My mom revealed to me this weekend that I had platinum blond curly hair as a baby.  I knew the blond part, but the curly part was a surprise.  My sister & I tried to argue with her that my hair has always been straight & she had her daughters confused again & she should probably lay off the booze.  She pulled out pictures & proved that indeed my hair was curly.  And my sister had straight hair.  Which is really odd because now my sister's hair is curly & mine is straight.

We had a long conversation trying to figure out the root of the hair switcherroo.  We eliminated any kind of smoked substance (as neither of us have ever smoked anything).  We temporarily leaned toward chocolate as she's allergic to it & it's my mission to consum my body-weight in chocolate annually, but that didn't make any sense because we never had chocolate as kids b/c mom was afraid it would kill my sister (would have totally been worth it).  We discussed shampoo differences, but we used the same shampoo up until a few years ago & the transformation precedes that.  Drinking different forms of alcohol was temporarily discussed as during college I was a beer girl & she was a Boone's girl, but my brother pointed out that our hair had already changed by then (that was a tricky concept for us).

The conversation then morphed into a discussion of how in college I was a beer & hard liquor girl, while she drank "girly drinks".  And now I have a gluten aversion & mostly drink girly drinks, and she now drinks beer.  Which then turned into a discussion of how my nickname in college was "The Tank" because I could drink amazing amounts of beer.

It was around this point in the conversation that we realized my mom had left.  And she not only left the room, she left the whole house.  After some discussion we assumed she went to get chocolate to slip in my sister's food & wheat to slip in mine.  My brother talked a lot of *** about how he's the prince so she'd never try to poison him like she would us.  Which we agreed was true, she did get up & cook him breakfast that morning while the rest of us were left to fend for ourselves.  (He still has her conned into believing that he can't scramble a danm egg.  Seriously Mom?  He's a 26 year old marine pilot.  If he can fly a helicopter her can scramble his own egg.)

Mom got back home over an hour later, at which point we were designing t-shirts with a "Marines can't scramble eggs" logo.  She did not pick up any chocolate or wheat products.  But she did get a bunch of kiwi's & some pecans.  My brother's two deathly allergens of choice.

He went out to eat for breakfast the next morning.

This made me laugh really hard!!!  I see why miss your sister :(

  • Why the heck is Greek yogurt so flipping expensive?  I mean, the least expensive container I saw yesterday was $.88.  Anyone know the reason?

I may start buying the tub, but I only like it with fruit mixed in and DH won't eat it at all.  I'm not sure DS will either...how long does the large container last once opened?

You can make your own on the cheap.  Take low fat or fat free plain yogurt and strain it overnight with a mesh strainer and coffee filter. Viola.  So cheap and you don't end up with an entire tub.

One tub lasts me a week.  I eat it daily as a snack with cereal mixed in.

  • the greek yogurt has more milk-per-cubic-whatever.  it takes more milk to make th greek yogurt than the regular, i think.  or i'm wrong, but i think that's why.

or maybe because it's so much better than regular...lol.

If I get one more picture texted to me, one more drunk dial at 3 am, or see one more of my friends become friends with my BIL on FB I'm going to snap.

That makes it the right consistency and flavor, but I eat greek for the wicked high protein content that regular yogurt doesn't have.  Draining the regular yogurt won't change the nutrition. so it depends on why you're eating it. I did not like the flavor and had to make myself eat it in the begining. Now I love it!

I don't know. And that is Kristen's cousin. I just got a text from him and my brother of Justin in the back of a cop car. I am overwhelmed with irritation. The only part of vacation I'm looking forward to is the party with my cousins at my aunts house next Friday, which Justin has asked me 4 times if he can come to. I really just want to stay home at this point.

for me I stop crying a week after the meds but it comes back worse the week before my period. So the week of ovulation is good and I'm happy. that's the only one.

For me the cycles were really hard to get used to the migraine cycles.  I was a roller coaster of emotions and migraines on clomid.  Good luck!  I hope it works fast!!!  I hope you don't have to figure out the cycle of migraines!!!!!

  • I called the dr's office yesterday to talk to a nurse. I said I was sure I had hand-foot-mouth and was there any advice or tricks to get rid of it (there's no medicine to fix it). They said my dr was oot but I had to come in to be diagnosed. So today I went in for an appt and the dr said, "yeah, you def have HFMD. nothing I can do for you." When I asked him how long it was contagious he went over to the computer and looked on the internet to find out!!!

It was such a well spent $30 co pay.

Check your insurance policy to see if eVisits are covered?  The copay is usually much cheaper and you don't have to waste time when you know what it is.  Some will even write scripts via your eVisit chat or email.

This is becoming much more popular and more docs are signing up.

This story seriously made me LOL for some reason.  I think the metamorphosis of your conversation is hysterical.  The t-shirt logo thing is awesome, and then the fact that y'all didn't notice your mom was gone until later and she came back with not one, but TWO unrelated things that your brother is allergic to?  Dying.
