Re: Friday Randoms
You can use the edit button to fix spelling mistakes, and no one will be the wiser. I use it a lot.
You got spoiled
Aw, that's super sweet!
Yeah... that makes it more difficult to enjoy the absent boss. Hope things aren't too busy for you today.
Today is going to be a such a long day. Wah.
Now I want blueberry pancakes!
DH *still* has not started the job he got at Fedex. It is the slowest freaking process and they keep rescheduling things. It's been a month and he still doesn't even have a start date. Freaking ridiculous.
However, he is at a job interview today for another company, that subcontracts for Comcast. It sounds very promising, and they called him based on a recommendation from some old Comcast coworkers after he got let go. So please keep your fingers crossed that he gets to start working soon. Somewhere.
Didn't your boss leave you a super important errand that needed to be taken care of today before lunch? And isn't it supposed to take about an hour? Or even more, maybe?
And by errand, I mean pedicure.
Good luck
Oh my gosh, thank you for the reminder! I would have gotten into so much trouble if I forgot to run his super important errand!
Freeburger, that's got to be maddening. I'm sorry for the long process.
Yay for pancakes!
We just found out that the disease is moving swiftly in the body of our Special Olympics friend. So terribly sad.
I'm sorry, GRSP.
Good Morning Friends. We survived Duck Lake yesterday but of course I got burned. I'm ok with it because we all had such a good time. Lunch at the cheetah was great. My Friends was with us and it was her first time there. SS ate his burger like he had never eaten before and then enjoyed Cookies & Cream Cheesecake that they had. Beach was HOT HOT HOT. Sand was burning our feet it felt like. DH got some great pic of SS. So glad SS had a good day.
We got home and SS got a card from is BM in the mail. He knew it was coming and it was going to have a GC for him. He opened it all open and looked to see how much the GC was for and stated "Only $30!". Apparently he was expecting more, like enough to get a new iPod touch. His reaction just crushed DH and myself and even my BFF who was still with us was kind of shocked. BFF gave SS the exact same amount earlier in the day in his Bday card from her. We tried to not make it seems like a big deal and I told him maybe she will be doing more when she is hear next month.
My favorite moment came later. SS had something stuck in his foot and asked if I could get it out. I tried but I couldn't get to it and while we were talking I told him that he is my favorite. He said your my favorite too. I laughed and said favorite what? He said your my favorite Mom. Damn neared cried right then and there. I gave him a kiss on each cheek and then the forehead and told him to take a shower.
GRSP, so sorry about your friend. **Hugs**
Deeder, that is so sweet re: your ss.
That brought a little tear to my eye. How sweet. What a great relationship you have with him. He really appreciates you.
I'm sorry too. That is so sad.
Deeder, that's wonderful.
Guys, I'm totally geeking on on my school reading. I'm reviewing an article about combining social justice and group counseling, and I think the connection between my brain and heart just had an orgasm. Wheeee!
Also, did you know that school guidance counseling started right here in Grand Rapids?
I totally admire people like you, GRSP, who are able to latch on to issues and make a real difference. So often I'm guilty of just burying my head in the sand because things like social justice (and a lack thereof) sometimes feel too big for me to do anything about.
