I have the biggest zit on my temple.  It seriously looks like someone beat me with something.

I am not pleased that I am reporting this at the age of 37.  Not cool.

In the last 2 months, my face has started breaking out like I'm a hormonal teenager.  Which is ironic, since I didn't break out this badly when I WAS a hormonal teenager. :(

I have been using the Oil Cleansing Method for a few weeks now and I've noticed a HUGE improvement in my breakouts, even hormonal ones right before AF.  Now if I could figure out what to do about my chest and back with all my sweating I would be good to go.

What is this?  I saw you mention it on Facebook, did you post a link and I don't remember?

Here's a good write up on it.  I started using it about a week before Kris did & I'm loving it too.  Even the crazy hormones I've been taking haven't made me break out.

ETA:  I use 50% Castor Oil & 50% Sunflower oil in my mix, I have combination skin.  I plan on adding some drops of tea tree oil next time I go to HEB.

I'm using a blend of 2/3 castor oil, 1/3 EVOO with a few drops of tea tree oil.

Cooper loves to play "the birdie game."  Works perfectly.  Glad he is feeling better and hopefully he starts taking the medication without causing you too much of a workout.

I understand the theory and know how/why it works, it's really no different than old fashioned cold cream, but how do you get off super-strength-waterproof makeup?  Do you use an eye makeup remover first to get mascara off?

Ditto this.  Has he had roseola?  C's temp reached upwards of 105 when she had it.  It was super scary, involved many tests and doctor's visits, but was just good old roseola in the end.  I hope he's feeling better soon.

The oil removes my makeup, mascara included just fine.  But none of my makeup is waterproof so I can't attest to that part.

I use super-strength-waterproof mascara & the oil gets it off way better than any make-up remover ever did.

OK you may have just convinced me to try it, that was my one big sticking point.

  • I'd totally forgotten about the oil method! My skin is all kinds of 16-yr-old gross right now. I'm going to have to dig around to see if I have any castor oil left. Suzi - it's great at removing mascara.
  • almond, I'm so glad C is on the mend.  And I also apologize - until your update I completely forgot that when M refused oral medications or spit out medicine when given in a syringe (tylenol anyway), we did the Feverall suppositories.  She didn't like it (nor did we) but it sure brought her fever down.

exactly. I use EVOO and that works very well. If I have residual I go back with some cold cream.

Sorry i didn't update last night.  We got home late.

When we got there the nurse was skeptical his temp had gone that high.  We assured her that it had and were taken back pretty quickly.  They did a rectal temp and he was still at 105.  Did all vitals and said his ears looked really bad.  After that he got Tylenol suppositories because he wouldn't take anything orally.  Chuck cringed at the thought, but Cam didn't seem to mind too much.  A little angry birds keeps even the sickest kicks occupied :-)

Checked his temp an hour later still at 104.  Urgh.  Then they gave him a dose of motrin (only comes orally.)  I say they gave him.  they tried to give it to him.  Even the nurses with "tricks" came in and had a really hard time.  I think he might have gotten half of the motrin dose down.

Another hour later and the fever was down to 101.  We were told if it didn't get below 100 in the next 2 hours they'd hook up and IV.  Cold compresses and cold water and angry birds did the trick.  4 hours later we were home with lots of scripts and instructions to head back immediately if he gets to 104 again.

Last night was okay.  We were able to give him the Tylenol suppositories at home and he slept pretty well.  Still a bit of a fever but nothing to bad so far.  Now if we can get him to take the antibiotics.  I may have to strap him down.

My sister use to have swaddle my niece's arms and then have to basically pin her on the ground to get her to take meds.  It was awful, but nothing else seemed to work.

  • My colorist used Agadir argan oil shampoo, conditioner and then the leave in oil on my hair last night and it was so amazing that I *almost* dropped close to $100 on the 1 liter bottles.

Luckily I came to my senses and decided to check Amazon.  $45 for the 1 liter combo set.  Not to mention Swagbucks GC's.  Score!

No way.  DH would have a spastic fit.  I am SUPER blonde though.

I always say I want to do something different, but I never do it.  I was talking to DH about it last night.  I want to go dark red underneath and super blonde on the top layers.  He was less than enthused.  Luckily it's not his hair. :)

We'll see what happens in 7 weeks.

Fun!  I think that would look good.  :)

Our office manager has a three color thing going, platinum blonde on top, black in the middle and orange underneath.  It's... interesting.  But she pulls it off well. lol
