I can't believe we can start this already. Katie's pedi said that beginning now, we can try her with rice cereal and see how she likes it.
Just wondering if your LO's liked the rice cereal, and if so, what kind did you get?
(Ohhh and we can also try mushed bananas and applesauce too)

Re: Moms..Rice Cereal??
I think what we have is Beech Nut...she doesn't seem to care one way or the other for it, but does clench her lips after about 4 or 5 bites. We've given it to her really thinned with breastmilk and by spoon. My doctor says to only introduce with a spoon and the child sitting up to teach good habits. We haven't been giving it to her a lot since she's not that into it and the dr said at this age food is for fun, not nutrition...
We did do green beans last night I put in the grinder and she LOVED them! Complete with "yummm" sounds and grunts.

What are you looking at?
Anders was okay with rice cereal, he was far more a fan of apple sauce, bananas, and other mushed up veggies and fruit. For rice cereal we used Earth's Best Organics, and I did like using it when we had runnier baby food (I made all of ours and sometimes a batch would be a bit thin) to thicken it up.
I'm not a huge rice cereal fan, but it is a good starter idea to get texture and the "thought" of sitting in a chair eating from a spoon down.
Maria, my doctor told us the same thing!!! I'm glad she liked the green beans
