What do your parents/ IL's go by?
My parents can't decide what they want to be called. I'm not too concerned about it. But My mom keeps bringing it up... so I told her I would ask around
My mom just isn't sure about "grandma" - she and my dad are in their late 40's.
Re: Grandparent Names
My parents are the same way and my mother didn't want anything that sounded "too old" so she is Nana and dad is Papa - she picked them and none of us were too concerned so we just said, "Alright sounds great."
I've also heard, Honey and Meme.
My parents are Nana and Papa
My ils are Mimi and Granddaddy
My mom didn't want to be called Grandma either so she's Nana. My dad really wanted to be Grandpa but my nephew couldn't pronounce it when he was little, so he became Papa.
FIL is Popo, I have no idea why. MIL was Grandma when I met her. Then all of a sudden she started calling herself Nana. That irritated me a little because our kids (future kids at the time, this happened right around the time we got married) were already going to have a Nana. So my parents are "Nana and Papa" and ILs are "Nana and Popo." We refer to my mom as Nana and MIL as "Nana G." I sometimes use "Crazy Nana" for MIL but I'm really trying to stop that
My parents are Momo and Popo, that is the names I used for my grandparents growing up, so I guess it was just a natural progression.
ILs are Tita and Tito... basically short for abuelita and abuelito.
The names are already in use so we didn't have a chance to name them.
My parents are Nana and Papa and his dad is Poppy.
This made me laugh!
We have lots of parents.
My dad and stepmom and Grandad and Nona. My mom and stepdad are , Grandma <first name> and Grandpa <first name>.
My MIL is Grandma <first name>. My FIL is Grandpa <firstname>.
I wanted either my MIL or my mom to be something besides Grandma just to make it easier to distinguish but neither of them were willing to give it up.
My Parents
Nani & Pop
DH's Parents
Mimi and Big Mel (his stepfather)
Nana (his stepmother) and another Pop but we call him Pop L
My mom - Granny
Dad - Papaw
Step-mom - Grandma
X-h mom - Mamasita
X-h dad - Peepaw
MIL - Mimi
Step-fil - Grumps (so fitting)
FIL - Pawpaw
Step-mil - Granna
Lots of grandparents in my family. lol.
my parents - Grandma and Poppy
my grandmother - Granny
ILs - Grams (turning into Grammy lately) and Paw Paw
DH's grandmother - Memaw
IL's are- Babcia and Dziadzia (Polish forms of grandmother and grandfather)
My parents are- Granny & Popo picked by the oldest grandchild; my niece.
My parents are Cappy & Mia.
My ILs are Gigi & Paw-paw.
My Mom = Grammie (with an -ie because that's how we spell Abbie. Silly Mom).
Step-Dad = Poppy. Was going to be Grampy, but Abbie changed it to Poppy.
Step Mom = Grandma Jenn (said like GrammaJenn)
My Dad = Papa. Was just going to be Grandpa, but Abbie said Papa instead.
DH Dad = Pops
DH Mom = Mrs. Sandra. Looooots of history behind that. Basically, it's what Abbie called her before we were engaged and after she refused to be called anything but Grammy b/c that's what my SIL kids (who were too young to talk) "called" her. SO long story short, she's still Mrs. Sandra to my kids.

No kids--but I just had this discussion with a friend who just had a baby.
They ended up going with Gigi and Grandpa. We discussed Mah-maw, Nona, Noni, Grandma, Granny, Ginny, Memaw...
my mom was mamaw but Joe changed it to Grandma
my dad: papaw or grandpa
MIL: Bebe
FIL: Big Daddy
Both of them picked them:
My parents: Nana / Papa
My grandmas: Grannie and Grandma <first name> (same as what we call them)
ILs : Gram / Grandpa
DH's grandma: Mamaw (same as what we call her)
My parents: MeMoo and PaPaw
MIL: MawMaw Francie
We called my mom's parents grandma and grandpa and my dad's parents nanny and papaw.
Tyler has 7 grandparents!! He has started calling my FIL papa and my dad pops. My step-mom wants to be called ya-ya.
I am happy with whatever he names them as he has 7 of them!
my parents are momo and popo.
ils are grandma and pop pop.
My parents: Yaya and Papa Pete
ILs: Grandmother Carol (that's what she wants to be called, my kids say Grandma Carol and she corrects them) and Grandpa Don
The ILs are Mimi and Pepaw, which has now been shortened to Peeps. They were previously named by my two nephews.
My parents are Mags (her name is Maggie and this was a nickname given by my college roommate) and Pops. Georgia loves walking around saying Pops.
Mousie and Pop (my mom's nickname has always been "Mouse," so it just had to be her grandmother name)
Mamaw and Papa
My parents are Grammy and Grandaddy or Grandad
My ILs are Nana and Papa.
There were grandkids on both sides before my kiddo though so they were already chosen.
My mom was in her late 40s when she became a grandpa and she and her ex also did the Nana and Papa names. Papa is out of the picture now but she is still Nana.
My dad and step-mom are grandma and grandpa [last name] to Maddie.
My FIL is Papa [first name] and my MIL is Mia. In her family it was tradition to go by Mama [first name] and I am NOT comfortable with that (i'm the only Mama!!). So she graciously came up with another nickname. She found on the internet somewhere that Cara mia is a nickname for grandmothers in Italy and while she is not Italian by any stretch she liked it. (I haven't validated it - this is what she told me). I think it sort of sounds like Carol Mia (her first name is Carol) but it means "my dear."
