We had dinner at a friend's the other night and after browning the ground beef she rinsed it off in the sink. I haven't seen anyone do that before and I wouldn't think you would want that much grease going down your sink drain. Ricky and I buy the next-to-leanest beef we can and after cooking it I tip the pan to the side and soak the grease up with a paper towel (or 2) before I use it to cook my meal.
My question to all of the cooks out there... do you drain your ground beef? if so, do you do it differently than one of the two ways above?

I do the paper towel thing...
My landlord had problems after the previous tenants left. Evidently they washed a lot of fat down the drain and it solidified and blocked the pipes. He had to dig up the whole driveway to get to the clog and clear it...so yeah, don't want to do that.

What are you looking at?
I feel ashamed, but I don't drain my ground beef... I really don't see that much grease though... And my mom doesn't drain hers... And I suck at draining pasta; about a quarter somehow ends up in the sink because they fall out the holes or something.
I wipe it up with paper towel, but we only eat home grown beef and it is pretty lean so I generally don't have a problem with it.
Maria - that is what I would be worried about.
Lizard - you need a colander with smaller holes :-)
Ricky drains bacon grease into a bowl, but some how I have never though to do the same with the beef.
