Does anyone have work out tricks. Between traveling 3 hours a day to and from work, cooking, cleaning, post wedding stuff, and trying to get some sleep I have no time to work out. Is there anything you guys did/do?
Re: SA Wednesday
Deepthi,
A good place to start is just going for a walk or job in the mornings or evenings. Do you watch any tv? If so instead of fast forwarding through the commercials do squats, push ups, jumping jacks, burpees, ect through the commercial breaks of an hour show.
Do any of you ladies know of any leadership or communication conferences, classes, or seminars? I have been advised the company would pay for some classes around the $300 or less price range and I came up pretty empty on google. I found some super expensive ones and others that are religion based or mens only. Any ideas?
3 tbsps of anything is not enough breakfast to even get me by for an hour, but did you really have to put the idea of a cinnamon roll in my mind?
Lacey is famous! She got blogged on Groom Sold Separately for BABC!
I am in a pretty good mood this morning! 30 Day Shred is amazing and I was on such a workout high last night I was dancing around my bedroom at 9:30pm.
Deepthi- I have only done one day of 30 DS but it is literally 30 minutes from start to stop including cool down. And the results, take a look at these:
One
Two and Three
Four, Five, Six... (these are bikini pics, so if your work is touchy, just look at the others!)
What? Where?
I don't know about you but I find it so much harder to eat well when I am home. During the school year I am at work in the mornings and at school all afternoon but this summer has been killer for me as I have done nothing but snack!
Also - if you are watching calories, something BL turned me onto was the breakfast cookie, found here. You could totally add cinnamon and get the yummy cinnamon taste you are craving without killing your calories for the day.

ETA: I just realized my favorite bride with the flower boob dress is also on there! I loved her so much and I told her if she wanted to come tell us about her wedding after and show us pics she could find us here, haha!
ETA 2.0 - Stephie is there too! She is kind of blurry but you can still tell it is her.
Yay for blogs and fluffy boob dress girl! Ha ha.. I can't believe that dress looked so good on her.
Leslie - I have the 30 DS and wasn't overly impressed with it. I mean its a good workout but I can't imagine getting results like that from it when I am already doing things much more intense on a regular basis.
Do you think the girl in those pictures did much of anything prior to starting the workout? Maybe I should give it another shot.... :-/
Thank you, Leslie! I'm totally having the same problem... since Jack is out of school for the summer, my normal schedule is completely whack. These look like something I could keep at my desk!
Oh yay! I loved that dress, too. She looked so amazing. What was the hold up on her decision, because she had it on for like an hour?
From reading the Shredhead blogs, the couple on that blog literally did 30 DS and a healthy diet. The people on My Fitness Pal all claim they only did 30 DS and the girl in the first link had lost 20 pounds prior to 30 DS with diet only and then decided to do 30 DS. She finished 30 DS and moved to C25k, so it seems like she was kind of a workout novice.
We are alternating 30 DS with running for 6 days a week total workout, so we'll see what kind of results I get. The shred will probably take us closer to 60 because of that. I will take before pics and maybe I will have the guts to post them here afterward.
I have a dumb 30DS question, because I don't have time at the moment to google and read all about it... but is it every single day, and is it a workout plan only, or workout and meal plan?
I've been watching what I'm eating for about 2 months now, and have lost 8 pounds, but I really want to add some good workouts to my life so I can keep it off when I stop my calorie-cutting diet. I have the hardest time staying committed to any type of regular workout routine... a lot of it is lack of momentum - you know, you sit down on the couch and think you'll go work out in a few minutes, and all of a sudden it's bedtime - and a lot is because of lack of time (I'm working quite a bit right now).
Hmm interesting! Well, it just so happens that I have exactly 30 days until we go to Vegas. I may try doing this every single day that I don't run or do Body Pump and see what happens. It couldn't hurt, right?
Her budget was originally $600 but they had found a dress earlier for $650 that her mom said was ok but that was the absolute limit. Her friend talked her into trying on the the dress even though it was $1000. She didn't think she would like it but she ended up loving it and have "the moment" but it was still $300 over her budget. She cried some when she had to hang it on the hanger, which of course killed me.
I couldn't let her not leave with that dress because it was made for her. I asked her how high she could go on the dress and went to the director to see how firm the prices were and told her that she knew as well as I did that the dress was not for everyone. She came over and agreed to come down to $700+tax with a free dress bag. The girl talked to her mom and her mom told her she wanted her to put it back on again, so she did and her mom agreed.
Her whole wedding budget is $3500, so a $1000 dress was huge. She kept telling me thank you and saying she never imagined she would ever have anything this nice and she just couldn't believe it. I will totally do BABC again just because of that one experience.
YAY for blogs and making peeps famous!! I'm so excited to see this. I wish all of us were on there! HAHA
Leslie & BL, thanks again for good workout get-started pointers! DH & I are all talk still. I swear we say "ok let's start tonight" and it never happens. UGH I'm curious now about the 30DS too. Do tell!!
I find it so much harder when I am home vs at work. Honestly I think I eat out of boredom sometimes and I am often bored at home.
I had a cinnamon raisin breakfast cookie this morning.
Yay for your girls on the blog!
As far as I know it is workout only, no diet plan. It is supposed to be 5 days a week for 30 days, two rest days (I think Wednesday and Sunday are recommended?) You can get it for less than $10 at Wal-Mart. You will need to buy some 3 lb weights if you don't have them but I got mine at Wal-Mart for $2.50 each.
Tear. That's awesome that you bargained the price down for her.
So we are building a house and will be selling our house we have now to our builder if it does not sell before we are ready to move in. It seems ever since we put a for sell sign on our house little minor things keep popping up to fix or replace. I have never had to do much of anything, except regular maintenance, to my house. This is so annoying since I know we will be moving in about four months or so. It would be nice if everything would just stay the way it is until we move. My toilet seat decided to come loose this morning. Luckily, I was not on it at the time. lol Building this house is stressful and I just needed to vent about one of the issues we are having.
Leslie, I think you've convinced me! I totally look into it. DH and I were talking about waking up in the morning and swimming in our pool since we can only do it for a couple more months. Our lazy butts have yet to get up when the alarm goes off. Maybe we can do this right before we have dinner or while we are waiting for it to cook.
I love that story. While it was slow when I was there on Friday we still had a blast and we were able to find a dress for a bride. It was the first dress she ever tried on! She fell in love and it looked amazing on her.

30 DS is circuit training, so you do approx. 5 minutes of warm-up, 20 minutes of workout and 5 minutes of cooldown. The 20 minutes is non-stop, no time for more than a squirt of water and you do 3 minutes of strength, 2 minutes cardio and 2 minutes of abs for three circuits total. There are three levels on the DVD and you do each level for 10 days.
I was worried that it might be boring to do the same workout for 10 days, but then I thought about it and really, it's only 10 days...I can suck it up. One of the girls on a fitness blog recommended listening to the DVD for the first few times then muting it and putting on your own music, which I will probably do to keep it fresh.
All you ladies talking about BABC and seeing the pictures are making me want to do it with y'all next year. Leslie that story made me tear up.
DH is on a plane to Vegas until Sunday. I was so tired last night I feel asleep before SD and so I didn't get much time with DH before he left. He gets home Sunday at 5 and will go straight from the airport to pick up SD and then finally come home. I can't wait until 8:30 Sunday night when I finally get alone DH time.
My mom wants to take me and SD to dinner tonight and then go shopping to get me maternity clothes. She said that she did it for my step sister and even though most of my regular clothes still fit she wants to take me shopping so we are having mommy/daughter night tonight. I'm excited!
Oh, I forgot, I was going to ask you girls your opinions on this:
If you reconciled with DH after he was not faithful to you would you feel justified in cutting off all contact with other women, even if the woman in question was a married friend of his that had been friends with him before you even met him?
ETA: #1 - I am neither woman in this situation and #2 the female friend is not the person he was unfaithful with.
So I get to the gym today ready for BodyPump only to find that they switched it back to yoga. So I trudge to the car for my yoga mat, come back, and am immediately dizzy and nauseous after the first posture. This happened the last time and I fought through it but not this time. Yoga is not for me I guess. I used to really enjoy it.
My workouts are not doing ANYthing. I seriously considered just giving it all up today just to see if it even makes any difference.
Crystal, that spider bite sounds brutal. I wish I could say repacking the wound won't be that bad -- but I can't. However, it can't be any worse than what you have already gone through!
With All the Trimmings
Just do it!
No. If you've reconciled, you have to be able to trust him and if you can't then you need to move on. If the only way to trust him is for him to cut off all contact with other women, then you haven't resolved the issue.
I did reconcile with ex-hubby after an affair. It still didn't work out, although it probably wouldn't have anyway.
With All the Trimmings
Just do it!
I would say no, that's not justified at all. Cutting off his contact with all women is not a solution... it means you haven't truly reconciled because you don't trust him.
I realize trust will be very difficult after something like that, but they need to get counseling and work through it.
Well put. I agree!
Are said couple in therapy? If so, what does the therapist say?
It's hard for me to comment on this. I do believe you should work through everything that happens in a marriage. But, cheating is very close to being a deal breaker for me. I've been cheated on before (not while married, obviously - so not by DH) - and it left me very damaged - emotionally and physically (due to stress). Going through that and having trust issues - it can tear you apart. So, while I want to say - yes, all contact with the opposite sex should cease - that also creates so much unhealthiness in a marriage. Broken trust is unhealthy as it is. So, after all that rambling, I say that contact with the opposite sex should cease until they begin seeing a marriage counselor. Then they should do what the counselor advises.
