I'm ok at this point.  I mean I am uncomfortable, and very anxious.  But talk to me in a week.  I am sure I will be a whole different person by then.

I am starting to go a bit stir crazy.  It doesn't help that we live in a new area so we don't know places to go.  So far we just keep going to different malls to walk around.  H doesn't want me walking around in any parks/trails/woods.  Also he doesn't want me going anywhere alone.  I actually just got accompanied to the grocery store.  LOL I don't know what he thinks might happen.

Meh, it's probably not a terrible idea.  I get that it's a little paternalistic and I would probably roll my eyes were I in your shoes, but my CW's water broke during the middle of the workday when she went to pick up Subway for lunch.  Everything turned out totally fine, but what if you start having really bad contractions after your water breaks and don't feel okay driving?  Probably unlikely, but I think I'd prefer a grocery store escort to getting taken to the hospital in an ambulance.

Ran across an interesting article today regarding second hand smoke. Thoughts?

Interesting article and interesting study.  I hadn't heard about it before, but it makes sense to me.  Second hand smoke is a poison and it makes sense that it has a particularly negative impact on childrens' developing brains.

I read parts of the article to Ryan while Gabe was in the room and Gabe says "I had all that living with Grandma. That's Awesome."

I guess I can count myself really lucky that no one in my family were smokers. Ryan and Gabe both were around it a lot growing up.

My husband grew up in a smoky house, too.  He's pretty bitter about it and the affects that it may have had on his health.

  • My dad quit smoking when I was born.  We joke about it, actually, because he didn't quit when my bro was born 3 and a half years earlier.  It took a little girl to make him stop so obviously I'm his favorite kid.

    Yes

I so wish my brother would quit.  He doesn't smoke in the house (he lives in my parents' house and they wouldn't allow it) or really around my nephew, but I hate that it's bad for him and a bad influence on his son.

My FIL and BIL both smoke.  The BIL quit the last time I saw him, but when we saw him this past weekend he was smoking again.  And I immediately nagged.  I have told them both, "If we have grandkids, I want them to know their granddad/uncle, and you make that less likely every time you smoke."

I try not to get actually upset, but I try do push my family members to do things that will help them stay on this Earth longer.  Because I kind of like them and want them around.  That means, don't smoke, eat healthy/exercise/maintain a healthy weight, wear sunscreen, etc.
