them is so gross. I really don't want to have to dispose of dead gophers. Why can't they just go away on their own?!?!?
Mr. Sammy Dog
Vent: I started classes for my reading licensure at the U today and I feel completely overwhelmed. It's only a two week course, so it should be intensive, but I feel like it's a bit overboard. Apparently all I will be doing is eating/breathing this class.
Congrats, Melinda!
I typed out (and subsequently deleted) two long paragraphs, the contents of which led me to believe I'm having a quarter-life crisis.
margaritas in mexico
Congrats, Melinda!
Vent: I'm seriously wondering if our REA had ever actually sold a house before and completed a closing. We had so many last minute issues Wed-Fri of last week. (A few of which I questioned 6 weeks ago when we were doing the purchase agreement.)
AW: It all worked out and H and I now have a house! I really didn't think we'd be homeowners by 25, but we are. It feels great!
Confession: I really really don't want to pack the rest of our stuff.

AW: FIL is flying into town this weekend for Fathers Day as a gift from MIL. I am not telling DH and he will be shocked when he walks in the door Friday night to his Dad here. I cannot wait!!!
Confession: Since the above is happening I SHOULD be cleaning and although I did a load of laundry, washed the sheets, and the towels. Since LO laid down I haven't done a thing.
Vent: I am helping out at our previous day care. She needs me 2 days a week for the summer, and I hate it but don't feel like I can tell her I don't want to do it, and have to keep reminding myself it's just for the summer.

AW - I'm expecting (for those who know me as I know I've not been on for ages) again...
Vent/confession - My morning sickness decided to come and pay me a visit again and if you remember from my first pregnancy, this was not a pleasant experience and I am really dreading this. I keep having those anxiety feelings that I may be in the hospital again. I also am thinking why am I stupid enough to put myself through this misery again? I just hafta think the end result will be worth it and if everything goes well with the pregnancy, this will be my last one..
