We got to come home last night so that was nice. So, far things are going well and Leo is really into his new brother which I am very thankful for. Dh is home today and tomorrow and Leo has been a tad more needy, but not too bad actually. Phew!
Anyways, Sunday morning, around 3:40 a.m. I woke up to some bad back cramps and really needed the toilet. I thought, 'hmmm, weird' so I took my phone with me to the toilet to see if my back ache was anything time-able. Turns out, the bad back cramps were anywhere from 40-60 seconds long and coming between 1 and 2 minutes apart. I ended up having to go to the toilet 3x and by then I thought maybe something was it. So, after about 15 minutes I woke up dh and told him I thought something was up. We called Triage and they said to come into the labor ward.
We got to the hospital around 4:40 and they admitted me right in. I wasn't crazy about the midwife, but whatever. I was in a lot more pain by then and she was trying to get me hooked up to the monitors on my belly but it was so uncomfortable. She left and I had to pee so dh had to go get the MW to ask how I was going to go pee and she had to show him how to unhook the machine. I went to the bathroom and by then I didn't want to move from there the pain was so bad. I got back to the bed and the MW came back at about 5:20 and wanted to take blood but while trying to get the monitors situated on my belly I was wincing in pain that I did not want the monitors on so the MW decided to check me and I was 9 cm. She said I had no time for an epidural and that when I felt like pushing to try. I was crying from pain by then and just kept telling her I wanted an epi but she said there was no time. She had to break my water and there was merconium inside so the pedi had to be called.
So, I started pushing and oh my! I kept telling her I couldn't, it was way too painful. Dh said I had too. I wanted to scream at her to stop touching me, get him out, but stop touching me haha. It was awful. By 5:55 a.m. he was out. No tearing, no stitches, no hemorraging (sp?) this time around. It was SO different from Leo's birth.
Leo came in for visiting and was sort of unsure of everything but he eventually warmed up to the baby and he's been really good with him. I just hope things keep up this smoothly haha.
Re: A new IN baby is here!
Now jumping domestically.
Well that was a crazy couple of years.
Wow! Hard and fast!

That sounds such a dream birth - apart from no epidural! So quick and no tearign - woo hoo! No overnight away from Leo, and home by night time - great news!
Congratulations!!
Thank you everyone for the congratulations.
I'm feeling OK. My belly and back are a bit sore, but over all nothing too terrible. I took an Advil this morning and that's helped ease the pain a bit. I was having a rough time getting out of bed so dh was getting up with him last night and feeding him the majority of the time. He got up this morning with Leo after I finally got Jax settled and back to sleep.Cecilia arrived 12 October 2012
