friday, i welcome you

so.tired.for.no.reason.

went to the beach last night for an hour instead of running :) made frozen pizzas so i didn't have to cook :)  cleaned the entire house except for vacuuming and dusting (gerren's Saturday jobs). :)  three smiles!

wearing my new glasses today.  have not worn glasses in a ***'s age (literally maybe 5 years).  so used to contacts that wearing glasses as strong as mine is very weird.

Best man from the wedding is home for the night and it is hot air balloon festival here this weekend.  we will be grilling, drinking dranks, and relaxing on our deck overlooking the festivities and listening to the music.  tomorrow, errands, 3 mile run, and beach.  sunday, 5 mile race followed by bbq and then some fasha's day activities like kayaking and grilling.

is it 4 pm yet??

Re: friday, i welcome you

  • Dying laughing. I also say fajahhhh like Goldmember.

    Aloooooo hoi polloi.

I am TIRED. Geege was schizing out from the insane thunderstorms. The barking stopped after MFD put his harness on him at 2:30 a.m. (they say to put dogs who fear lightening/fireworks/etc. in tight t-shirts or to swaddle them to make them feel more secure) but the high pitched keening continued until 4:30. MFD took him into another bedroom but I could still hear it.

I feel like I was merely resting my eyes from 2 a.m. on.

Anyhooooooo. On the way home I stopped at Marshall's to look at planters. No dice.

Then I did some yardwork with MFD. He grilled tuna steaks and potato packets. We ate and did more yardwork, then watched some Parks and Recreation. That show slays me.

I read People  mag and fell out around 11:30.

    TGIF!

Weekend in a shell: drinks and dinner outside at Mom's tonight for her bday and fajah's day. Bringing my dogs. Saturday yard work, minor hausfrauing, making mac salad, and BBQ in the dirty Jerz at night to celebrate an engagement. Breakfast with my dad for fajah's day, crapping around and making baked ziti for dinner.

  • LOL, I say fajaaaahhhh too...

So tired too.  Had weird dreams this morning and got up with the first alarm at 4:42.  Farked around and was actually late to work.  Have to have a sit down meeting w/ my team member who's on the verge of termination.  She better get her shiz together while I'm gone next week.

No big plans for the weekend except mani/pedi, spray tan, shopping for toiletries, updating iPod playlist and packing.  Still irritated w/ my girlies that are going to Vegas with me.  I need to snap out of it, or it will be a crap-asss time...

  • I hate being annoyed with my people.

AND I need to update my iPod. I am adding that to my weekend to do.

  • I feel fantastic this morning.  I went to bed at 8pm last night.  While it was still light outside.  I felt like an old fart last night, but feel like a million bucks this morning! :-)  And my 9:00 training got canceled since the girl I was supposed to train isn't in today.  Super!

We're headed up to PA after work today for niece's ballet recital and to spend father's day with K's family.  Not sure what's on the agenda other than ballet, but probably includes drinking, BBQing and putting some more work into cleaning up the house.

Brew, I'm jealous you're going to Vegas!  I just booked a trip yesterday to Vegas for K's birthday, but it's not til October and I don't want to wait!!  Where you staying?

  • Soooooo jealous of a restful sleep!

I am taking two benadryl tonight and settling down with my sleep mask for a long summer's nap. GOOD DAY!

  • I didn't bother to change out of my flip-flops when I started making dinner.  While trying NOT to spill the boiling pasta water, I proceeded to spill half the pot.  Outside the sink. On one of my bare feet.  Somehow, I ended up fine - my foot was only slightly reddened.  My sisters and mom laughed at me - they're so nice.

Tonight, I'm going to make DH take me out to dinner so I don't have to cook.  And maybe pick up some craft supplies.  Will post pictures If I make anything.

Tomorrow, we're taking FIL to a late lunch because it's both his birthday and Father's day.

Sunday is the 8 hour wedding I don't want to go to.  I really don't like the bride.  At least I'll get to see our friends - they haven't really had time for poker games, so it's been a while.  DH just hinted this morning that we might skip the (2-hour Indian) ceremony - I have to make sure he wasn't teasing!  I will have a full report of this wedding on Monday.

If I knew that going to bed at 8 would make me feel fantastic, I would always do it!  Perhaps I will try soon, old fart be daamned! :)

And we're staying at the towers at MGM.  Hello ginormous suite and the lazy river, I love you...  Where are you guys staying?

  • Aw, man, Emilie, that sounds painful!  Glad you're okay and didn't get hurt worse.

Brew - We're staying at the Venetian.  Travel Zoo had an awesome deal this week for vacation packages through Southwest, so we're paying next to nothing for flights + 3 nights in a suite at the Venetian.  Can't wait!  Though I am a little bummed it'll be too cold for lazy river and drinks by the pool. Trying to decide if/which Cirque show to do...

  • Travel Zoo, must google this.

I also had to find and post the Fajaaaaaaah clip on the facespace. I watched it three times. Hilarious.

  • Steph - it goes like this:

10-12 ceremony (again, Indian, so it's long)

12-2 cocktails (there had better be lots of food and seating - I'm not hopeful though)

    2-6 reception

It's all in one place.  My friends are heavy drinkers so they think 2 hours of cocktails is heaven.  I think it sounds incredibly long and boring. I am glad it will be done early, cause it's Sunday, but 8 hours in one place?

  • Eight hours in one place is very long unless it's in bed or on the beach.

I love the colorful and ceremonial aspects of Indian weddings but the rest of that schedule is tough with no breaks or change of scenery.

  • Hi Friday :-)

Inlaws get into town tonightish. They have no idea and they don't know if they're staying with us or not...I have to deal with bratty SIL tomorrow and I already want to punch her in the face. Not to mention the fact that everytime we see BIL we get the "when are you guys gonna have kids". Drives me nutso!

Had an amazing run last night and Im really fricken excited for tomorrow now!

E and Toby have a breakfast date for daddy's day on Sunday and then she'll head with her father or fajaaaah :-) I have to take my parents and lil bro to the airport so they can run away to PA for a week.

I believe that is all :-)

  • Tonight will be my chill night I need to do some paper organizing. And then tomorrow H is off so we will be running around, and we plan to have dinner at Red Lobster and hopefully see our friends new puppy. I love seeing other peoples puppies because I know I am not getting a dog for years so I have to love on there puppies to get my fix. Then Sunday I have reservations to take my daddy to a late lunch then we will head to in-laws for dinner.

  • Jessie - where are your people going in PA? I hate people that do not have a plan, it is rude to hostesses. I also hate my one SIL so I don't envy you having to see yours tomorrow.

    Fourth Anniversary

Emilee - I may have you beat on the Indian wedding!  We went to one when H and I were in the early dating stage.  Told it started at 8am (which was rough, it was Eastern time, and we were still on Pacific time), and arrived to a closed up banquet hall.  Luckily other friends were there at 8 to keep us company.  Family, etc. eventually arrived around 9, and they did this bartering (fakey) thing to get the bride's family to let the groom in.  It was actually pretty cute.

The ceremony wasn't really until around 10, and did last at least an hour.  Then they served us lunch.

So it was, ceremony+ from 8-12, go back to hotel, reception from like 6-11.

The event required two different dresses, because appropriate at 8am is not the same as appropriate at 6pm.

ETA:  I was actually pretty happy, overall, with the wedding.  The ceremony was beautiful, even though it was long, and the food was all amazing

    Fourth Anniversary

Heeyyyyy ladies.  So glad it's Friday.  This week has felt very long.  Work is super busy and overall I've been productive, but still feel like I'm just treading water, which is depressing.

Flooring comes in today!  Yay!  H is coordinating with the contractor for him to pick it up, as it has to sit in our house for a few days before install (next week).

Tonight is early hockey, so I'll go to the game, and go out afterwards for pizza.  Haven't seen his hockey buddies forever, so most of them don't know I'm KTFU, so I think that will be fun.

Tomorrow is for relaxing, making Sunday's dessert, and cleaning.  Yup, cleaning our floors so that they can be removed.  We are slobs.

Sunday we're going to my parents' house for lunch.  My mom has bought a ton of clothes for the baby, and wants to give them to us then.  Hmmm, all this fuss over H's first Father's Day, but nothing for me for Mother's Day.  And I'm the one doing all the work!

I honestly have no idea it's for a Teen Leaders exchange trip. Bad daughter award. SIL bash session?

  • I am always ready to bash my SIL. She is a disgusting human being, a lazy aimless piece of crap who ruins everything she looks at.

She hasn't had a job for more than three weeks at a time in over 10 years. Her and her three children who all have some degree of fetal alcohol syndrome and her dirtbag druggie husband live off the government and any settlements she gets from suing people in accidents, yet they smoke and drink and do drugs. She believes everyone on earth owes her a handout and often sits in judgement of other peoples' parenting when she could not even care for her children by not indulging while they were in the WOMB.

And of course, her mother protects and defends her because everyone else hates her.

Sorry, mush, but get used to it.  Still not quite sure how DH's first father day is 'his day' (his words) but for Mother's day i had to spend it with his mom in order to spend time with him.  Does. Not. Compute.

Happy weekend to all...that's all I've got.

  • Thank you jesus that it's friday!!!!

I'm going to post and then go back and play catch up and read.

I've been dealing with idiot men at work today.  They have no commone sense.  Thankfully they aren't my boss, so I don't have to worry about NOT telling him what I think.  I just to do it.  ( In a non-psycho non-crazy type of way.  Professional of course, but stern).

I was also told today by a co-worker (who is kinda like a mom) that I don't look pregnant in my stomach but I do in my face and ankles.  hmmmmmmmmmmm    didn't know how to take that.  She redemed herself by asking if i wanted any ice cream when she went to go get some.

Minus the drugs I think we have the same SIL! She gets mad when they keep asking us why we aren't having any kids yet and I tell her because my paychecks are too busy supporting her for me to build my family ;-) Im eeevvvvillll

    Moleson, you're a raspberry, yay!

And co-workers need to STFU, really.  My same co-worker AGAIN told me today that my stomach is bigger.  She was like, you're going to be 5' x 5' when you're done!  Um, not cool.  Again, only my belly is getting bigger.

  • Jessie, they should go live on an island together. Survival of the fittest aholes! Have at it. I'm going to use your paycheck line because we get a lot of pressure.

MushE, no commentary from coworkers on size. Ever. Pregnant or not. What is wrong with people?

  • While I'm sad other people have useless vile dungholes for SILs, I am also happy that I'm not alone.

She fills me with such rage it's hard to deal with. I only see her 1-3 times a year, and then even then usually 1 or 2 of those times is an accident.

I saw her at my wedding on 9/25, on Christmas Eve for literally three minutes, the week of May 20, and I won't see her again until who knows when. I actively avoid anywhere she might be.

    image
  • Steph you just pray to sweet baby Jesus that you don't like 25 fricken minutes from yours! Yep see her at least twice a month and I am not happy about it!
  • I live five minutes from her. I just don't see her. Some large effed up events have gone down over the years, and I just say no. She sucks.
    image
  • You totally win then! I bow down to you. If H didn't feel the need to for some reason be nice to her I would never see her.
  • wow..I missed a lot of good stuff today.  I was busy spending hours at the specialist only to find out that my primary care doctor sent me to the wrong guy.  Have to go see a dermatologist now.  Nice...

Steph and Jessie...holy crap on the crappy SILs.  More power to you two for dealing with them.  I don't know how I would be able to stand being in a room with someone like that regularly without making really snarky comments and jokes to my hubby.

Brew..hopefully once to get to Vegas you'll all be in PARTAY mode and you'll feel better.

Moleson...I swear it's in my head, but I'm convince my face is puffy  :(
I also think my tummy has bloat.  I never get bloat.   I didn't think I'd notice anything this early on.
