Re: AW/Chit Chat Thursday

  • Brad and I are going to his grandparents this weekend where Brad's estranged father and his step-daughters who hate us will be. These girls have called me every vulgar name in the book and have been nothing but hateful to Brad. I'm not sure I can be the lady I was raised to be around them. Not a fan.
  • Renee, they sound horrible!  I hope you're able to make it through the weekend.
  • That sounds AWFUL.  I am sorry you have to deal with that.  Do you have to stay the whole weekend?

  • Yikes. Good luck Renee.

My AW is that after my test at 10:30 this morning, my weekend officially starts! I'm going to get my hair cut, and then H comes home this evening! Yay!

  • I should have been more clear.

Brad's father loves us, it's his step-daughters who hate us. They have heard that we'll be there (we don't usually go because of these girls) and word on the street is that they aren't going. So, let's keep our fingers crossed!

Not much of an AW; more of a chit chat.

An enjoyable weekend without being called names would be an AW in my book.  I hope they stick to their words and don't come.

Well I hope the word on the street is correct!

I drank and danced and sweated on Boomerjack's patio with a group of girls last night. It was an excellent Wednesday. I also realized that four Midori Sours and a Red Headed S*lut make me feel exactly like I do after a really good run. Kind of neat.

I am in a pretty good mood today - so not a lot to complain about nor really anything to AW about.

  • GL Renee, I hope it goes ok.

DH took me out to eat last night, very impromtu and sweet.

  • Renee, I hope they dont come so you can have an enjoyable time.

My abs I had forgotten I had are screaming at me today and even though I am sore I am committed to going back to another yoga session tonight.

  • Depending on how you look at it, we've been married exactly a year and a half today or tomorrow.

Have you ever tried to get your husband to understand something but he just doesn't get it?  After 2-3 years of trying to get DH to understand something, he had a light bulb moment last weekend and now understands how and why a low carb-high protein diet is best for me.  And he has taken it upon himself to be on carb control and trying to be a better influence.

Today is my last day here until next Wednesday.

Oh, I almost forgot.  Monday I saw this stuff in the entrance of our house and it looked like we had a mouse or some animal so we set up traps.  DH was cleaning the traps up last night and said that we would never catch anything.  Why?  They were rolly pollies.

Yes, I know what you mean on the DH front.  It's nice when the Idea moment comes! Very cool that he is trying to be a better influence!

Gotta love those rolly pollies! LOL

What are you doing until Wednesday?

  • I don't have much going on today to chit chat about, but I am working from home today!  Our department has a pilot program going where the non-hourly people get to work from home one day a week.  This is week 2.  Normally I'm easily distracted, so I have to set goals for myself in order to "let" myself work at home the following week... well, I did good last week so I can do it again today.  I'm kind of dragging this morning though.
  • Amanda that's awesome!!
  • I don't really have anything to AW today.  I've been a lot better about eating healthier and exercising though! :-)

I feel pretty dumb about the rolly pollies but it made for a good laugh!

We are visiting my dad and that side of the family.  We haven't seen them since Thanksgiving.

    Amanda that's awesome!!

Thanks Lauren and Leslie.  I love date nights too! :)

~Oh ya I didn't watch who won The Voice last night, but heard Dia didn't win this morning.  I'm very surprised.  When we were watching it Tuesday night and Javier sang MJ, I told DH that he would probably win bc he sang that song.  :)

  • Amanda, yay for impromptu date nights! Big Smile

    Jaymi,

I wish H had more of those light-bulb moments. haha. Glad yours finally had one about something important to you!

  • I ran 2 miles in 29 minutes yesterday morning.  I realize that's pretty slow, but since I could barely walk a 5k a couple of months ago, I really feel happy about it.  That's my AW.  :)

My CC is that today is my last day with my friend from college.  :(

(I'm only posting because she's still asleep and my internal alarm clock is apparently set to 8 AM.)

Do you want to know who won?

Renee, I hope they don't show up so that you can enjoy your weekend.

Lacey, great job on the 2 miles! If you don't already have a race in mind, the Dallas Race for the Cure is in October ( 5K) and would be a great race to participate if you want something to build up to. I support the Race for the Cure every year and it's a great cause.

    Amanda, yay for date night.

Jaymi, yay for light bulbs going off. :)

  • Ok so I'm a little ticked right now.

My BIL and SIL were going to come in town with our nephew tomorrow and a few days ago he got a stomach bug. Well he's better but BIL started getting symptoms yesterday and now SIL says she's starting to feel bad but they're still coming. WTF? That's a little inconsiderate IMO. Leave your sickness at home.

That shiit spreads like wildfire. I don't have time to get sick. I can't just "call in" sick to school. I have to be there if I want to do well. And that won't work well if I'm puking.

People, including myself, are pretty sentimental when it comes to MJ.

  • When are they supposed to be coming in? If it's not until tomorrow maybe they'll feel better by then?

I can see how you'd be upset about this. It frustrates me when people go to work (or travel) while sick. It's inconsiderate.

Tell them not to come!  I agree, it is very inconsiderate.  Tell them you're very sorry, but you cannot afford to catch their bug that is so obviously contagious.

  • Ya I thought Javier did a great job!  Renee, I absolutely LOVE MJ!!  Big Smile

Lacey, YAY for running...hopefully I'll be saying the same thing in a couple months!

They come tomorrow. And SIL just started feeling like she's getting sick today. Doubt it'll be completely onset and gone by tomorrow.

  • Lacey - Yay for running! It's awesome. Don't worry about pace so much right now, just work on getting your lungs in shape and your body used to running. Pace will come later.

Summer - That is lame. Tell them you are sick now, with the flu, and it's catching.

Someone else wrote something I was going to respond on but now I can't remember...

Haha.  I don't know how far they will be traveling but who would want to leave their house with that mess?

  • That is very impressive Lacey  Yes  No way could I do that!
