monday blues

had a FANTASTIC weekend!  the wedding we went to friday was the best ever. so fun.  so much nasty white wine.  so hungover on saturday...

saw cowboys and aliens and then ate like kings at my dads birthday dinner.  bbq pork, corn on the cob, caprese salad, peach pie...it was a great way to end the day.

9 mile run yesterday followed by errands, a few hours on the beach, and a great jack and jill wine party.  ended on a not so great note (see blog), but seriously, the party was beautiful and fun.

need to run and work really hard on WW this week (lost the last 3 weeks, but with cheese incident this weekend, again see blog, i really need to balance it out for weigh in on friday). no plans this week or this coming weekend which both sound glorious to me!

happy (?!?!) monday, ladies!

i LOVED it.  and gerren loved it.  and my dad loved it.  And it should be noted, Daniel Craig is now my #1 celebrity crush, replacing Jake Gylenhal by a landslide.

  • It's 8:13 and I'm annoyed as hell.

was an ok weekend until saturday night when josh and i got into a fight.  he was a drunked idiot.  We were all good sunday after a nice long talk and me explaining some things to him since he couldn't comprehend them in his drunkenness on saturday.

People at work are buggin the he!! out of me.  The lady in the office next to me is really getting on my nerves.  She has access to my bosses email (from before i was hired) and has been checking it every morning (which i'm supposed to do).  BUT before I even sit down, she's in my office telling me about all these emails he has.  Why don't you let me get my computer on and read them for myself!?!?

Then, whenever I ask her about something or talk to her about something (we just talk from our offices b/c we're pretty isolated), she comes in my office and stands behind me looking at my computer, like everything I'm talking to her about is in email form and she can read it.  1.)  Not everything is communicated through email.  2.) you don't have to read it 3.) you really don't have to read it behind my back.  If it's that important, I'll forward it to you.

AND, my last B***H moment for today is the fact that we have my cousin's wedding in chicago on 8/13.  We asked MIL MONTHS ago if she would watch our dog that night for us.  Talk to her this weekend and now she can't do it "unless we absolutely can't find someone else."  I'm starting to really understand why some people just can't stand their ILs.  I used to like mine (except for SIL) but MIL, FIL, Step MIL are all starting to get on my last nerves!

  • I read your blog Shauni. I'm sorry about your cheese incident. I use to do that after girl scout daddy/daughter dances. I don't think I went to 1 were i didn't come home and throw up.

My weekend was ok. Yesterday kinda sucked. I spend a good 5 hours worrying/trying to find subs for today. I accomplished it and everything is cover but it still ruined my Sunday Funday.

We have decided to go to Key West the weekend of Aug 12-15. This could be our last trip before the lo arrives. I am hoping NOT but with football season coming I'm not sure how much time off Greg can get on the weekend. My FIL will be going to Mass for a weddding that weekend. So we will have the house to ourselves. This also means we will spend more money because if he was there he would pay for alot of things (Yes, I know we are adults and can pay our pwn way but I learned LONG ago with my in laws they like to do it and wouldn't take no for an answer.)

I was watching something on the history channel (I think) this weekend and it was about cowboys back in the day and their stories about seeing "big bulletproof birds" in the sky.  Of course they were implying the cowboys were seeing UFO's but it made me think of this movie.

  • Hi hi hi hi hi hi ladies, I've missed you!!!

Between Vegas trip, getting promoted, firing my employee, hiring a new employee, starting training, Idaho trip, continuing training and vacation coverage, I have been a bad Nestie.  Today is the first day back to normal (which means 3+ hours of boredom!)  I've been lurking to keep current, but haven't had to time to post.

This weekend DH's Grandpa's wife (NOT grandma) was airlifted to a hospital in Denver (from Durango, about 7 hrs away) for an 8th bypass surgery.  Oh yeah, I said 8.  And the poor woman is 87.  Grandpa drove up and I spent all day Saturday at the hospital w/ MIL and Grandpa.  Took him home to stay with us then got up butt asss early to do it all over again on Sunday.  I was supposed to be off work today, but came in so I wouldn't have to go to the hospital again.  I sound like a biatch, but I barely know Grandpa, let alone the woman he left Grandma for a few years ago, so it's really weird.  Plus after Idaho, I've had enough of DH's family to last a lifetime...

Came in today to the server being down and dumb asss people trying to log in.  Oh happy day :)

  • And Shauni, your blog made me LOL.

"And I attacked it like the fat kid at heart that I really am."

    love love love!

  • I'm back at work after a week off.  And for today, and possibly tomorrow, I don't really have anything to do.  It's going to be a LONG week.  On the plus side, I just looked at the calendar, and my boss goes on vacation at the end of the month!

I had a pretty good weekend.  On Friday I visited the camp I used to work at - I made sugar cookies with the camp logo and they were a huge hit!  Now I have to convince the director he should pay me to make some for his open houses in the winter.  On Saturday I went to a hot air balloon festival.  The weather was perfect and every balloon launched!  It's so pretty to see a sky full of hot air balloons.  My sisters and I are going to try to schedule a flight for us (since DH refuses to get up early enough to go with me).  I also got to meet SusieQ and Baby Q, and her H.  Baby Q is adorable in person!

On Sunday, I slept in and spent the day doing nothing.  Spent a large part of the day annoyed with DH.  We're like roommates - we barely interact with each other. I'll have to make him talk to me - maybe on Thursday when he doesn't have a workout.

My deal is that I am going to murder your puppies and piss on your rainbows. -diablesse Lilypie Premature Baby tickers
  • Good morning ladies! Today starts my five pounds down campaign. My goal is to lose five pounds a month from now until March. I'll weigh in on the first and last day of every month.

I feel out of sorts. I slept way too long last night, my allergies are bothering me, and I stood in the lobby of my building for 25 minutes because the fire alarm was going off so the elevators weren't working.

I had a fabulous weekend at Lori's. So relaxing and awesome. Gorgeous weather.

I arrived there Thursday at 9:30. Friday we lounged around outside and Gus actually went swimming in the Rabbit Hole in the creek. We went to the Chinese Buffet at 4. We came back for more deck lounging and wine. Peters arrived around 8. I was passed out by 10:30. Saturday more lounging on the deck, fair in the afternoon, more deck time and wine. Sunday I left at 11:15, got home at 3, went grocery shopping, emptied the dishwasher, packed two days of lunches, marinated london broil, watched Teen Mom and The Challenge on DVR, then fell asleep at 6:00. I intended to wake up when MFD got home at 7, but woke up at 11:40 instead. He gave me a kiss when he came in, but I never woke up. So there goes that night. LOL. I slept through until this morning at 7.

Lots to do this week. Relay meeting on Wednesday. Need to get a shower gift and go to Sam's and the library as well. Trying to push the Sam's trip off till next week though. And I'm already in a rage about having to drive over an hour for a bridal shower on Saturday. Pissed off that I didn't say no.

  • Glad you're back Misty!

Shauni, I'm sad you barfed brie. Brie is magic to me.

  • Hey all! We had a good weekend. Friday was boring, I was home all day except for grocery shopping.... Saturday was good, we had SIL and kids over for dinner- grilled burgers, corn on the cob, baked beans... mmmm. Yesterday was a lazy day, didn't do much of anything except clean up the kitchen after the mess Saturday.

Today I am headed to the vet to buy the monthly heartworm/flea junk for the furbabies, and then who knows what.

I am looking forward to this weekend though, H and I are headed to the coast guard fest for the weekend... Beach, sun, sand... hopefully relaxation for H, he has been grumpy to the core for about a week or so. bah.

  • Hiiiiii ladies!

I'm in a good mood, probably because I'm still at home (pacific time zoner here) and haven't had a chance to be annoyed by co-workers yet.

And also I bought a crapton of stuff this weekend!  Ordered the PBK chair and ottoman for Predator's room (and they comped shipping, which would have been at least $125, woot!), got an adorbs sleep sack outfit (hat, blanket that matched) at Janie & Jack, some really cute stuff at Gap Baby, and then a bunch of maternity clothes at Gap that were actually on sale!  New purse for me - Michael Kors, originally $435, got it for $110 at Nordstrom Rack.  Good weekend.  Then I ordered a new duvet for our bed from Crate & Barrel; we're going to try to use a King on our Queen size bed, since H is a cover hog but insists I'm the culprit.  That, at least, I had leftover wedding gift cards, so I paid $50 instead of $200.  And now I've got to put the credit cards away........

And I tried to put up pics from Gap last night but it wasn't working, boo.

  • Steph - Gooooo!  You can do eeeet!  What are you going to do that's different?  I'm always impressed with how often you go to the gym already.

Shauni - I love to hear your running stories, because it always reminds me of when you first started, and you were like, is there going to come a time where I can easily run more than a mile? and you got there so, so quickly!

Xtine - enjoy your trip!  It sounds awesome, even if you will have to buy stuff while you're there.  Stick out tongue

    Brew - hiiiiii, lady!

  • Shauni Im oh so very sorry about your brie mishap. I hope you two make up soon!

    Misty welcome back!

Dirty Dash was amazing! I am so unbelievably sore but it was beyond fun! There are pics on the fb and blog maybe to come. Other than puking up Olive Garden friday night my weekend was uneventful.

Lunch with a friend today! I believe that is all.

  • Good buys Mush!!! Remind me, what is your nursery scheme/colors?

We do king duvet/comforter and summer quilts on our queen bed.

    image
  • Mush - actually I'm just piggy backing on what I'm doing now. I can see a difference in my body finally, so I'm going to continue on at the gym as I have been but add another cardio class on Tuesday. So Zumba Monday and Wednesday, cardio class Tuesday, sculpting Thursday, treadmill Friday. If I have to miss gym time at lunch for a meeting or work thing, then I will walk at home with a DVD. I'm also starting off with two nights a week of hand weights in front of the TV and increasing to three in a few weeks. And more stretching.

As for eating, treats need to be fewer and I have to be better on the weekends.

  • Mush- Those are some great buys... so jealous of your great deals! :)

Shauni- I am amazed at your running. YOU RULE WOMAN! and so sorry for the cheese issue. :(

Steph- Your workout schedule scares me.

Brew- so glad to see you back!

  • The nursery was already painted in two colors of green (1 wall darker); they are calld cucumber and cactus, so like light to medium green.  We picked the Jackson bedding from PBK, which is a whale theme, so it's mostly blue, but the green accents match our walls perfectly.

The crib is antique black, and we'll get a black Ikea Hemnes dresser when we have time to think about it.

The Jackson/whale theme window valance, mobile, and decals were all on sale at PBK, so we went ahead and bought those so we'll have them.

I'm so excited about it all!  It's really coming together.  Nothing's put together, of course, and all the furniture in there is still guest room, but at least we know what it's going to look like.

That sounds like an awesome plan!  I know the time I got in the best shape of my life, I went to this Body Pump class Mon/Wed (weight lifting class to music), spinning Tues or Thurs, and then treadmill hill route the other two days.  It totally worked for me, but I had no life, because I couldn't do it at lunch, so it was only after work.  Then I met H and got fat.  Stick out tongue

Also, I found that the more I took care of the exercise part, the less I wanted the treats.  Hope that's the case for you, too!  I'm so looking forward to getting back into a rigorous gym routine after Predator is born.

ETA:  I can't exercise at lunch because I sweat like a fracking pig, and I can't let myself just wash & go, I have to blow dry.  It'd take me 2.5 hours if I tried to go during the day!

  • Hi Brew!!!!  Nice to have you back.

Did Brie really cause a mishap?! bullocks.  I don't believe it. I <3 brie.  Well, really, I <3 all cheese except the Italian one with maggots.  Will have to go check out the blog.

     awww....a whale theme.  SO cute.

EmiLee...nice on the cookies.  Do you have photos?

  • Monday :( I didn't do much this weekend, ran a few errands, had a nice run on Saturday evening with husband and dog and became a veggie on the couch. Not totally a waste of a weekend as I painted my fingernails, did a little cleaning and bought some flowers for the front porch/walkway. I also have to admit that I watched many episodes of Toddler & Tiara's, Millionaire Matchmaker and 2-3 of My Fair Wedding, hah!

Today - drove into work as I have an acupuncture appointment nowhere near my commuter train and am hoping to get home by 7pm to take the dog on a walk and then DH and I will stop by his parents house as it's his dad's birthday today (his mom's was on Friday) and we have a gift card for Caffino's coffee for him.

Sounds loverly, hope you post pics when it's done.  *sigh* I'm on the baby train hardcore and I REALLY REALLY don't want to deal w/ the infertility and doctors and drugs.  Can't I just get knocked up cuz I really wanna be?

  • Mush, your nursery sounds great!

If I can't exercise during lunch, I can't do it. I can't sustain a 5 or 6 day a week exercise plan if I have to do it all at night or in the morning. It won't happen. I can wash and go thank you tiny baby sweathog jesus! I'm a sweatER.
