B&M Monday

I'm exhausted. Only 2 more weeks then I'm home free!

We looked at townhomes this weekend and didn't find anything remotely close to what we are looking for and that fit our price range, so I think we are going to be staying in an apartment. Kind of bummed about that. Because while I'm not ready for a house, I wanted something a little bigger and with more privacy.

Oh well. Such is life. Guess we will be searching for an apartment because we have to be out in October!

Re: B&M Monday

  • Two B&M's and one cool thing...

    1) Jack is about to leave for a week at church camp. I really really don't know how it's possible that he's old enough to do this! I've been away from him for longer than a week before, but he's always been with family. I know he'll have a blast and learn a lot... just dealing with Mommy nerves!

    2) Last week's little drama-spot got me de-friended by you-know-who. Ahhh, blacklisting. It's been a while, my old friend!

And the cool thing? We're staying in a hotel at the airport tonight so that we cn fly out at 4:30 a.m. for Hawaii! YAY!

  • Summer, yay for the class being over.

I dont have a ton to complain about, because I have been off since Thur and Matt starts a temp job today so its not bright and shiny but there is a light.

On Sat we layed out at the pool and my legs got super sun burnt.  It still hurts to wear pants and I have tried so many things and hardly anything gives me any relief.

  • Chelsea, if it helps any Matts all time favorite memories from his entire childhood are church camp memories. Wow @ the defriend thing and super jealous of Hawaii

    BL,

I saw your pictures on FB. Ouch! Sunscreen! ;)

  • Summer (the person)- The end is near!

    Chelsea - Wow!

It's Monday! Enough said. I really rather not be here and wish I could just go back home and take care of all the stuff I couldn't get to this weekend.

I know :(.  I had sunscreen on and did the same thing I always do and put a lighter SPF on my legs since they never burn and my only conclusion is that I was an idiot for not taking into account the 104 degree heat.

  • I tried to lay out this weekend but I only lasted about an hour. It wasn't even relaxing because it was so hot, and the water wasn't refreshing. :(

The sun is incredibly intense right now, but it's not so much about the temperature as it is the UV rays. One of the worst sunburns I've ever had was from a cloudy day. Being next to water on a light-colored ground was probably hitting you with lots of reflected light.

But hey... it gives you a reason to work those legs in a skirt! :)

  • Chelsea - As if we needed any more confirmation who the random poster was... oh well, you don't need "friends" like that anyway, right?

BL - Yuck to sunburns! I have a small one, but I saw yours on FB last night and it made me hurt for you.

My B&M - Yesterday, while swimming in our pool, I decided to try diving again.  I used to be able to do it well about 10 years ago, so I assumed I'd still be able to do it flawlessly.  Boy, was I wrong.  I took a few practice dives off the side before getting on the board.  They were just fine... so I ventured over to the board. I over-corrected the dive wayyyyy too much and felt my back crack, literally in half.  I am in so much pain today!

  • I lost my paycheck on Friday. It fell out of my bag at the Little League World Series and I didn't realize it until I was all the way home and in the drive-thru of the bank. It sucks more because it was last week's, so it actually had 15 extra hours on it. I am hoping my boss will re-print the check, but I will probably have to cover the stop payment fee. Depending upon how much that is, it will really take a chunk of my "extra" money.

This isn't really a B&M, but it is so incredible I had to share: A friend of mine announced her pregnancy on FB yesterday. They weren't trying and she was on birth control, so it was a surprise, but that happens all the time right? They found out Friday they are having triplets. Can you even imagine?!?

  • I didn't sleep well at all last night. Kept waking up. Going on all of 2 hours of sleep today. It's gonna be a long day. On a happier note: 1) I finally got a new iPhone. Mine was a piece 2) I've got dinner ready it just needs to go in the oven (which actually leads to a B&M... There is something wrong with our oven. It just keeps heating up! ) 3) I got to see kittens this morning! But they are going to the shelter. They were found at work and no one can take them. But they are kittens and very cute kittens so I doubt they will have any problems getting adopted.

  • Brianna, that sounds painful, I hope it starts feeling better soon.

    Leslie, wow@ the triplets!

  • Leslie - Oh.Em.Gee... that scares the hell out of me.   With my luck.. Tongue Tied

    Chelsea - Super Jealousssss!

On another note, you guys have me scared now after last weeks mole discussion.  I made an appointment to have mine checked because I haven't had that done in literally a decade at least.   Bad Tiffany.    I also had a fairly major meltdown yesterday because I realized I am getting spider veins on my legs... lots of them.  Out of nowhere.  I'm very, very upset.  :(

  • It seems my morning routine keeps having things added to it and I thought today was going to be THE day that I would get everything done and to work on time.  At the end of making my GM and heading towards the door, I realized I didn't do my hair.  Or zip my pants.  I am drying it with the fan at work.

Ouch on the sunburn.  My worst sunburn was last year on a cloudy day as well.

  • BL - Sorry about the sunburns. We were working in the yard all day yesterday and I'm surprised I didn't get one. I need to really buy some sunscreen.

Brianna - Ouch! Are you ok? Yea I didn't perfect my dive until I was diving tipsy. I don't recommend it, but it was fun.

Leslie - I would have completely flipped out! I'm surprised your so calm about it and wow triplets. They have a lot on their plate now.

  • I felt like I was awake all night last night.  I worked on Saturday, and some things in my excel file weren't matching up to things in my pdf file, and I dreamed about it all stinking night last night, and then I'd wake up and just stare at the ceiling and tell myself it was okay, I'd figure it out today.  This happened at least 10 times last night.

But surprisingly, I'm pretty with-it this morning - I got up early with DH (today's his first day of school!) and after he left, I got ready, ate a breakfast taco at the dining room table, did a load of laundry, and still made it to work earlier than usual.  I'm proud... and also wary of an impending crash later today.

PS, my sis told me a way to make breakfast tacos for the whole week, and how to heat them up, and it was delicious this morning.  Way better than granola bars, and less than 300 calories.  I'm hooked.

OMG. Heck no. One at a time, please.

  • BL - yikes on the sunburn.  With my red hair, I totally feel ya. it Happened to me the second to last day on our honeymoon last year.  I was in PAIN.  But at least the trip was almost over, and not just starting.

    Brianna, rest that back!  yuck.

Seems like I always miss the drama on days when I'm not here.  Normally wouldn't matter, except then it gets brought up, and I am so freakin nosy, it bothers me.  Guess I have some threads to go back and look through.  :)

My B&M - DH set a "budget" for us in Mint.  I don't mind that except it doesn't total the amount of income we actually make monthly, by like a few thousand dollars.  Then he keeps telling me we are going over our budget, so we need to cut back our spending.  I would be worried if we were spending more than our income, but we are not!  It is this circular discussion we keep having and it is ridiculous!

My boss re-cut my paycheck and didn't make me pay the stop payment fee. Yay!

Re:triplets - She and her husband are actually taking it pretty well, the husband is really excited but he also is not the one who already looks five months pregnant at nine weeks.

To be completely honest and offer full disclosure - I was a little bitter betty since we *are* trying and nothing is happening. Then about 10 minutes later I realized I was being an idiot - they are staring down bed rest, pre-term delivery, possibly NICU complications, one of them having to leave their job to take care of these kids, constant financial worry for the next 22-ish years, three college tuitions at the same time, etc.

  • I'm glad they re-cut your check Leslie.  I lost one check a few years ago.  Right after they made me another one, someone called the business saying they had my check.

  • BL and Brianna - Ouch, I'm sorry.  :(

    Yay for Hawaii.

    Triplets?  No thank you!!

We went to Corpus this weekend and had a very nice, relaxing time.  Of course on our drive home yesterday we were stuck in traffic for about an hour.  Gotta love 35.

Leslie, I dealt with this. Jack was conceived on BC, and Mack and I had a miscarriage in 2005, also on BC. So we figured that when we started actually TRYING, it'd happen immediately! No such luck. We tried for 18 months before we were able to get pregnant with Dot. I would have been ok if it weren't for the fact that every-freaking-month one of my girlfriends would announce, "Surprise! We're pregnant and weren't even trying!" UGH.

We found out we were pregnant at the fertility specialist office. :) We had just completely given up, and BAM. Hi Dorothy! :)

I wondered about this and there is nothing wrong with feeling that way. I honestly think you are a very strong person for not letting it engulf you.

  • You all are scaring me with the PG-on-BC stories! I have a friend who got PG while taking BC, but she told me she'd missed some pills (as she frequently did) so I knew it wasn't a failure of the BC.

I take mine at the same time every day and panic if I miss the mark by even 15 minutes. I can't watch that show, I Didn't Know I Was Pregnant, because it makes me so paranoid.

It really is very very rare. My body is highly resistant to medication, which I've always known, but for some reason didn't think it applied to birth control. I need to be on the strongest stuff out there... the regular pill wasn't worth a whole lot to me. On Depo, I stayed nice and safe. :)

  • Having an IT guy really is no help if they are never here.  I don't know why, 2.5 years of being here, I am surprised.  I always have to figure it out myself or call my husband.

I'm not only jealous of your trip Chelsea, but your heels in your blog today!  I think staying the night is very smart.  We had to get up at 2 am and drive to DFW for our HM.  Same thing on the way back.  It's not a lot of fun.

Speaking of all the PG talk, in last night's dream Brianna was admitted to L&D with Tiffany and Lacey providing commentary.  Then Anna shared that she found out why she's been acting weird: she's pregnant!

I am actually okay with multiples, "one" and done.

Commentary?!  What on earth were we saying??

I'm okay with multiples also, but 2 would be my limit.....and not when it is not planned. Heh.  I mean, not like I'd have a choice or anything though..
