OL Tuesday

Dear job interview,

Please go well today!  You seem like you would be a really great job!

Dear weather,

I didn't like being woken up by the rain, but I certainly love the cooler temp this morning!  I'd be okay if you stayed like this for a little while!

  • Dear Sarah-

Good luck today!  I agree about the storms; I hated waking up at 2:30 but I'll take the cooler weather.

    Dear OMH's-

I just made an impulse buy and bought this.  One click shopping is a tad dangerous for me.

    Dear gma-

If the '0' button on your phone is not between the * and #, I don't know where it's at.  You are also 150 miles away and I haven't seen your new phone :)

    Dear DH-

While I did not take you up on your offer, thanks for asking if you needed to pick me up for lunch yesterday because you didn't see me carrying my lunch bag.

Dear Rain-  So glad you stopped by.  I don't mind that you woke me up at 3 am, don't mind you made the dog scared and he had to come to our room, but do mind the traffic you created this morning.

  • Dear Lacey - Good Luck!

Dear Chelsea - You might want to water your lawn at least once a week...and at least along the perimeter of your house.  Super dry ground can cause the foundation of your house to crack.

  • Dear Lacey, I am keeping my fingers crossed it goes wonderfully.
  • Dear Lacey,

Good luck! I'm sure you'll do great!

  • Dear Lacey -

I always get nervous with those.  I'm sure yours will be great!

Dear Dinner with in laws -

I am not looking forward to you at all.  Please go by quickly.

    Dear friend -

I'm so excited about your bach party at the Jersey shore this weekend!  Now I just need to figure out what to pack, and get DH up early to drive me to the airport on Friday.

  • Dear Jaymi - That looks awesome!

Dear Lacey - Good luck, let us know how it went!

Dear Coffee - I LOVE YOU!

  • Dear Rain

Glad to have you as it was much needed

     Dear Thunder

I could have done without you as you got my dog barking at 3am so I got no sleep.

    Dear Lacey,

     Good Luck, you'll do great

    I know Embarrassed

I really need to get better about watering...I know it's just because I'm lazy, which is NOT a good enough excuse

I need to have weekly check in's on TN...Sunday, June 26, 2011 approx. 9:45 am watered lawn

    HAHAHA j/k Stick out tongue

  • Nesties,

Even though it isn't confession day, I am going to let something out. I am bummed about the idea of having to put this awesome fitness momentum I have going on hold for 9+ months. I really want to start cycling, but convincing DH to let me buy a $300+ set up is nearly impossible with the chance that I could get pregnant in the next couple of months and have to put the bike on a shelf.

My want to have a baby outweighs my fitness bug, but I am still going to mourn the loss a little, you know?

    - Leslie

P.S. Yes I know I can start cycling post-baby, I'll be a parent, not dead. I just hate the feeling of not being able to do something because I *might* get pregnant soon. I also *might* not for years...I just wish DH would understand that.

Why would you not be able to continue your fitness goals when you are pregnant?   I know they will have to be modified to some degree but there are quite a few women at my gym who are pregnant and still doing body pump as well as cardio.  One woman was even doing Body Pump (with very little weight, of course)  up to 2 weeks before her due date.

Have you looked into a used bike store?

Men are unrealistic when it comes to everything pregnancy related and having a baby related until the kid is born, IMHO. They don't get it, and they never will.

I totally think you could cycle while pregnant. Go for it.

ETA: Are you looking to buy a stationary bike? Or a road bike and a trainer so you can ride it on the road and make it stationary for in the house? I have a bike that would fit you, and you would only need to buy the trainer part. About $150.

I plan to continue to some degree but you are not supposed to increase distance or duration during pregnancy. I have an appointment with my gyn next week for something else, but I am going to ask her about this.

My worries are that I get REALLY hot when I work out and I need to know how bad that really is. My heart rate gets high when I run (170-185 range) and supposedly that is also not allowed. You are also not supposed to bike as the danger of being clipped in and falling is high and can cause a miscarriage by trama to the stomach/uterus. Nothing I am doing right now is allowed following all of the guidelines I've seen online, which I don't really know how much stock to take into them.

Definitely wouldn't ride outside while pregnant. But you could ride stationary, slow and easy while pregnant and then pick it up after. And you could start by working out hard on the bike before you get pregnant, tone it down for 9 months, then pick it back up. A slow and easy work out on the bike is still a good workout.
