Termite Bond

Who is yours with? Ours expires this month and I am going to price out some competitors. Ours is currently through Brandon.

Re: Termite Bond

  • I'm no help... ours is with Brandon...

  • Ours is with Terminex. When we bought our house, that was who the previous owners had so we got to keep the remainder of their year, then just continued to renew. I honestly have no idea how much we pay, maybe when it's time to renew I'll keep it in mind though if you share prices you're quoted!

  • Brandon quoted 1880 to renew. I am curious to see where the others are on pricing. We have no reason to switch, but figure its worth looking into.
  • 1880.. like $1,880??  That's nuts!  Well, unless I'm missing something..

Ours is with Florida Pest Control, they just came out yesterday and it was $206 to have them do the inspection and renew the bond, then we paid an additional $125 to have them spray for other random stuff and that includes them coming out 2 more times throughout the year to spray if we have any issues.

I was thinking ours was around $250 with Terminex so that price confused me as well.

Does it matter what type of house you have? Ours is hardiboard exterior, which apparently is terminte-proof, don't know if that makes a difference!

  • The last two years we paid $345 for them to come renew it. The original owner bought a 5 year bond and it expires end of this month. Do you know how long your bonds are for?
  • We've been in our house 6 years (it's 11 years old) -- every year we've paid roughly $200 to renew it and it's for a year.

ETA - I don't know that it makes a difference, but our house is just over 3k square feet, 2-story and stucco.

  • Mine is annual. I just looked and we paid $208 for our home, it's 1600 sq. feet, 1 story hardiboard exterior.

  • I had a feeling this seemed over priced.
  • We are with florida pest control and pay $183.00.  I will tell you the guy told us last year if we didn't have this current bond from 2002 we would have to pay much higher.  We are buying a new home and don't even want to see how much it will cost.
  • We just paid $350 to renew our 5 year bond. I think we pay $125 yearly after that. We use Bug Out.

  • We got a Terminix bond with the house too. We have until August covered, then it's around $340 to renew annually. Not sure if that's a bit high though, since there was some work done on the master bath last year from an infestation.

I'm glad you posted though. I wanted to shop for quotes, and this reminded me.

  • Do you know how much coverage you have on your house? The price from Brandon covered up to $250,000.

I have no idea, but I'm going to have to look into this for sure!
