Anyone watching the Nick and vanessa wedding on tlc?
It seems like they made it sound like they never had vaginal intercourse before getting married, just oral sex. Like they haven't had sex with each other at all yet? Am I understanding this right because that seems like bs.

I am watching. I love them together. As much as I can say this about someone I have never met, I'm happy he seems happy. He seemed SOOOOO heartbroken after his divorce. I've always thought he came off as a nice guy. Joe Simpson would be a difficult wife
ETA: I just saw the part you're talking about (I am DVRing it). My guess is that she "cut him off" some amount of time before the wedding.

This. I shamelessly loved Newlyweds and it's difficult for me to get on board with Vanessa. I think I secretly want Nick for myself. Shhhh...don't tell my DH.
I watched it. They seem like they really love eachother.

They both host television shows. And I'm sure they maid a pretty penny selling the rights to TLC to film their wedding.

He got a lot of money in the divorce. 20 millionish, if I remember correctly.
According to wikipedia, she'll be co-hosting beginning in winter 2011. (I'm quite disappointed, as I usually enjoy Wipeout.) I assume she'll be replacing Jill Wagner.
Before this she was hosting True Beauty.
Nick was also been doing commercials recently for a local cellular provider here in Cincinnati. They've been pretty terrible commercials too.

Hmmm I thought they were saying that they have never had oral sex, only vaginal intercourse, and that she promised him she would start after the wedding.
I could only watch a little of it. I found him to come off as unlikable (similar to how he came across on Newlyweds but not quite as bad). I also was totally clutching my pearls at them throwing their own wedding shower and inviting people who didn't make the cut as wedding guests. TACKY.
This whole thing was strange especially because they made such a big deal about Jessica staying a virgin until they were married. It was just...weird.

MH said the same thing. I feel like this is different though. Last time he had cameras in his home for years. This was just his wedding. Kinda the same thing as selling their wedding pics to OK magazine or something.

This is exactly what they were saying. He made a joke about a BJ and then he said that she had been holding out. After they joked about it her best friend laughed and said something about her gagging/choking on her wedding night.
ETA: For the last paragraph, it sounded like a lot of people COULDN'T make it to the wedding b/c it was a destination wedding and it was last minute. Because of this they threw a party so that they could celebrate with all of the guests that couldn't make it to the island ceremony.
i thought vanessa seemed REALLY whinny. i mean, i get it not talking with her mom and stuff but i was like please shut up.
and i totally agree with the pp about nick learning the first time around. blah.

my real mom isn't but i was raised by my step mom. serious answer- i get pretty annoyed with people being whiny about moms/dads. not saying it didn't affect me even though i have a fabulous mom (step or not) but it really does get on my nerves and i thought she was a little over the top about it. like, if the mom left when she was 8 (i think that's what she said) and now she is an adult it should prob be something that she has dealt with.
that's understandable. i mean, i'm sure i've been very whiny in the past so i'm really no one to judge about it.

I have no idea how Vanessa makes her money but I think Nick has plenty laying around. He was in a very successful band that sold millions of albums, had a fair settlement in the divorce, has sold the rights to film at least two different relationships, has had TV acting jobs, made several guest appearances, hosted many TV shows, was the creator and producer of the MTV show 'Taking the Stage' and is part-owner of a semi-pro sports team. He def seems like his has a head for for the entertainment business.
