AW/Chit Chat Thursday

I am sitting here full of energy after an awesome workout this morning and no one is here.  I have meetings from 9am-2pm today. :(

Re: AW/Chit Chat Thursday

  • I only have a small AW and that is that as of today, we have been married for two months! :-)  It has gone by pretty fast, but at the same time, it sometimes feels like we have just been married forever!

Congrats, and I completely agree some days I am like wow its been two months since the wedding and other times it feels like we were always married.

  • I am definitely going to check out all those blogs you sent me!  Thank you for doing that :-)  I am excited to make some changes to my diet!  And now it's just deciding what thing I want to change first :-)

I am happy to help in anyway I can, I found those blogs a couple of years ago and they have really helped because most update daily if not 2 or 3 times a day so there is constant food and exercise inspiration.  Many of them have an archive of all their recipes so check those out.  You may want to check the Kath and Carrots ones first as they are both meat eaters, the other are either low meat consumption or veg/vegan but still have yummy recipes.

  • 8 days until I leave for Disney.  I'm very excited but also really nervous.  Nervous because I have been a little sick recently and I'm worried about my stamina.  And also nervous because I'm a little scared to do things alone.  Not worried about my safety, but just worried that I won't actually go out and do things because, in my eye, Disney is something you share with someone else.  All the fun, joy, laughter.  I feel really stupid saying this because I used to do things all the time by myself before I met Bill.  Even now, I still eat alone or go to the movies by myself, but this just feels really different.

I used to be a vegetarian, so I bet I can find stuff on there I like.  I wouldn't mind cutting down my meat consumption again, it's just easier to eat meat when my DH does.  I am just not at that point where I want to make two different meals all the time you know?

I didnt know you were going alone.  I am sure it will all be fine since Disney is magical and all but I can see your point.

That's how I feel almost every day when I start threads and nobody is here!

Although today I slept in and didn't work out because I am exhausted from studying. I have my first test today at 10:30. So we will see how that goes. But luckily after the test I'm home free until Momday, with a minimal amount of work to do.

I just bought $50 worth of clothing from Dress Barn for $25 through CBS deals.

I should have clarified.  Bill comes down later that day (the 24th).  We'll be there together for the first two days.  His conference starts on the 27th and ends on the 29th.  He leaves that night to come home because he doesn't want to use any more vacation than he has to.  He'll come back on the 2nd for what was originally our vacation through the 9th when we come home together.

  • I think we're going to start seriously looking into and preparing for the whole home buying process.  We don't want to deal with a broken lease or pay for two places, so we won't start actively looking until this fall, but it's exciting to think about the future.

PS:  at Dress Barn right now, they are having a sale, 50% off your whole purchase.  I wonder if you can use that deal right now.....

  • Well, I am really excited about Deepthi's wedding!  I bought this dress (Stephie, Lauren, & Renee... I found the actual dress online), and I can't wait to wear it either!  I had no idea that I would love Dress Barn as much as I do... I always assumed it was a grandma store  (no offense anyone).  I just never actually went inside, and I'm glad that I did!

Yay for another Dress Barn girl!  On my side of the store, the other clothes are a little old lady-ish, so the dresses are the only reason I go in.

  • Brianna- That is a cute dress!  I still have to decide what to wear to the wedding!

I always avoided it too because the only times I remember going was with, well my grandma!  I was pleasantly shocked as well and they have some of the cutest things, like your dress!

  • Cute dress!

Is this why you were shoe shopping last night?

  • Such a cute dress Brianna, and I'm with you, I always thought Dress Barn was for older women.  I'll have to check that place out!

Sarah - Probably not.  The houses right near our apartments are pretty pricey.  We're probably going to focus on the Frisco/McKinney area.  It's closer to a bunch of our friends, and have pretty good ratings for the school districts.

Holy crap.  Where was that this weekend?  Maybe I just missed the sign.

I can't print off the deal for another 2 days (when the deal is over) but I will try to use it; if not, I'll split up the purchases because I have to spend it all at once.

  • Yay Disney and home buying! Both fun!

These aren't AWs, as I really don't have one - so more Chit Chat:

I wasn't around yesterday because I got to work, felt a little off and then got super sick. I was at work for 30 minutes then left to go home. I got sick some at home and then felt great in like an hour, like it had never happened. The only time I felt another bit of queasiness was when I was making dinner and the smell of the raw hamburger meat turned my stomach. This morning I feel queasy but not nearly as bad as yesterday. Yes, that is my first thought too, but I think it is too early for this stuff and it's definitely too early to test. I am going with a small stomach bug for now.

I love the Mav's, you love the Mav's but did it really have to take an hour to get to work today? My normal commute is 25 minutes.

I know someone who is very, very early in the pregnancy and they are also made nauseous by hamburger meat, specifically.  I'm just sayin'!   :)

  • Ummmmm.....Leslie!!!! I'm going to try not to get excited yet :)

    Brianna,

Totally unsolicited advice, but if you don't have shoes yet, I would totally suggest a patterned stiletto or a pop of color. I have a cobalt blue pump that would look a-MAH-zing with that dress and the right jewelery. Ugh-I wish I had more occasions to dress up.

    Lauren,

Very exciting about starting the house search process! It is fun to think about for sure!

Yes I think Frisco/McKinney is a great area!  I went to the schools in Frisco and I thought they were pretty good :-p  And I really like living in Frisco.  Especially if you are wanting to start a family, since it's such a family-oriented town.

I know Summer, I don't want to get my hopes up either. I mean I don't want to be let down when it really was just a stomach bug.

Brianna/Summer - I also agree about the color shoes! They would look great!

  • Lauren - Hooray for house buying

    Leslie - Hooray for... :)

Brianna, Love that dress and I totally agree with Summer on a pop of color.  Any pop of color would work.

Summer - Yep, now you are going to have to PIP those shoes - you know how I love shoes.

I got a gel manicure yesterday.  I was thinking of PIPing and then updating everyone on how long it lasts, etc.  But, before I go through all that trouble... does anyone even want to know?  :)
