Casey Anthony Verdict due at 2:15

Re: Casey Anthony Verdict due at 2:15

  • Here's what I predict for the Anthony family next steps...

    1. Casey will get released sometime by the end of the week.

    2. She will get some sort of book deal.

    3. George and Cindy will go through a divorce.

*She is seriously safer in jail. There are some crazy people out there who thinks Casey should be dead. I fear for her safety.

The Orange County Sheriff and Orlando PD have placed 150 officers on stand by because they're not sure what's going to happen between the courthouse and Anthony home.

I agree with you, but I won't feel sorry for her if something happens to her.

I am in disbelief at the verdict.

I really just can't wrap my head around this.

There is no way that's she not guilty of something other than lying. Her kid was dead and she didn't report it for how long? Even if she didn't do it herself there's got to be more they could have charged her with - neglect? covering things up?

She does not deserve a slap on the wrist for this. She deserves time.

I wonder if they can pursue other charges at this point if they were to get more evidence. Maybe an accomplice to something? They'd need to have proof of the crime and someone else involved though. It baffles me that she can not report her child missing for a month yet not be guilty of something.

Usually they can't do that with the same victim.  Double Jeopardy prevents them from going back and charging similar things and "trying again" a second time.  It feels pretty outrageous, but I guess the evidence just wasn't there for the charges the prosecutors decided to go with.  I had a professor in law school who had a favorite saying:  "Not guilty does not mean innocent.  You might be going to hell, but you're not going to Huntsville (which is a big Texas prison)"

Ugh..I want to smack this defense team

You should really want to smack the prosecution team.  They shot for the moon when going for 1st degree murder/death penalty, and basically screwed themselves out of a conviction.  When you're asking people to decide on whether or not to end someone's life, you can bet the jury will most always err on the side of caution when there's such a lack of evidence and motive.

Do I believe she killed her?  I don't know.  Do I think she knows SOMETHING about what happened to her?  Abso-fuucking-lutely.  And hell yes to the book/movie deal, and her parents getting a divorce.

And we all see where OJ is now, so karma will take care of her.

I was saying that in response to them being on tv...they were annoying during their press conference.

But yes, they just didn't have the physical evidence unfortunately.  I wish they could have convicted her on child neglect at least.  Something..anything..more than lying.

This. It's so unbelievable that she'll probably get out without serving anymore time.
