I saw that yesteday.  I couldn't read more than the first paragraph because my blood started boiling.  I despise those people.

I fear my only hangout might be the law library.  Wink

Almost across from the TJ & Snug is Motor City Brewing Works - you can also go there for a pint of microbrew. :-)

Also, I have a friend that graduated from Wayne State Law School about 2 or 3 years ago.  Hit me up on the FB if you want her info, I'm sure she'd be happy to help answer any questions you have. :-)

I saw Motor City Brewing Works on the tour (didn't go inside, but saw it from TJ).  I almost got an apartment right near there--next door to Willy's Overland Lofts and Avalon Bakery if you're familiar with the area.  In the end the price was right, but I decided it was too far from school.

I will hit you up on FB for your friend's info.  I'm accepting any networking offers I can find--thanks for being willing to share!

I'm really excited for you, Diana!  This will be such an experience.

Thank you so much!  Everyone (both here and IRL) has been so overwhelmingly supportive.  I can't even begin to say how grateful I am for that.  It has made what has been a serious of diffcult decisions with much more hard work to come, so much easier.

And, I will admit to being immature and unstable at 20 years old  I hope to have learned from the mistakes I made that year (overextending myself with equestrian team, working too many hours, taking a full school schedule and having an OOT boyfriend).

I also hope this will be easier than the month L was in Cali.  Good lord, I was a mess.  Again, I chalk that up to an extreme distance (I remember being really bothered that it was impossible to see each other on a regular basis and there was about a 30 minute window every evening where our schedules lined up to talk on the phone/skype) in addition to all of the uncertainty swirling around during that month.

I saw this as well, but didn't read it.  I don't want to give them the satisfaction of a "click."

    What is wrong with people?

  • A friend of mine is planning a gathering to counter the Westboro people.

They make me ill as well, but that article explains why they might show up, and honestly?  It kind of made me giggle.

The FB&HW show joked about offering an unofficial reward for disabling (not damaging) their vehicles while in town.

Noooo... for goodness sake, that would make them stay here longer!

Adding to the comments on long distance: Andy was in Dearborn when I was at MSU for a year of our relationship, then when we moved out to GR he did exactly what you are doing now for another year - finishing up his masters at Wayne State he'd drive out on Tuesday, sleep at a friend's place Tu/W and drive back late Thursday after class.  Honestly?  It wasn't that bad at all - definitely easier than the year we lived apart.

    Me too.

    Random fact:

Mike's grandma was Betty F's hairdresser when she lived here.

YAY!  One more thing taken off of the breakin' the law list.  Maybe.

  • So I read the article to find out what was so funny and yeah, lol.

GRSP, I still find it funny how you've turned Willa into a crusader for the rights of city-dwelling chicken farmers.

Thanks for mentioning that!  I nearly forgot to blog a related something that happened 2 days ago.

    That's neat!

  • awww man....I just saw online that the surviving daughter of the Hereen Family (from last week's tragedy) just gave birth to a son, five days before the incident. How horrible. I hope she has an awesome husband and support system to carry her through this.

Hooray! So now that everything's on the table with your job, can you share a bit more about what your plan is? Did you quit completely to do law school full-time? And where will you be going? (Apologies if you've shared this before and I missed it. And if you can't divulge specifics here, I understand.)

I'll be attending Wayne State and living with friends who are about 20 minutes from campus.  I'll be on the east side four nights per week and come home on the weekends.

I'm very excited for you. I hope the long-distance thing will end up being a piece of cake for you two!
