Re: Casey Anthony Verdict
The Dogs and Us
I am just sick! I cannot believe that she got away with it. I mean she lied to how many people...I mean really jurors should really have their heads looked at.
That poor sweet little girl.
Absolutely ridiculous. That's all I can really say other than it reminds me of the musical Chicago. Which made me angry the first time I watched it as well.
i didn't expect murder but maybe mansluaghter and definitly neglect.
The Dogs and Us
I kind of think that this makes it worse.
Agreed! I mean at the very least neglect. I mean hello you are parting while your baby is missing!!!! EPIC Fail for the justice system today!
Not pleased at all
Everyone I know is furious right now
This is why I could never sit on a jury...I think at the end of the day I'd go with my gut instinct.
I don't usually like Nancy Grace but I like the fact that she just brought up that the lawyers went on about winning a case and slapping the media in the face before even mentioning Caylee.
Disgusting.
Exactly. I already said it on another board, but I'm not at all surprised she was found not guilty. The prosecution didn't provide enough evidence to prove without a shadow of doubt that she did it. Do I think she killed her? Do I think she did horribly shady things and should be in jail? Absolutely. But I don't think it was proven enough.
The jurors did the right thing, and I guarantee if you ask any of them they would say that they think she did it, but that the prosecution didn't prove it. Also, I think if she was found guilty it would have been overturned in an appeal.
However, Casey's life is over anyways. The whole world knows who she is and thinks she is guilty, and she will never get a good job. And that's if no outraged citizen kills her.
You're absolutely right on this point. The court of public opinion has already tried her and found her guilty.
It wasn't the partying fact for me because I know lots of people that party and have kids (they are responsible and make sure their kid is cared for). And people deal with that situation differently. But it was the fact she didn't report her missing for a month.
The Dogs and Us
I'm actually excited by this. It's a total OJ repeat. We know she did it, but the stinkin' prosecutors could have done a heck of a lot better.
Her lawyers had a job to do? How do you suggest the justice system operate without a defense? I've been to a country that operated like that and it wasn't pretty.
Agreed. This was one of my first thoughts once I got over the shock.
Ditto. I could never be a defense attorney, or probably any attorney, but someone has to do it. Baez doesn't necessarily think she is innocent, but it is his job to prove that she is. And honestly, no matter what he says to the media, he cares much more about the fact that he just made his career off of this case than he does about Caylee's death.
It's irrelevant. If a rape victim goes on a date with her assailant or continues to party after the assault, is she not a rape victim?
People do weird things when they're grieving, especially when they're from a family as jacked up as the Anthonys.
Not guilty =/= innocent.
Sorry...I didn't mean that partying was the issue...I mean that her baby was missing for a month and no word to the police.
