It's so slow here again today!

Well I had to get caught up since I've been gone a few days, you know, reading the recap of Teen Mom and all.  Important stuff.  Usually when I take a day off, I'm met with a rude letter from a coworker about things that I have done wrong in her eyes when she doesn't even know my job.  Thankfully I did not have one in my email but the day is young and there is still time for her to call me back to her office to "reprimand" me Confused  They don't make it very fun to take time off around here.  It's draining.

I had Chicken Curry for the first time ever last Friday.  It's pretty good and from the look of it, pretty easy to make.

I have also been waking up at 6:03 am the last couple of mornings, regardless of what time I go to bed.

Hopefully she will leave you alone today!  Have you been waking up at that time on purpose or no? :-p

Oh gosh no!  I seem to do this a few times a year.  Last time I did this, I believe it was 6:14 am for a few days.  What surprises me most was that it was past midnight when I went to sleep, which usually makes it even harder for me to just get up.

I hate that!  But sometimes when I get less sleep than I usually do, I am actually able to get up easily and have weird amounts of energy.  But if that goes on for more than one day, I am just dead tired!

  • Brad and I got into an argument this morning about the dog. He took her outside, she got scared, and they came right back in. She didn't do her business or anything. I told him that he should have stayed outside until she did something and he snapped back. We haven't texted or anything today. Ehhh.

I have a different opinion than most when it comes to the Casey Anthony case (big shocker there, hu?!). I think my confusion is why people feel so certain that she did it. There was absolutely no evidence that proved she did it - just evidence that she might have been involved. I don't understand the certainty that people feel. I think that parents are more involved than people think and I do believe that Casey was involved somehow - whether covering it up or the actual event.

Also, justice was served here. This is how our justice system works. She got a fair and timely trial. The jury heard all the evidence and followed the instructions/laws they were given. Just because we don't agree with the verdict doesn't mean that justice wasn't served.

    Ok, flame away! Big Smile

Sorry to hear about your fight with Brad.  Maybe everything will be back to normal when he gets off work.

That's how H feels. I don't really have a strong opinion one way or another.

I think that justice wasn't served for Caylee.  That's what I've always said.  And it's still not served.

However, I think that through the negligance on behalf of Casey Anthony, Caylee died.  Whether or not she did it with her own hand or through her lack of attention to her own child, that's what caused it.   And by lying to the police so many times, that does nothing for her case in my mine, IMHO.  Yes, she was given the rights this country affords her, however, I still believe that had the prosection done a better job, the outcome would be different.

    I agree.

I don't know.  I get that the legal system worked properly and what's done is done...but either Casey or her parents (or maybe all 3 of them) did this.  If it was a simple tragic accident then they could have easily reported it and been just fine.

I just don't understand why law enforcement was unable to get enough answers and/or evidence in their investigation to begin with.

I think that justice wasn't served for Caylee.  That's what I've always said.  And it's still not served.

Why do you think this? I'm not trying to be confrontational, I want to understand why so many people think this. I'm curious. What if (I know the "what if" game is dangerous) Casey had be found guilty and justice is served and she gets jail time and then years down the road someone confuses to the murder?  was justice really served in the first place? I wouldn't think so, for either Caylee or Casey. Help me understand your point of view!

However, I think that through the negligance on behalf of Casey Anthony, Caylee died.  Whether or not she did it with her own hand or through her lack of attention to her own child, that's what caused it.

Agreed to a certain degree, See below.

And by lying to the police so many times, that does nothing for her case in my mine, IMHO.

Again, agreed. However, it doesn't prove that she murdered her child. It just proves that she wasn't a great mother. While you (and by "you" I mean the universal "you") would conclude that A would lead to B, again there wasn't any proof.

Yes, she was given the rights this country affords her, however, I still believe that had the prosection done a better job, the outcome would be different.

This I whole hearted agree on! I think the prosecution had a lot of holes and was very overzealous in their wanting the death penalty.

Again, please don't think I'm being confrontational. I'm curious to hear/read other people's points of view.

  • I'm also curious (please pardon my stupidity if this is a dumb question) ... since her killer hasn't "technically" been caught... does this case remain open or is it over?

I mean obviously all of the evidence is on the table already, but it seems like they should keep looking for answers.  Even if its just a cold case.

  • I'm curious as to where everyone's feelings and strong opinions are for the innocent children that die around the country everyday, and justice is never served. Why is Caylee any more special than them? The rest of them never have all of America praying for them. Most go unnoticed.

I have prayers, feelings, and strong opinions for them too...and not just for children but for any crime that goes unpunished (or wrongly punished).   It makes me sad.

However, I can't pray for someone I don't know about... and unless the media brings them to my attention or I just make a hobby of sifting through court records then there is no way for me to do so.

I get that. I do. I just feel people are acting like this is the most tragic thing to ever happen. And it happens every day. Maybe I'm desensatisized to it.

    Yes

This is exactly my point as well in the previous page.

Summer, you're right and I typically take your point of view on this. I'm not really sure why Caylee is anymore "special" than any other child out there. I guess because it has been so highly publicized.  Doesn't make it right, it just is.

Believe me when I say that these strong feelings and emotions are not reserved for just one child.  I obviously feel heart broken about any child/person that is murdered and justice is never served.  It is something that I am very passionate about and it upsets me greatly when I hear about them.  As Tiffany said, I don't always hear about them though.

For example, there was a little boy in Cedar Springs that died in a hot car yesterday.  That outrages me.  He went for 2 hours unattended and managed to lock himself in a diabled vehicle and died.

I think that it would be heartless to say that people don't care/don't notice at all about other murders and wrong-doings of children, because they are.  I do care.  I care a lot.  As I said previously, this case just caught a lot more media attention than others.  It doesn't make it any more/less important than others, it just makes it more public.

I'm not saying people don't care. I think a lot of you are missing my point.

My point is, I just don't understand why everyone reacted the way they did I suppose. And like I said previously, maybe it's because I'm desensitized to it and my automatic first thought is, "Okay, this happens every day, it's sad, and?"

If every case like this was publicized, I guarantee you there wouldn't be blogs about it, 3500 posts on facebook, and people outraged about them all. You wouldn't have the energy because that's all you'd ever be doing. It's not realistic to expect that. That's not what I was trying to say.

We can agree to disagree on this one.

I think I just fell in love. I cannot agree more. I kept telling H this yesterday. I don't get why people are so shocked. Yes it's sad. But people act like they don't realize this happens EVERY day but it's just not televised to death.

Or maybe I'm a cold hearted biitch for not being sick to death over it or leavin my porch light on. Sorry. My Dexter pic is all I got. And I just find it funny.

When you first changed your siggy pic, I thought it was because you were upset that she was found not guilty.  I even skimmed over this so fast I thought you said that you left your porch light on.  But, you put up the Dexter pic, because you thought it was funny?  I think no matter what side of the 'debate' you are on, I don't think there's anything about the situation that's funny.  IMHO.

Well agree to disagree. But I'm not the only one who found it funny, and I don't think there's anything wrong with that.

  • I think what makes the Anthony case "special" is like I said before--it was highly publicized so people, like me for example, actually watched alot of the trial and got caught up in it.  I for one watched the verdict with my hands over my face in disbelief.  There is no reason for a child to have duct tape over its face.  She was found in a laundry bag from the parents' home and found around the corner from their house.  Casey's car smelled like human decomposition.  And she was photographed and videotaped partying and getting a tattoo while Caylee was missing.  Not to mention she lied and didn't even report her missing for a month.  Is this hard proof?  Maybe not but it certainly doesn't add up and it's enough for me at least to think she did it.
