Agreed. My gut tells me she's guilty, but if I were a juror, I don't know that I could sign my name to a guilty (1st degree murder) verdict based solely on the evidence presented.
I don't know that I can handle watching a penalty phase, too. Oy.

i just saw Baez enter the courtroom.
I can't even imagine how her parents must feel.. or her for that matter. She must feel something, even if it's not what a normal person would be feeling.

I heard if it is a 1st degree conviction, the penalty phase will begin in 48 hours - both sides will present mitigating/aggravating evidence and the jury will deliberate again.
Lesser conviction, sentencing later this week.

I'm not really surprised. Like you mentioned I don't think I could have convicted based on the evidence the state provided - even though I believe without a doubt she did it.

I'm speechless. I absolutely can not believe she didn't get charged w/ anything but lying to the LEOs.
Jeff Ashton & LBD are having a SUPER bad day.
I'm shocked, too. I can't say I disagree with the jury's decision - IMO, the only thing there was solid, concrete proof of was providing false info to LE, regardless of what my gut tells me. But I honestly did not see this coming. I thought it would be a murder 1 conviction for sure.

So, say Caylee drown, and then she didn't report it to the police. Shouldn't she get charged for that?
I bet Jose Baez can't even believe he won.
It is really sad.
It sucks that at the end of this whole thing Caylee is still gone and nothing can change that.

I thought the jury was anonymous- but now they are about to do a press conference.
They can choose to stay anonymous if they want to. It's up to each juror whether or not they want to participate in the press conference.
