Hannah is available Saturday.... Where could we meet? I was thinking East Bay-ish. Any ideas?

I'm bummed that's the same day as J2's birthday. I remember when he was at my 30th! I hope we can get together sometime before I leave. Message me about when you're free this week.

Not yet. Sorta wanted to lock down a time/place then I'll go w/ the deets over there.

If you want to do Fenton's that's fine by me. Would me bringing cupcakes there be appropriate? And can we get a reservation?

Oh yeah, don't know about the bringing of outside food. It's also often hard to park there esp on the wknd in the summer. I didn't think of that. Most places probably wouldn't allow you to bring in outside food. We could maybe go to a park?

I've had my own bday cakes at many restaurants, and just last week we brought our own brownies for my boss' retirement dinner. It's not that uncommon for a place to actually offer to hold onto/refrigerate dessert for a group brought in from the outside. I would just call first and ask but I think you'll find it's not that hard. Off the top of my head, I've been to or personally done it for Red Lobster, Roxy's (local somewhat-upscale restaurant), Bucca di Beppo, Susumu (local hibatchi type restaurant)...

Just a thought, if the weather stays like this, Fenton's is likely to be super-crowded on a Saturday and I don't think they take reservations.

They do take reservations for 12 or more people but I agree that it will be super crowded and very hard to find parking. There's Merritt Bakery on Lake Merritt. They have their own good sized parking lot. http://www.merrittbakeryoakland.com

Probably June 29 but of course those last few days will be crazy! Any day this week that you want to drop by is fine though.
