AW: We are starting to research what improvements we want to do for the house. We plan on moving in maybe 2 years and if we want sell there are some cosmetic things we need to do. We've been talking about it for awhile but now we are actually going to act on it. So I am in full research mode and actually have a pinterest account now. Big Smile

Oh yay!!!!!!! I am excited that another reno person will be on the Oklahoma Board.  What do you all plan to do?

We've done a lot of renovations on our current house, but for some reason we didn't think to take before pictures, so I haven't posted about it.  I really wish I had done before and afters on our hall bathroom - H really did some gorgeous tile work.

If we ever actually sell this damn house, we have quite a bit of work to do on the next house as well (paint kitchen/laundry cabinets; new kitchen counters, sink, faucet and removing a section of upper cabinets; polished concrete floors in the kitchen, laundry room, living room and formal living/dining; removal of wallpaper and painting throughout; replacing all of the lovely blue crap (sink, counter, toilet and tub) in the master bath and a bit of work on the other bath).

H will be doing all of the work himself (probably with the help of his dad and a friend of his who is a contractor), and it will take us quite a while to get it all done, but I will make sure to take pics and post about it this time.

I thought you were under contract?  Did that fall through? Sad

Our first contract fell through.  We had a big expensive repair we had to do, then put it back on the market and got another contract in a week and a half, but it's been one thing after another.  We are having to have ONG inspect our furnace over a he said/he said issue with two different heating companies.  The sale should still go through, but we may have to buy a whole new furnace first.  We have decided the next house will be our forever home because we never want to have to sell a damn house again. =P

Thanks, everybody, for indulging my blatant AW-ness today. You gals are great! :D

Congrats!!! I am so excited for you - I have wondered where you have been - haven't "seen" you on here or on FB. I want to hear more about this new joby-job!

I judged every single person in line at the Coach outlet last night.  Jesus Christ. IT IS COACH.  Gag me.

Wait, so is Coach gag-worthy or just the practically camping out to save $50 on a Coach bag?

BOTH!!!  And honestly, if saving $50 is worth standing in line for an hour or two, then maybe you shouldn't be spending that much money on a bag to begin with.

Well, in that case I confess to owning a couple, but they were both gifts and $50 doesn't cover my time for standing in line for a few hours so I guess there's that. I don't see what's flame-worthy about having/liking a particular designer.  Sure they're more expensive than a purse you can buy at Target, but they're also much higher quality.  A Target style purse usually fell apart in a couple of months and I've spent most of the last 5 years carrying one of two coach purses and they're both still in good shape.

Not judging spending lots of dough on a bag, promise!  I absolutely agree they are of much higher quality than a bag bought at Target. I am just so over the Coach craze. It drives me batty.

We went to breakfast with my mom and her BF a couple weeks ago. I mentioned that I was getting ready for my first 5k. I said I was kind of slow though and I mentioned my pace. My mom's BF said something along the lines of "That's it? I could walk that fast!" It made me so mad! I don't run that slow. And he's a pretty tall and big guy, I doubt he could walk that fast, I don't think most people could walk that fast.

AW: I lost 3 pounds during our vacation in Colorado! And my jeans are too big :)

Well first, congrats.  What race are you doing?  You said you live in Moore right?  I'd love to have someone to run with sometime if you'd like an occasional running buddy.   Second, eff him.  A couple of quotes to remind you that you're doing great things for YOU.

-- It doesn't matter how slow you go, you are still lapping everyone on the couch.

-- It's very hard in the beginning to understand that the whole idea is not to beat the other runners.  Eventually you learn that the competition is against the little voice inside you that wants you to quit.

-- In running, it doesn't matter whether you come in first, in the middle of the pack, or last.  You can say "I have finished." There is a lot of satisfaction in that. - Fred Lebow, New York City Marathon co-founder

Thanks for the quotes! Those are helpful! FIL works for OG&E and they're having a big Lineman's Expo tomorrow. The 5k is part of the expo and is for employees and their families. If I enjoy the 5k (which I think I will), I'll probably register to do the Brookhaven Run 5k in September and the Susan G. Komen with a group of friends.

And yeah, I live in Moore. I'd love to have an occasionaly running buddy!

Well good luck with your race!  I'll definitely be doing one of the race-for-the-cure (in either OKC or Tulsa) this year.  I'm also planning to do the Moore Wars 5k in a few weeks.   PM me and we can set up a time to run sometime.  Don't worry, I'm pretty slow too :)

I judged every single person in line at the Coach outlet last night.  Jesus Christ. IT IS COACH.  Gag me.

God, I did the same thing, except I was one of those losers standing in line at the Coach store just so I could support my friend... who stayed in the store for AN HOUR AND A HALF and bought 4 bags. I finally bailed on her in the midst of her indecisiveness.  I have more Coach bags than I can shake a stick at, and I am a bit tired of having such a common bag.  None of my friends could understand why I walked out empty-handed but I am SO over the Coach craze (accept for a few accessories here and there). My mom got me a Coach bag for my birthday this summer which is typical that she'll get me something that's out of style, and then I end up exchanging it for something decent but happens to be plastered with Cs. I'd rather move on to a nicer bag or something designer that's not quite so common.

Sounds like something we can do in Dallas next weekend?  BTW, I am also adding to our list - going to the Chanel store in Uptown.  I think it is time I start budgeting for the 2.55. I am tired of waiting.  Wolf Wolf be damned.

  • I think I have posted a few times here and there about the massive drainage I have and how annoying it is.  I went to the doctor AGAIN since I got yet ANOTHER ear infection - I am to be tested for allergies.

Anyway, she gave me a zpack and to say that it is making me incredibly gassy is an understatement.  DH made me sleep in the guest bedroom last night.  The farts are so potent that my @sshole actually stings.

    Ouch.

  • FFFC:  My in-laws are in town AGAIN.  This is the third visit since May.  Fortunately they are not staying with us this time, but my attendance is required at the step-in-laws family reunion on Saturday in some small podunk town 100 miles away.  I would rather spend one of the few weekends I've had at home this summer inside my house, enjoying the AC, and just being lazy or working on some home projects, but NO.  I will be caravaning for an hour and a half to a *gag me* high school cafeteria where I will be thrown in the midst of a bunch of people I don't know, ranging from uncontrollable hyper kids to 90+ year old deaf seniors.  Of course everyone will be bringing food in which I will probably fear for my life of getting food poisoning from something that's been left out too long, or something contaminated from a re-used ziplock bag (yep, it's THOSE in-laws!).  Yuck.  I need a serious attitude adjustment so I won't come off as a total ***, but I'm pretty sure that's how it's going to be.

AW:  I will be living it up at the ZaZa in Dallas next weekend with puppywuppy and then jetting off to Scotland 3 weeks from today, so I really have no excuse to be acting like such a spoiled brat tomorrow.  I try to keep reminding myself that I have better things coming up just around the corner.

  • I can get on board for the Chanel shopping excursion.  Of course, this may impact what outfits I will be wearing now...  At any rate, it's good to have goals, and maybe I should start budgeting for a dream bag.  :-)

Speaking of which, I think I totally got judged this morning by one of our Dave Ramsey teachers at work when I was describing the outlet shoppes.  He was going on and on about how he and his wife don't have credits cards (which I may have given him the side eye) and how his wife won't have any money to buy a purse there... well, turns out the next thing you know, his mrs. bought a bag.  Ha!  He was none too thrilled, and somewhat puzzled how she could pull that off with no money, but I had to give him a big smirky smile.

Ew - speaking of cc's - we charged Wolf Wolf on our SW card so we could get the points and I *thought* He would show up on the next billing cycle - Nope. We just got the bill. I think DH was going to stab me.  Whoopsie!!  Wolf Wolf got us a free SW ticket though - tell your coirker to stick that in his pipe and smoke it.

AW: I'm going to the Calgary/Lake Banff area next week for training for work. I'm taking a geology field course, so we'll be spending a few hours in the classroom each morning discussing theory, then driving around and hiking the Canadian Rockies to look at rock outcrops. They're paying for airfare, hotels, and meals, so I basically get an awesome trip for free! I love my job. Big Smile

    That sounds awesome!
