Stupid Question- Another CA topic
Ashlee mentioned the civil suit, but is there anything else they can try her for? She confessed to an accidental drowning and cover up. Even though I think this case has left us all a bit sick and we probably agree this story is ***, can they bring any charges for this? We need a lawyer on this board.
ETA: My friend who's a cop says no, they cannot get her for anything else surrounding this death. Fabulous. I figured this was the case, but what another lovely flaw in our system.

Re: Stupid Question- Another CA topic
Yeah, I thought of the whole double jeopardy thing, but was thinking that it was that you can't be tried for the same crime twice...and I was thinking that murder -vs- neglect/accidental drowning would be different. I guess it will still be the death of Caylee though, making it the same thing. I don't know, it's just so sad and sickening.
LB, I agree. I'm hoping the judge will at least order some intense therapy, but she won't ever be a positive addition to society.
It's the double jeopardy principle - can't be tried twice for the same crime. The crime was the death of Caylee Anthony & she's been proved innocent despite the cover-up.
ITA with LB about Casey getting in trouble again.
