Looking back at your wedding

Re: Looking back at your wedding

  • I think my wedding turned out great. The only thing I would change is the photographer. Mine sucked. I should have spend a little more for the creative one.. mine was very traditional and just all around blah

  • Considering our budget we did what we could with what we had. I would change our color of bridesmaid dresses to a bold color. I would get a better photographer and I would have done a destination wedding.
  • I would have purchased a photography package that included the photos on a CD.  We only have prints, no digital rights.  My photographer was super expensive, so we couldn't justify adding an additional cost after the fact.  I am thankful however, that we had a video package.

I wouldn't have gotten sucked into the Knot.  Being on the message boards makes you get sucked into the trends of the moment (Mr & Mrs Signs, Cutesy Poems, Certain Vendors, etc.).  I loved the ability to see inspiration pics and hear vendor recs, but I ended up with a lot of extras that can be attributed to my obsession of posting on the Knot.  I was much more active on the boards back then under my old screen name.

I would have purchased a different Rehearsal Dinner dress.  It was a last minute decision and I hated it.  It was too revealing, but I waited until the last minute to find something.

I would have actually eaten some of the food/drink at Cocktail Hour and requested more specific pics from my photographer.  We were fairly limited due to the horrific weather and I'm really disappointed in my boring group shots as a result.

I definitely regret planning an outdoor wedding on the water that ultimately didn't happen, thanks to the weather.  I know you can't control it, but I'm still sad I didn't get to truly walk to down the aisle since our only rain backup was to have people sit at their dinner table in the reception venue.

And I sound like such a snob/baby after listing all of this.

  • If I knew what I knew now...I think I would have just flown our immediate families to Vegas and done it there. I think we would have enjoyed it a whole lot more and wouldn't have had all the drama associated with it.

I barely remember the day, my pictures are OK and we didn't have a really nice wedding because of budget. I certainly did what I could with it but it wasn't what I really wanted. I wouldn't have invited everyone on my work team, only 3 out of 12 showed up and I was stuck paying for those plates. I was so pissed.

  • I would have chosen nice bridesmaid gowns (they were hideous), and I wouldn't have let others talk me into the tacky garter toss.  Everything else was wonderful.

  • Oh and I would have chosen my bridesmaids more wisely Confused
  • I would have changed a bunch of things for sure.

I hated our photographer and our DJ.

I would have got more candid photos and more posed photos.  I did not get one picture with any of my grandparents. :(

  • I would have eaten more of my cake.

    That's it Smile
