Re: Wednesday Randoms

  • The water was SO warm last night and we had such a fun time at the beach.  And, I saw l0vesummertime!  Hehe.
  • While I was getting ready this morning, I felt a little tickle on my arm.  It was a relatively large spider that was crawling up my arm.

It was traumatizing.  And my skin is still crawling.

Ewwww!  There was a spider in my shower this morning.  I squashed it with a flip flop.

  • Kasa - I got anxiety just reading your post.  Gah, I hate spiders.

I had a not so fun morning. :-(  I've had a slight foot injury, which I think aggravated an old ankle injury (one I've had to deal w/all my life and will always have to deal with).  I tried to run, but had to turn around after a mile because of the pain.  I haven't had a flare-up in maybe 8 years, so it was a bummer to feel it again.  I'm hoping with some RICE it'll go away in a few days.

  • Hope your foot/ankle feels better soon, Juli.  That sounds frustrating.

    **shudder**

This is one of my top five worst fears.  I hate waking up from a dream that something was crawling on me because I know it probably happened.  Ick.

If it's any consolation, spiders eat mosquitoes.

  • I too am tired. I woke up early to be at the office so a HVAC guys can get in here again since they still haven't fixed it. the Front zone is working fine but the back zone isn't working at all. We have a few people ready to come  in and use the space but they need the back zone and once the equipment and people are already in that area it going to heat up fast. We've been dealing with this for 3 weeks now, so not cool.

  • I had to do some stuff outside at work yesterday and the deer flies here horrible. I kept feeling like I had flies in my hair for the rest of the day. And then later on, someone had a tick on their ankle.  I felt so squimish all day.

I should really make an effort to do more weeknight beach "trips" (Hoffmaster is not even 3.5 miles from my house).  We are just so farking lazy.

It's fun, but it takes up a lot of time.  We didn't eat dinner till about 8:30 last night, and Tennyson didn't go to bed until about 9:30, and his normal bedtime is 8.  But I'm ok with being flexible on his bedtime because he is in seventh heaven at the beach.  Smile  The worst part is that laundry and dishes and all of the other chores get put on the back burner...but oh well, the beach is more fun and it's so nice to be outside enjoying the beautiful weather for the few short months that we actually get a chance to.  We're going back tonight.  Ha.  :)

  • Juli--sorry about your injury. Hope a little bit of RICE clears things up!

I need to get back on a running schedule; I haven't run much at all since Riverbank.  My knees were really bothering me towards the end of my training, so I wanted to give them plenty of time to recover.  And now it's hard to get back in the rhythm.

We're bad about doing things during the week.  After getting home from work, I don't have any motivation go out and do anything.

Usually about once a summer we get to the beach in the evening.  I'd love to do it more often -- and probably would -- if the beach weren't 45 minutes away.

  • A particular person I work with is driving.me.nuts.  He's already called me three times this morning.  He called me five times yesterday.  Plus the times he stops by my office and emails me.  I've been working on a project for him and he's so high-maintenance it's ridiculus.  He's just an irritating man in general.  I wish he wouldn't call me every single time he has a thought.

I'm having a hard time getting anything else done.

  • I can't remember the last time we turned on our TV.

H called DTV this morning to lower our cable package, and it cut our bill in half.  Still sucks we're paying $45 for something we hardly use, but yay for a lower bill.

Yes, this is my problem as well.  There are so many things I want to do:  cook dinner, clean up after dinner, pack my lunch for the next day, fit in a workout, go to the beach, relax for a bit...  In the end usually it's a huge accomplishment if I manage to cook dinner at home.

Embarrassed  We have our choice of two beaches within 5 minutes, four beaches within 10 minutes, five beaches within 20 minutes and six within 30 minutes.  Living on the lakeshore rocks!

I know you all have heard me complain about this before, I miss living so close to the lake!  I will do it again sometime.  At the same time though, I refuse to commute from the lakeshore to GR for work.

Since both of you work in GR and already own a home there, it doesn't make any sense for you to move to the lakeshore.  Sad

However, in our circumstance, we're both glad it worked out this way.  We love our location and most days don't mind the commute too much.  The commute would definitely not stop me from looking for work in GR nor would it cause us to want to move to someplace more central like Grandville if I were to work in GR.

My new tenant commutes from North Muskegon to the south of GR.  She loves the location of her house so much that she doesn't mind the commute (yet).  Smile

    Slightly related random,

Have you read Hotel at the Corner of Bitter and Sweet?  I think you would like it (historical fiction).  I just finished it and liked it pretty well.  It's also a relatively short and easy read.

  • No, I've never heard of it.  I'll have to look into it.  Thanks.
  • Thanks for the well wishes ladies - I'm icing it as we speak.  It is always difficult to put the bottom of my foot on ice, because my normal reaction is to jerk away.

Suze - GL w/getting back in the rhythm.  Getting started is always the hardest.

GVSU - Glad you found the tick and got him off!  So scary.  We actually found a tick on Gordie over the 4th and extracting it was less than fun (especially for G).

And I also wish I lived closer to the lake.  We don't make it out there nearly as much as I'd like.  I also wish I lived closer to downtown.  All things we will consider should we ever choose to move. :-)

No, sadly she is not.  Stick out tongue

Maybe he wants to come tomorrow and share a birthday with his dad?

Maybe!  Tennyson was born 2.5 hours before his dad's birthday.  H asks me every once in a while (still to this day, in a joking manner), "You couldn't have waited 3 more hours, could you?"  Wink

I can't even imagine how it must be to go overdue.  The suspense alone would be killing me.  And then add to that you're possibly feeling really uncomfortable, too...  Hang in there, Mira!

Disclaimer:  I have a bad memory.

For me, I don't remember being miserably uncomfortable.  I remember I was mentally checked out of work, therefore miserable being here so I went on leave a week before my due date.  But I feel like I enjoyed my last few childfree days at home and at the mall (walking laps.)  The suspense was probably the worst part.  :)  But it's so exciting at the same time.  The anticipation was awesome.

Labor on the other hand?  I have slightly less warm fuzzy feelings for that part.  Wink

Just sitting here remembering those days is getting me super excited for you Mira.  Haha.  :)

I'm ok at this point.  I mean I am uncomfortable, and very anxious.  But talk to me in a week.  I am sure I will be a whole different person by then.

I am starting to go a bit stir crazy.  It doesn't help that we live in a new area so we don't know places to go.  So far we just keep going to different malls to walk around.  H doesn't want me walking around in any parks/trails/woods.  Also he doesn't want me going anywhere alone.  I actually just got accompanied to the grocery store.  LOL I don't know what he thinks might happen.
