"Research" question for my business

I'm thinking of Clean Sweep now :)

Solution for things like papers 'OK, so what's in this box? OK, tonight I need you to go through and separate it.  Put the bills in one pile, keepsakes in another, taxes in another, receipts in another. Throw away anything that's over X years old and that's just random paper you don't need for informational purposes. Tomorrow ( Friday, next week) I will help you put together agood filing system.'

Maybe you can go through the first bit with them.

This is EXACTLY what I'm thinking now that I know in what direction I want to take the business plus reading everyone's suggestions/thoughts.  That way, I avoid the 3-4 hour appointments where we go through boxes piece by piece inefficiently, and I still give face time (which I was planning on doing anyway, maybe now after reading y'alls suggestions, just adding a little more), as well as focusing more on the coaching aspect.  And honestly, what you're suggesting above is what I have done with my clients, but I've done the sorting WITH them piece by piece, which I came to realize is not what I want to do with my time or their time.  The combo strategy seems more effective to me.

  • I would want the organizer to help me actually completely the project (hands-on) or at least supervise. Some people aren't motivated enough to follow-through unless they get a little help (I love organizing and cleaning so I'm not in that category, but I'm trying to put myself in the average person's shoes who doesn't like to organize).

Some people, especially when they have a lof of clutter or are borderline hoarders also will have a difficult time letting go of things and might not be able to execute the actual plan you give them.

    Just my thoughts.
